Chapter 3 – Resurrection of Demon Queen (3rd)

Several days have passed since we accepted the refugees coming from the Pussy Republic. The expansion of Dragon City has been continuing every day. The series of homes built by this ordinary Japanese flat-face and the Loligon as if having a contest reached a sufficient amount to house the new refugees with a few days.

Even so, the number of buildings was still continuing to grow by the day. Eternally like the expanding universe.

Moreover, the Twilight Company led by Gon-chan with the further processing of the buildings the two of us built. The materials, which were continuously brought over from Trichuris, were installed inside the buildings, resulting in making one house after the other livable.

Given that the funds were provided out of the wallet of a certain duke, the work flow never ceased or stalled.

Thanks to that, the Twilight Company were much more acting like remodeling tradesmen than a knight order. However, it didn’t seem like this caused any particular discontent among them. Rather, being asked whether they should head next with a super big smile made me actually feel apologetic instead.

“It has become quite big. You wouldn’t have expected this from the vast grassland located over there at first.”

I was currently inside my office in the mayor’s residence. While gazing at the town, which was even now expanding, through the window, I talked to Maid-san who was grappling with documents next to me.

Right now and here I was able to enjoy precious quality time of being alone with Sophia-chan. Most recently, I’ve been consciously treasuring those occasions as a secret time between man and woman.

“Eh? Ah, yes, y-you’re right!”

“It is quite moving.”

“I-Indeed.”

I have become slightly used to Maid-san’s somewhat cold attitude, too.

Gazing at the city like this, I could sense something akin to a feeling of achievement welling up inside my chest. I was in a mood of wanting to drink lots of booze.

However, things wouldn’t be over with just this much. What would come next would be crucial for the sake of reinstating Neumann. My plan is still only at its beginning.

“……”

By the way, what’s with that empty area? There stood a mansion with an excessively huge garden in a part of the newly established, residential area. No, rather than calling it a garden, I wonder what it actually supposed to be. It kind of feels like it’s standing the all alone while being avoided by the other homes.

The one who had reclaimed that area was the Loligon. Despite appearance, she was acting as a mayor who displayed an extraordinary methodicalness in regards to the town building. Yet, leaving such a huge area empty, while keeping it so undeveloped that she didn’t even add any stone paving to it, stands out like a sore thumb to be honest.

“Sophia-san, there is something I would like to confirm with you, if you do not mind.”

“W-What might that be?”

“Do you know anything about the building over there?”

“Eh?”

Maid-san’s eyes wandered outside the window, looking at the place this ordinary Japanese flat-face was pointing. And just as she took a glance at it, bewilderment dyed her face. Apparently she was aware of the circumstances. Then again, she wasn’t in charge of Dragon City’s financial affairs just for show. I’m sure she knows a lot more about the fine details than this busamen.

“Do you know about it?” I inquired relatively casually.

Thereupon, I received a pointer about something that had actually escaped my memory.

“U-Umm, that is…if I remember correctly, for the sake of Rocoroco-san, you have…”

“………”

Oh, right. That was it, Goggoru-chan! I see, so that’s why the Loligon has been building around that place in a wide circle.

Because of Dragon City’s expansion, the Goggoru mansion, which should have been located in the city’s outskirts outside the wall all by itself, had now joined the best district in the new residential area. As I went totally nuts with the city building, I completely forgot about its existence. Thinking back on it now, it’s been several days since I’ve last talked to her, hasn’t it?

At this point, it’s almost as if I’m troubled by her. I feel like it will be very awkward to meet now. Goggoru-san will definitely be pissed.

“…U-Umm, is something the matter?”

“Sorry, but I am going to step out for a bit.”

“Ah, okay.”

I rushed out of the window with flight magic, hurrying to the Goggoru mansion.

A notice board had been planted right in front of the Goggoru mansion. It was something this ordinary Japanese flat-face had set up after completing the construction.

It read, 『No is allowed to enter these premises. Baron Tanaka』. Faced with me having deliberately added my title as noble, so far no one seems to have challenged to move past this board.

The front of the firmly shut door was overgrown with new leaves of purple chives, seemingly having blossomed at some point. No matter how you looked at this, it made one feel pained. It reminded me of the dugout which used to be Goggoru-chan’s former dwelling when I found her on the Dark Continent some time ago.

“……”

I nervously knocked on the entrance door. However, there was no response.

Don’t tell me…is she out right now? No, no, wait, that’s not possible.

“……Rocoroco-san, are you in?”

I took the liberty of knocking once more while calling out to her.

Thereupon, I got a response this time around. No sooner than I felt that I’d seen the door knob move, a small gap opened up between door and doorway. As I gazed at it for a while, half the body of my acquaintance appeared in the opening between door and door frame. It was the dark brown lolita-san living in this place.

Usually she was staring at others reproachfully, but today they looked especially scornful.

“Forgive me, I have visited to have a talk with you.”

“……”

“I know it might sound rather rude, but would it be alright for me to enter your home?”

“……”

No answer.

She was merely staring at me intently. She’s super pissed. I’ve got a hunch that Goggoru-chan is enraged.

I should probably apologize here.

“I feel terribly sorry for not having contacted you over such a long time.”

In the end, I got totally absorbed in the city building with the Loligon because it was so much fun. It was the sort of joy comparable to my experience of playing in the sandbox of my elementary school all the way until sunset after classes had ended. At that time I was still in the lower grades of elementary school.

I can’t remember the face of my friend who had played together with me back then, though. And yet, I can still vividly recall how we piled up a mountain of sand together, dug a tunnel from two opposite sides through it until our hands touched each other, and eventually clasped each other’s mud-caked hands accompanied by the coarse feel of sand.

I had the privilege to enjoy such happiness.

“……”

“…If you do not mind, how about I prepare a sandbox in the garden?”

Ah, Goggoru-chan’s face became slightly scarier.

Sorry.

I got assailed by a dire wish to play in the sand together with Goggoru-chan. Digging a tunnel together, and intertwining our fingers underneath all the sand. Wouldn’t it be just lovely to create a tunnel together under a big mountain as a sandbox date?

I was hit by that sort of sentimental feeling.

Seriously, forgive me.

“I am sorry about not having kept my word.”

“……”

At this rate, it looks highly unlikely that I will get her to speak with me at all.

Thanks to my delusion selfishly occupying my mind, her mood took a skydive. Her slightly harsh glare, which she blessed me with right now, was very cute in its own right, so personally I’d like the privilege to enjoy it for a little longer. But, any more of this would have the potential of endangering my future relationship with her.

No matter how busy I might have been, I did break my promise. I must het her to properly interact with me on this occasion, at any cost.

“…I have been waiting.”

“Yes, Rocoroco-san, you abode to our promise.”

“But, didn’t come.”

“Sorry. I did not keep our promise.”

“Not keeping your word is bad.”

“It is as you say. It is wrong to not keep your word.”

“Punishment necessary.”

“You are right, a punishment is necessary for someone who breaks his promise.”

“Must be a punishment so that you don’t break promises.”

“Yes, you are absolutely right. A strict punishment is necessary.”

But, it’s wrong. I’m seriously looking forward to getting punished by Goggoru-chan. This is going to become a habit.

The feeling of getting verbally abused aroused me much more than I had imagined. While it was imprudent, I hoped that she would continue this for a while longer. After all, it’s fun. Usually she’s very scarce with her words, so I can’t get her to actively reproach me, unless it’s a situation like this one.

“……”

“……”

I feel sorry, but the current turn of events makes me happy. Having a calm talk while sitting on a bed inside a room that has become quiet due to the late hour is fine in and of itself. But, occasionally it might also be fine to be on the receiving end of a stimulating talk that consists of attacks.

“……”

“…Umm, Rocoroco-san.”

Not good. I’m getting more aroused by Goggoru-chan than I thought I would. I should probably come back later to make a fresh start. My brain is far away from a state that would allow me to express a proper apology.

“Forgive me, please give me some time…”

“…As long as your magic is sealed, even I can kidnap you.”

“………”

I must have finally agitated her after having only thought about rude stuff. And certainly, if we compare the stats between us, Goggoru-chan exceeds me by leaps and bounds when it comes to physical abilities. Her complaint is just, too. So, this weak body might end up being easily pushed down. That in itself should be as easy as twisting a baby’s head.

I see.

Considering it like that, I started to feel the highest quality of excitement, imagining her possibly possessing an item to seal my magic. A talk with Goggoru-chan while my magic has been sealed or similar has to be irresistible. Moreover, while being in front of a slightly excited Goggoru-chan like now…hey, wait a sec, there’s no choice but to fly with this, right?

I think I’ll consult with Edita-sensei whether such an item can be created. If I can get Goggoru-chan to reverse rape me with that, and even if I should get killed by her after she gets too excited, I feel like it’d be worth it to give up on life for this. It’d be a sort of pure love.

“……”

“Umm, I feel truly sorry about this. But, right now, just a bit…”

I want to be kidnapped. I want to be abducted and locked up by Goggoru-chan. What if she suddenly called over her friends with the same fetish? I’d like to suggest a reverse rape by a dark brown group.

“……Why don’t you resign yourself?”

“Err, as might be expected, talking about something like this while the sun is still out…”

It’s very similar to a cat reacting towards a cat teaser that’s being waved in front of it, whether it wants this or not. No matter how much my reason resists, my thoughts would end up moving in the direction dictated by my instincts. Men are creatures who definitely want to try sticking rods into any hole they run across. A cork into the opening of a bottle, a plug into an electrical outlet, or a cucumber into a chikuwa; us humans always have been resolving our distresses and winning in the cruel battle for survival by putting rods into holes. And we’re likely going to continue developing every day by sticking rods into holes from now on as well. On the day when I was told to stop to it, I’d especially want to retort, my feelings being a wood screw.

Or rather, it’s that.

Now that I think about it, these last few days I’ve been completely engrossed with town building, and so I forgot my nightly disposal.

“That’s not it.”

“Excuse me, but what do you mean by saying that’s not it?”

Maybe I should perform a dogeza here? Yeah, I probably should. Good idea, me.

If I look upwards from a dogeza in my current place, I’ll be able to check the depth of Goggoru-chan’s skirt, which I felt like I could see but always barely failed to, from the perfect angle. Maybe she’s going to even step on my head to prevent me from doing so.

What a bliss.

Alright, I’m going to do it. Dogeza.

“No need.”

“……”

Damn it. Having your mind read is a nuisance at times like these. My entire plan fell apart. My awesome plan of killing two birds with one stone by aiming at her pussy while apologizing.

“…If you don’t want to come, you can stay away.”

“Eh? Please wait a moment.”

“Impossible. No need. Already treated me very well.”

“No, no, not at all. That is out of the question!”

It’s not like I didn’t come here because I didn’t want to. Personally, I wouldn’t have any problem spending all my time together with you. Rather, being together all the time is great. Most recently, I’ve started to feel an indescribable sense of security by having my mind read. But as might be expected, that feels dangerous, so I’d like to pay attention to the right distance.

I’d lose everything if Goggoru-chan started to hate me.

“……”

“Rocoroco-san?”

Rather, as far as I’m concerned, I’m more worried about her. I’ve been exposing her to sexual harassment each time we met. I think she’s completely tired of it. If I was in her shoes, I might not have been able to endure it whatsoever. It’s something that deeply impresses me, considering just how tolerant and broadminded she has to be.

Or rather, now that I was thinking about this and that, I’ve gradually started to become anxious. Maybe she’s trying to distance herself from this ordinary Japanese flat-face at this very moment.

“……”

“If it looks like there is some sort of impediment, I would be delighted if you could tell me.”

Assuming you have been keeping this ordinary Japanese flat-face company until now for the sake of being with the Loligon and Edita-sensei, I’d feel deeply regretful. If such circumstances are in play here, I’d like you to honestly tell me. It’d be unfortunate, but I’d lower the frequency of our contacts.

“……”

“……”

However, I would be deeply indebted if I could receive your reverse rape. A reverse rape while completely laying my heart and mind bare.

Or rather, it’s that. Because I’ve been only thinking about reverse rape this, reverse rape that, I have started to think of the term of reverse rape as commonplace word. If I think any more about it, I fear that I could suddenly start to clamor about reverse rape on impulse.

I do have the track record of having made the mistake to mention my affinity towards incest to a stranger because I had been constantly thinking about incest in the past. The busamen at that time fully understood that a human’s brain can adapt a lot more than expected.

“Sorry, as I thought, I will redo today…”

“…Finally understood,” she curtly muttered as if to interrupt my words.

Immediately following, Goggoru-chan spat out a sigh and looked at me with a somewhat philosophical gaze. It seemed as though the tension of her stiff face had come off.I wonder what caused the change in her mental state. Maybe she ran out of patience with this ordinary Japanese flat-face.

“Umm, Rocoroco-san…”

Even though I felt doubtful, a virgin sucker like me has absolutely no clue about the inner workings of a woman’s heart. All the more so, if it comes to Goggoru-chan who shows little to no emotional change under normal circumstances.

“Doubting your own strength was your first.”

“Pardon?”

“You doubted the control over your mind. And at the end, you became discouraged.”

“What do you mean?”

I think you are well aware that my brain is pretty much estranged from the concept of control. So what are you talking about?

“But, it was different. You were normal.”

“No way. I cannot be normal. The relationship with you is too important.”

I still don’t get what Goggoru-chan is saying. Maybe she’s given up on me after all?

But, even assuming that to be the case, I’d like to avoid bidding farewell from her. I don’t want to think about a life where I cannot sexually harass Goggoru-chan. This is a problem, a genuine and huge problem. It’s an addiction that’s getting worse by the day. Making it very hard for me to laugh at the Loligon for having become intoxicated with a drug.

Sincerity. Let’s show her my sincerity. Showing my sincerity here will undoubtedly connect a future reverse rape.

“Granting you one wish, whatever it might be, in exchange would be no good?”

In response to this virgin’s question, Goggoru-chan’s tail twitched. It was only visible from above her skirt, but I’m 100% sure that I’ve seen it move with a rustling just now.

Ah, being able to read someone’s mind might be quite convenient at times like this.

I’m reading! Totally reading! This busamen is definitely reading your agitation, even if it might be very small.

“…Whatever?”

“Yes, whatever it might be,” I responded instantly with a nod.

If you tell me to drink your urine, I shall prepare a glass right away.
If you tell me to eat puke, I shall prepare rice right away.

“…I want to live in a place that is a bit closer.”

“A place that is closer?”

I won’t ask “to whom.” That much is pretty clear in my eyes. To everyone.

“……”

Just as she pointed out, the Goggoru mansion is at present in an extremely dangerous location. Even if I have put up a warning board, human curiosity knows no bounds. If they were to learn of her identity by some freak chance, it might turn into a huge uproar, even affecting the course of Dragon City.

As the one entrusted with the care-taking of this area, I had been considering relocating her further away from the city, even without having it pointed out by her. But, in that case, her new home will become a problem. Dragon City will probably continue to expand in the future. I wouldn’t be able to watch her distress and suffering after having to move away again because the development caught up with her new home in the outskirts early on. Besides, this method would run counter to the condition of a closer place, which she mentioned moments ago.

“I understand. If that is your wish, there exists one, suitable location.”

“Where?”

“Please look forward to finding out after the move.”

It’s the tower built by the Loligon. That place is conveniently extending vertically instead of horizontally. Besides, it’s possible for her to keep plenty of distance even while being in the center of the city. It’s also possible to cope with the Goggoru distance. At the same time, she can spend her days in a place relatively close to all of her acquaintances, just as she requested.

“…Finding out after the move?”

“……”

I am sorry. But, this is something I cannot avoid, no matter what I do. I really wanted to give you a surprise, Goggoru-chan.

“…Thanks.”

“No, it is I who has to ask for forgiveness as I caused you trouble in various ways.”

“No trouble.”

“But…”

As she was troubled by the words of this ordinary Japanese flat-face, the entrance door was opened with a creaking. It exposed her, whom I could only see peeking out beyond the door beforehand. Her outfit was, as usual, one that gave me the impression of being a native dress of some place. I love the mini-skirt, though.

Edita-sensei’s thicc thighs are lovely as well, but Goggoru-chan’s healthy, tight thighs are also lovely. If you assume the former to be thighs which you want to press down on your face, the latter are also thighs you want to press down on your face. A face hold rocks, right?

“Every day, talk.”

“Is that okay? I think it might lower the frequency somewhat, though…”

“If it’s a bother, I will come.”

“Sorry. As you can imagine, that will be a problem, so please allow me to come to you.”

Yahoo. It looks like I somehow managed to obtain permission. I’m super happy here.

Thanks to obtaining a promise to talk for the foreseeable future, I can finally feel at rest. It’s great that I got her permission without a hitch. Having said that, I think I would like us to focus our attention on tonight’s talk for the time being.

This busamen readjusted his concentration. But, suddenly, right in front of him, there was a change on Goggoru-chan’s face.

“…We’ll always talk. Always, all the time.”

Her mouth was small, but a smile was undoubtedly visible on it.

Ooohhh! Come to think of it, Goggoru-chan’s smile is an extremely rare treat, isn’t it? Previously, I’ve seen it only once on the Dark Continent. If I remember correctly, it was at the occasion of our encounter at her home right after the bloodbath among the green sylphs.

Okay, that’s not a sight I want to remember all that much.

“You are right. If it is something I can make come true, I would love to keep talking all the time.”

“…Nothing. It’s nothing. Don’t mind it.”

“You sure?”

Ah, she immediately went back to being a cool beauty. So this was a faint, momentary peek at her other self. How regrettable.

“Yes.”

“Well then, let us hurry with the move then. I will go and negotiate the precise location.”

“Got it. Will wait here.”

“Roger.”

This busamen has been thinking about all sorts of weird stuff, so she might have kindly taken me into consideration. Her communication skills might be low, but it’s definitely not like Goggoru-chan cannot be considerate. Rather, she’s a very compassionate girl.

If nothing else, it’s wonderful that I managed to make up with Goggoru-chan.

This ordinary Japanese flat-face switched locations from the Goggoru mansion to a section of the new, developing residential district, or to be precise, the section where the Loligon was currently engaging in public works.

The dress she was wearing and her skin was dirty with mud, but she was nicely smiling all over her face as she undertook her work.

I called out to her, departing on a streak of negotiations. But, those proved to be fairly difficult. The Loligon didn’t like the suggestion of Goggoru-chan moving at all. She insisted that she built that tower herself and that she hadn’t done so in order to take in some Goggorus. She also added that Goggoru-chan could simply move to some faraway place, if she wanted, and so on.

As always, she was a passionate Goggoru hater. Though, this in itself was a pleasant feeling, if you experienced it once.

『Absolutely not! No, no, no! I won’t stand for it!!』

However, the cowardly dragon couldn’t understand that sort of delight. She threatened me, even going as far as growling dangerously.

She was absolutely against it. Even her initial smile was all but gone by now.

“I have not said that you should yield the room on the top floor to her. One of the mid-floors would do just fine. I would like to rent just a single floor for her. Of course, I will prohibit her from moving to any other floor without your explicit permission.”

『No!』

“No matter what?”

『No matter what!』

“…I see.”

She was more obstinate about this than I had expected.

Yet, there was no other place suitable for Goggoru-chan to live in that would be located near the mayor’s mansion. Having said that, it’d be quite a hassle to relocate the mayor’s mansion at this point, too. The area around the mansion was densely crowded by important facilities such as the Twilight Company’s office, the research building of Edita-sensei and the Noble Mage, and many more.

As such it’d become necessary to move all these facilities as well, if we were to relocate the mayor’s mansion. And given that this whole complex of buildings counted as the central part of the city, which also had its sewage system laid out by now, I’d love to avoid making such a big move. It’d result in a staggering delay to the city’s expansion.

In that case, I guess I’ve got no other choice but to use ‘that’, now that things have turned out like this.

“Very well. In that case I will build a tower as well.”

The first one had been built by the Loligon. So this busamen is sure he should be capable of building one as well.

gh…』

“And then I shall allow her to live in the highest location of the new tower.”

What if I also make it taller than the Loligon’s tower while at it? I might be able to enjoy that precious vexed expression of hers, accompanied by the groaning of a defeated, for the first time in a while. Every once in a while, this ordinary Japanese flat-face must also show what others call dignity. Considering it like that, it might actually be a fairly decent choice to go with.

Now that I’ve decided, let’s get started right away. It’s not like there’s no means to expand the city upwards, even under the current city planning.

As I turned around, I focused myself on the sky in order to exercise my flight magic.

“Excuse me for disturbing you while you are busy…”

『W-Wait! Wait a moment!』

“What is it?”

Just as I was about to leave, I was called to halt, yet again in a flustered manner. I turned around towards the Loligon, wondering what was going on.

What I saw in front of me was a completely panicking Loligon.

『……I got it!I-I-I will rent it!』

“Are you sure? You hated it so much just moments ago…”

『Yes, it’s fine! It’s fine, I’ll rent a floor to you! So, promise that you won’t build a tower!!』

“If I can rent a floor in your tower, I will not have any need to build a new tower.”

『Really!? Y-You definitely won’t build one yourself!? You promise, right!?』

“Well, yes.”

『Ah, b-but, only right in the middle of the tower! Only in the middle!』

“Yes, I am fully aware.”

『If she climbs further than the middle, I’ll kill her! I’ll definitely kill her, okay!?』

“I will make sure to firmly warn her on this.”

『Gururururu』

With a growl, the Loligon glared at this busamen with such an intensity that you could suspect her to leap at him at any moment.

I felt like she had started to get along well with the other members most recently. As a matter of fact, it looked as though the distance between her and Edita-sensei as well as Sophia-chan shrunk significantly.

But, in the end it appears the threshold for her relationship with Goggoru-chan to improve remains quite high.

“Thank you very much, Christina-san.”

『That’s nothing you should say, but that blasted Goggoru!!』

“You are right. I will ask her to visit you properly, too.”

『S-S-She doesn’t really n-n-need to come! Don’t make her visit me! Keep her away, definitely!』

What a difficult personality she has. But well, in the end it all worked out. I safely managed to secure Goggoru-chan’s new home.

Right now I was in the middle of helping out with the move of Goggoru-chan which had been decided rather abruptly.

“Hey! Boss! Heeey!”

This ordinary Japanese flat-face had been serving as a flying shuttle service to transport all the furniture that had been carried out of the Goggoru mansion. In the middle of one such shuttle flight, a person loudly called out to me from the surface.

When this busamen looked in the voice’s direction, he found Gon-chan standing there, widely waving his arms.

I quickly descended to him while keeping the furniture afloat. He was situated right in front of the mayor’s mansion, seemingly having just stepped out through the entryway.

“Is something the matter?”

“Have you seen Neumann? I got urgent business with him.”

“Should I go and look for him?”

“Sorry to burden you with this while you’re busy, but could I have you do that?”

It was rare for Gon-chan to be in such a hurry. Naturally, I was curious about his business with Neumann. If it’s no trouble, this ordinary Japanese flat-face would love to also hear about it. Maybe I will be able to handle the issue from my side.

“Very well. By the way, what sort of business is it?”

“Ah, that guy’s child has shown up.”

“Really?”

“Moreover, the mother is nowhere to be seen. According to the kid, she’s come here by himself.”

“That is yet…quite…”

I reflexively felt a shock run through my body. Because I knew the circumstances of Neumann’s family, I could tell that this was urgent. I don’t know where he is and what he’s doing right now, but it sounds like it’d be best to bring him back here as soon as possible. By chance, Gon-chan might have called out to this ordinary Japanese flat-face since he was broadly understanding the circumstances.

“Can I leave it to you?”

“Alright, I will bring him back here as soon as possible. Also, the care for his child…”

“Leave that side to us. The women of our clan are lookin’ after her.”

“That is a huge help.”

Nothing less of Gon-chan. He hasn’t surrounded himself with a loli harem for show. I can trust him and his folks when it comes to the treatment of small kids.

“I will be back soon, so please take care of it for a while.”

Considering the situation under which Neumann had been placed, no other task could have a higher priority than this. In the first place, his child should still be small. If she came all the way here from the capital by herself, that goes way beyond what a messenger would do on their first job. It’s a ridiculously big adventure.

It makes me think that the child has to be in a fairly dire situation to opt for this move.

I allowed myself to move the furniture, which I was currently transporting, to the tower. I mustn’t forget to inform Goggoru-chan. In a hurry.

Recently Neumann has been working much harder than before, probably in order to forget his wife’s adultery. It has gone so far that I started to wonder whether he was working all the time, from early morning into deep night, except for the times when he needed to eat or bathe.

Today he was overseeing the distribution of materials in the new residential area. This wasn’t a task that would actually require him, a civil official, to come out on the scene in person. However, this was probably part of his desire to move his body. What made it quite frightening was the fact that he was helping out here after having finished all of his desk work beforehand.

Neumann was loudly hurling instructions at the members of the Twilight Company. After explaining the situation to him, we flew straight to the mayor’s mansion with my flight magic. Just as I had promised Gon-chan, I brought Neumann over. In less than half an hour, mind you.

And right now a father and his daughter were facing each other inside the mansion’s parlor.

“Papa!”

“Michelle!”

Just a moment ago, Neumann had opened the door and taken his first step into the room. A very young girl immediately charged at him, diving into him with all her might.

Neumann caught her with both hands, perfecting the embrace between parent and child.

“Papa! I missed you! Papa!”

“Michelle, why did you come all the way here…?”

The father was confused about his daughter who was repeatedly yelling papa, papa.

Hearing his question, she answered with a firm and level-headed voice, “I wanted to see you, Papa! I heard that I can find you in this town!”

“No, but the distance from Charis to this place…”

Neumann cast a fleeting glance in my direction. This ordinary Japanese flat-face naturally answered this with a shake of his head.

“…Don’t tell me…you really came all the way here by yourself?”

“Yep! I wanted to see you! Papaaaa!”

gh…”

For an instant, a demonic, hideous grimace crossed Neumann’s face. On the other hand, his daughter seemed to be overjoyed.

I think she’s at an age where she’d be in the 3rd or 4th grade or elementary school around now. He hair extends all the way below her waist and she got, big and cute saucer eyes, matching Neumann’s in color.

She must have repeatedly suffered on the way here. Her clothes, which made it clear that she was a city girl, were sullied with dust and dirt. You could also see holes all over the fabric. I think she’s traveled around 200 miles to visit her father.

It was an extremely emotional scene and I feel extremely sorry about this, but she was perfectly in this ordinary Japanese flat-face’s strike zone. Her look, which reminded me of her strong spirit and heart amidst her youthfulness thanks to the slanted eyes, precisely aroused my heart’s dick. Coupled with her decisiveness to have traveled all the way to Dragon City by herself, it was a double strike.

Goggoru-chan, I can’t lie to myself after all. I wholeheartedly want to fuck her.

“Are you hurt anywhere? You’re not feeling sick or anything like that?”

“I’m okay! This much is nothing!”

“I-I see…”

What a heartwarming scene. My lolicon heart was screaming at me, asking whether it should be emotionally touched or sexually aroused. Due to my sinfulness which made it impossible to be honestly moved by this emotional scene.

“Gonzales-san, let us leave these two alone.”

“You’re right.”

I can ask about the circumstances later on.

Accompanied by Gon-chan, this lolicon bastard left the parlor. I mean, after all it’d be dangerous for me to watch any longer. It’s all about the intra-cerebral fuck margin. My delusions would erode reality. As such, the decision to leave was the bit of remaining reason in me appealing that it wants to stop while this beautiful scene remains beautiful.

Isn’t that great, Neumann?

However, even so, this ordinary Japanese flat-face doesn’t wish to give up on restoring your honor. I will definitely accomplish this mission. Also for the sake of his lovely daughter. I think it’s essential that those called Papa can show their cool side to their daughters.

This ordinary Japanese flat-face returned to his office after finishing to help out with Goggoru-chan’s move. The Loligon was at his side.

While we were engaged in the moving business, she had maintained a reasonable distance, monitoring the situation around the brown lolita from the beginning to the very end. Most likely she had been making sure that we wouldn’t overstep our previously promised boundaries.

And then since developed into us moving locations to the mayor’s mansion. By the way, Goggoru-chan was unpacking her luggage at her new place and such. Given that she basically didn’t owe any private belongings, I doubt it’s going to take her that much time. I’ve been thinking about bolstering her mood a bit by bringing her some refreshments in the style of relocation soba later on. 1

“Oh, Boss, mayor, you’re here?”

No sooner than us opening the door, we were greeted by Gon-chan’s cheerful voice. Sophia-chan, Neumann, and his daughter were present in the room as well. Apparently father and daughter finished their emotional reunion for the time being. Right now, they were having something akin to an afternoon teatime, eating cake and drinking tea while sitting on the sofas.

“Sorry for causing you trouble, Tanaka.”

Spotting this ordinary Japanese flat-face beyond the door, Neumann stood up right away. And immediately following that, he bowed his head deeply alongside an apology. His daughter, who had been sitting next to him, also got up, and politely bowed at his side.

What a well-disciplined child. I think she comes after her father.

『Hey, who’s that girl?』

“She is Neumann-san’s daughter. Please make sure to not be rude to her.”

『…That guy’s brat, huh?』

While answering the Loligon, I turned around to the person in question.

“Please raise your head, Neumann-san. You have not caused me any trouble to speak of. One must cherish his daughter properly, right? And as your coworker, it is only natural for me to cooperate in this. We should help each other in times of need.”

“No, these are entirely matters related to my own family. It’s wrong to bring these problems into my workplace.”

But even so, what’s up with this overly serious attitude of his? Isn’t he going a tad too far here?

“This place is different from the kingdom. Is it not alright to not pay undue attention to such trivial matters? What should I say, seeing how I have been constantly troubling everyone with my personal issues. And when it comes to the mayor, she tends to flee the city depending on her mood.”

“N-Not, but…”

Neumann was confused. On the other hand, his daughter was attentively listening to the exchange between her father and this ordinary Japanese flat-face. The sensation of being appraised as her Papa’s coworker gives me a pleasant feeling. I think I should show her my cool side as her father’s boss.

“Let us build a house nearby so that you can live there together with your daughter.”

“Wait! There’s no way that doing something like that would be alright!”

“The mayor’s mansion also has some rooms left, but even so, I believe it is important for parent and child to spend time without any outsiders being around. Your daughter is still young, but I think it would b good to take good care of her family environment. And to my regret, this mansion is rather very hectic.”

I mean, it’s inhabited by an extremely dangerous playboy. Considering it from my view as an unpopular guy, he’s much more dangerous than the Loligon at the moment.

When it comes to building a house for them, it has the issue of finding a suitable plot. But, compared to constructing a Goggoru mansion which requires a vast courtyard, the Neumann home would only amount to an ordinary house, making it much, much easier. I think I should thank him properly for all the trouble I’ve been imposing on him until now.

“But, won’t I lose face in front of the others then!?” Neumann asked hesitantly.

It was Gon-chan who confronted him about this.

“Hey, hey, wait a sec. If you say such things, where does this put us then, Neumann?”

“N-No, I mean…”

He and the Twilight Company under him have set up their exclusive office and housing complex in a place near the mayor’s mansion. They’re a clan boasting of more than a thousand members, so their facilities are like huge condominiums.

However, even then it’s no problem in light of the whole town. We’ve been keeping several plots of land open around the mayor’s mansion for occasions like this one. It follows the idea of planning a city while keeping the future in sight. After all, the staff with family is probably going to keep growing, so you’d want to plan for enough leeway in advance.

Officially, it’s going to become lodging houses for the knight order. I guess the point I should reflect upon is the fact of me having forgotten to include the Goggoru mansion in my calculations. However, I just hadn’t expected that the city would expand outwards to such an extent.

“But well, why did your daughter come all the way here by herself anyway? Going by what you’ve told us before, she lived in the capital, right? Even if things might have calmed down for the moment, there’s a limit to taking risks. Besides, it’s quite a distance to walk for a child.”

In the meantime Gon-chan changed the topic by asking this. Apparently Neumann hasn’t told him about the problems at home. Personally, I’d want to keep it a secret for him. I honestly believe that.

“Ah, well, you see…,” panicked Neumann.

This busamen can fully understand the problem he is facing right now and here. I can sympathize with him from the bottom of my heart. Anyone has a topic or two they don’t want others to touch upon.

For example those guys who use words like virgin while adding some adjective to it. Everyone knows such people right? They say stuff like mixer virgin or traveling-abroad virgin. And also people who nonchalantly join talks at work and keep instigating a virgin for some reason or another. Moreover, when it comes to such guys, they tend to have cute, dependable girlfriends despite not even being handsome or anything. Furthermore, they act as if it’s totally normal, so I somehow feel like, hmm…ah, right, using a Discrete Fourier Transformation of their dicks. I get the urge of robbing them of all choices besides taking it in the ass.

“What’s wrong? If you don’t mind, I’ll help you out!”

Moreover, in Gon-chan’s case it’s especially nasty since all of it comes out of his good heart.

And yet this in front of his daughter.

“No, that’s…well, I’m not very keen on talking about this right now and here…”

“Why? We’re friends living in the same city, aren’t we?”

At this rate, things will go south. Now that things have taken this turn, this ordinary Japanese flat-face has no choice but to sally forth as someone who’s present on site. I must protect Neumann’s dignity.

“Gonzales-san, everyone has one or two things they wish to keep hidden in their hearts, right? Would you be resolved to welcome me with open arms and a smile, if I admitted to have feelings for you as a man?”

“W-Whoa, please forgive me then…”

He isn’t a normie for show. I got Gon-chan to pick up on things quickly by just telling him some random example. Hearing me joking around for a change, he had probably felt that something was off. This ability to quickly switch an approach is just what I’d expect of a guy like him. And thanks to that, his digging into Neumann’s matters was stopped.

And yet, for some reason I don’t understand, it triggered his daughter.

“P-Papa isn’t at fault! Mama is bad! It’s all Mama’s fault!”

She planted herself in front of her father and spread her arms so as to protect him. Even though it was bold, the expression she was showing this ordinary Japanese flat-face and Gon-chan was frantic. And leaving aside the former, she was doing her best despite the super grim look of the latter.

“Papa isn’t at fault! Mama is bad for coming together with a weird man! Papa has been doing his very best, and yet Mama has been badmouthing Papa! That is just weird! Even though Papa has been working every day for us until late into the night!”

“……”

What deeply touching words. But, because of them, everything Neumann had kept secret was exposed to everyone.

“Please! Please be nice to Papa! I-I will do anything, if you want! So, please…please treat Papa nicely! Papa is amazing! Papa…my Papa is super amazing!” She appealed with a face as if she was going to start crying at any moment.

Hearing this, all of us lacked the proper words to answer. Even Maid-san, who had devoted herself to acting as an unrelated bystander until now, had peeked out from the kitchen to look at the small girl. Even the Loligon was about to say something on the spur of the moment, but, for some reason she limited it to fumbling her word, keeping unclear as to what she was saying.

Neumann, you’re being loved much more than expected, aren’t you?

The corners of my eyes have become slightly hot. And once I directed my eyes at him, he was also pressing down on his eyes with his fingers.

Right? I totally feel you, man.

With his daughter entering the fray, the circumstances of the Neumann family became exposed. Neumann explained the details personally to Gon-chan and Sophia-chan. Following that, we were able to ask his daughter why she had come all the way to Dragon City by herself.

Apparently she had personally witnessed her mother’s infidelity. Furthermore, Neumann’s wife and the adulterer had been dissing Neumann on a daily basis. Having heard them talk like that on countless occasions, Michelle became unable to bear it any longer and resolved herself to run away from home. According to her, this happened just last week.

“Somehow, umm, sorry. I asked you ’bout stuff I shouldn’t have.”

“No, don’t worry about it. You would have heard about it sooner or later anyway.”

When father and daughter had finished giving a rough explanation, a gloomy mood fell upon the room. Gon-chan felt sorry as he suspected to have led to this by insistently questioning Neumann. Moreover, the expression of Neumann as he answered this was clearly that of someone who had given up on everything.

At this rate, things would just get worse, wouldn’t they?

“But, as might be expected of your child, Neumann-san. She frankly decided while relying on her own beliefs and took action that went clearly beyond just walking through a town by herself. She is in a league of her own when compared to other children of her age.”

She said that she found out about her father’s workplace from the rumors whispered among her neighbors. And immediately afterwards, she worked straight towards searching for her beloved Papa.

Her travel from Charis to Dragon City was an epic tale, unveiling a great adventure. Even this ordinary Japanese flat-face was held in breathless suspense when listening to her laying out all the details. I was in a state where I could commit loli rape at any moment.

As a matter of fact, the possibility of her even having lost her hymen by now also crossed my mind.

“…Yeah, you’re right. She’s a daughter surpassing me in all respects,” Papa lovingly gazed at his daughter as he muttered this.

“For the present, we will take care of her, okay? If you need anythin’, just say the word! We’ll get it for you at top priority! Oh right, you’ll live here for the time until your house is finished, right? We gotta prepare your room.”

“No, that’s no good. It’s best to stick to the order of things.”

“Isn’t it fine every once in a while? At least that’s how I feel ’bout it!”

He was probably considerate towards Neumann. Gon-chan was more talkative than usual.

『A child, huh…?』

The Loligon whispered to no one in particular after having listened to the conversation thus far. Her expression seemed much calmer than usual. Her look made a trip from Neumann, to his daughter, and then finally this ordinary Japanese flat-face.

“Is something the matter, Christina-san?”

『N-Nothing! It’s nothing, okay!?』

Once I suddenly called out to her, I got yet another striking reaction from her. While worth mentioning, it’s not such a surprising scene either, I think.

“Is that so?”

『I-If it’s the child of my subordinate, I-I must look after them! As mayor!』

A grin revealed itself on the mayor’s lips as she howled this in panic. It was the same with the nui, but recently the Loligon has been increasingly showing a lenient and friendly attitude towards her relationship with subordinates, kin, and their likes. Maybe it’s something like a backlash from her having spent an eternal life of violence and cruelty as one-man show up until now.

“Sure. Nothing less of our mayor!”

『It’s only normal for a mayor to support her subordinates. Now that we’ve settled this, I gotta build a magnificent house! Leave everything to me! I’ll build a home that much nicer and easier for living than anything that human over there could ever construct!』

The Loligon cast a fleeting glance at this ordinary Japanese flat-face. It was a sort of cheeky, sidelong glance.

“Oh, great idea. We will leave their new home to the mayor then.”

『Heheen! That’s right! Whatever you say, they’re my subordinate and his child!』

Once I agreed obediently, she revealed an unusually triumphant look. Her springy cheeks were squishy and soft. Her being 50% charming while 50% irritating was vexing.

“P-Papa, who is this kid? She looks like she is my age, but…”

Michelle withered away from the power of the Loligon’s look. It’s not like I can’t understand that notion. If I were to suddenly encounter her at night in a dark corridor, I’d pretty surely get scared. She’d be close to the monsters appearing in haunted houses. And if I ran into her while taking a corner, I might actually scream in reflex.

“She is the mayor of this town. Her name is Christina.”

『Right! I’m the mayor. …Important, right?』

“Eh? But, umm, y-you’re as old as I am…”

『If you’re being bullied by anyone, tell me without holding back, okay?』

“O-Oki.”

Michelle was forced into agreeing little-by-little. Her face gave away that she was full of questions. She definitely didn’t look like she could come to terms with this. But well, it’d be quite possible to hurt the Loligon’s mood by interjecting here in one way or another. Neumann also thought so, and thus he didn’t mention anything in particular. He’ll probably explain things to his daughter in private later on.

『Very well, I’m off to get things ready! Preparations!』

No sooner than saying this, the Loligon rushed out of the room. You could hear her noisy footsteps fading into the distance.

“Well then, forgive me for all the trouble, but please take care of the rest, Gonzales-san, Sophia-san.”

“Aye, count on me!”

“O-Okay!”

Asking the two to handle the remaining work, this ordinary Japanese flat-face also left the office.

At any rate, it’s great that Michelle was fine. If things keep going like this, he might also be able to somewhat calm days again after his heartbreak. These last few days I had been worried since Neuman was always enveloped by an aura of doom and gloom. I’d be very grateful if I could have him get back to his usual self by living together with his daughter.

And I’ll definitely prove that I can connect that slight postponement granted through familial love to a restoration of honor.

All kinds of problems surfaced then we expanded Dragon City. As such we steadily advanced our preparations for the expected time to arrive in the near future by thoroughly resolving each and every single problem.

One day, and then another day passed. The town has been growing in size at a remarkable pace, and the number of people arriving has likewise been growing steadily.

“T-Tanaka-san, umm…!”

As I was walking through a corridor of the mayor’s mansion, my name was called from behind. The sound of the voice made it very clear that I was dealing with my beloved Maid-san.

“Is something the matter?”

I turned around, pretending to be unconcerned. Thereupon, I spotted her just coming around the corner, before briskly running up to me with a pitter-patter, looking awfully restless. The sight of her maid attire’s frilly skirt fluttering in the wind was marvelous. If possible, it’d be great for the skirt to be a tiny bit shorter than it is. I truly miss the skirts that allowed you to see everything, which I was allowed to witness at the resort.

“More refugees have arrived…”

“I see.”

Starting with us having accepted people from Drill-chan’s fief in the Pussy Republic, a constant stream of refugees from inside the Empire has been coming in. On weak days, our city grew by a few people, while several dozens joined us on stronger days. Of course, we didn’t accept all of them into our beautiful town. The decision to accept or reject them was made based on a thorough check of their personalities and background.

Just a few days ago, a bandit group tried to slip into our city by pretending to be refugees. It earned them a bloody counterattack by the nui. The mayor personally awarded the nui for their achievement of splendidly repelling the harmful elements without causing any damage to the city and its inhabitants. They were granted the right to use several of the lower flowers of the Loligon Tower as exclusive lodging space.

The nui were extremely delighted about this. They bustled around, loudly squeaking in joy.

“How big is the group of new arrivals?”

“Umm, I have heard they number around a hundred…”

“I will head over right away. Thank you very much for contacting me.”

“O-Okay, please do so.”

This was something I couldn’t leave to others. This ordinary Japanese flat-face has been entrusted with the overall handling of this entire matter.

I faced the group of refugees outside the outer wall that was now surrounding the new residential quarters.

“U-Umm, are you, kind Sir, possibly the representative of the city over here?”

“Yes, you could say so.”

The refugees were represented by a man who was past his fifties. His brown hair made you feel a certain desolation, and skin was wrinkly all over. His expression was battered from exhaustion, and his mud-caked outfit had become frayed or was torn at many places. You could easily tell that he must have gone through countless hardships to arrive all the way here.

Behind him stood around a hundred people. The figure coincided with what Sophia-chan had told me. All of them looked as tired and worn-out as the old man. I could see especially many women and children among them. Adult men were conspicuously lacking.

“W-W-We have heard that an extremely f-famous m-m-magician and a big dragon, w-who obeyed him, were presiding in t-this city while having blocked m-m-many of the demon king’s magic a-attacks…”

“Yes, that is right. You are talking about our mayor.”

“I-Is that r-really true then?”

“Yes, it is.”

What he had said was slightly different from the actual truth. It had probably taken that form after being passed on as rumor. But, if we got people to gather like this, it was unnecessary to fuss over the details. Besides, they should be immediately able to witness the reality of what had become the source of the rumor, once they started to live in our city. After all, half of the city’s houses have been personally built by the dragon, who was mentioned just now.

“We h-h-heard another rumor. It w-was about you taking in n-new residents over here…”

“Indeed. It is mostly as you say.”

“O-Ooohhh…”

Happiness blossomed on the man’s face.

Dragon City had initially been earning its income as an inn town connecting the Penny Empire and the Pussy Republic. As the circulation of rumors seems to be going quite well, many people have recently been arriving here after hearing the gossip. And that’s not just limited to refugees either.

Especially because the demon queen’s onslaught was apparently going on as of yet. I heard monsters similar to lesser demons have started to show up in various places. And seeing how they were giving even our nui a run for their money, I can imagine that it’d be quite a challenge for the humans to drive these away. Thanks to that, villages and towns which didn’t possess any seizable military forces, were stuck in the midst of chaos.

“However, it does not mean that you will be provided shelter and safety for free. If you enter under the jurisdiction of our city, you will be required to pay taxes as compensation. If you cannot accept this, we must turn you down.”

“Excuse me, but would it be o-okay for us to hear the d-details of your demands?”

“Before that, I would like to ask about your circumstances first. You do not mind, do you?”

“No, of course not.”

I confirmed the reason as to why they had come all the way to Dragon City. Usually, the refugees would have passed around 80% of the necessary entry requirement, if there was no problem at this point.

In this particular case here, the group had been driven out by monsters that appeared to be lesser demons, losing their homes in the process, the old man explained. The reason for them lacking men at the height of their life could be found in them dying during the battle to fend off the demons. Many of the refugees had backstories similar to this.

Since I didn’t actually count, I don’t know the precise numbers, but the ratio of women in Dragon City probably exceeds 60%. Whenever I casually wander the business district, even at night, I can see a lot more women than men.

“If that is the case, we shall lend you our assistance.”

“R-Really!? Are you truly alright with this!?!?”

“I will explain the city’s rules next. As long as we get you to follow these, we will accept all of you with open arms. However, should you cause any problems, you will regret it, so please be very mindful of that part. The circumstances in this city are different from other places in various ways.”

“Okay! Please, tell us anything we need to know or do!”

Thanks to this vigorous approach, the motivation of this virgin soared.

【Sophia-chan’s Point of View】

Today, this maid has come to Charis.

It spells my first homecoming in several weeks. But, it is definitely not like I came here to buy the powder of happiness.

Nowadays, when reports about uproars triggered by Her Majesty the Demon Queen flow in on a daily basis, I have been approached by Tanaka-san about a certain matter.

The matter pertained to the possibility of opening a restaurant in Dragon City, even if only temporarily, as long as it fit our conveniences.

No matter how much of a useless bum my father might be, he is still the sole blood relative I have left. As such I was very happy about Tanaka-san worrying about me in such a way. Thus I came all the way to Charis while straightforwardly accepting the helping hand extended through his offer.

By the way, I asked Elf-san to help me with the trip. Normally the trip would require several days, but thanks to Elf-san’s magic, it was over in an instant. As she apparently had some business to deal with at her home in the capital, I took the liberty of hiking a ride.

This is but the selfish imagination of this maid, but I am sure all of this was just out of consideration towards me. He is a truly wonderful person. I strongly wish that I will be able to repay all this kindness and help one day.

And due to all these circumstances, this maid invited Elf-san to lunch at home. During an earlier visit to the Charis, I had the privilege to lodge at her place. It is a bit to call it a thanks for that time, but I thought that I could have her eat our prided dishes back home this time. My father is a lost case in many regards, but his cooking is reasonably good. Rather, it’s delicious.

“Hmm, I see. I-It’s quite popular, i-isn’t it?” Elf-san muttered while gazing at the restaurant with its steady flow of coming and going people during lunchtime.

And she is right. It is popular. I think I have not seen people lining up even outside the restaurant for a long time. The hardworking poster girl has been absent, so it is questionable whether it is actually operating properly.

“Y-Yes, so it s-seems…”

However, the popularity was not limited to just my home either. The second-hand-shop run by Mika-chan’s family next to our restaurant was overrun with many people, too. The store opposite of our restaurant, and the store neighboring ours on the other side were all flourishing just as much. Maybe some sort of event or festival is currently being held nearby. Occasionally it becomes this lively, if that kind of gathering takes place.

“Umm, I can prepare for us to eat in my room, s-so please, s-step inside.”

“Sorry for all t-the trouble. I owe you for this.”

“No problem!”

I think I will be able to hear about the situation if I ask my father. Or I could also ask one of the regular customers, if they are present. Adventurers are usually up to date, so if there is something going on inside or close to the capital, they will tell me for a bit of a discount.

With that out of the way, I entered the restaurant together with Elf-san. And immediately after stepping inside, I was greeted by familiar faces.

It had been common knowledge that I was absent from home, so my sudden return caused surprised looks. The view of everyone, including my father, was that I might have been kidnapped by a high-ranking noble to become their plaything in bed.

Well, I feel like them thinking so might have been inevitable. After all, we are talking about Tanaka-san here. Even I had expected that things would develop in that direction. Rather, I cannot understand why he has not made a move on me yet. He did not even try to make any passes on me. In spite of us being in contact almost every day, it looks like he has not taken any notice of me. My pride as a woman has been continuously hurt because of that.

But, I do feel his eyes on me.

To be honest, I don’t quite understand what he is thinking.

“…You really haven’t had anything strange done to you?” My father asked me in front of all the customers after appearing from the kitchen.

You are terrible, Father. You completely lack consideration towards your adult daughter of marriageable age. Far below Tanaka-san.

“I-I haven’t had anything done to me!! I have been t-treated very well!”

“Is that so? But, t-that maid attire of yours…”

I understand what he is trying to say. Most recently I have grown completely accustomed to these clothes. As soon as I rise early in the morning, I naturally put on my maid outfit.

“That has nothing to do with a-anything. Many wear clothes like these when working under a noble.”

“I-I see.”

“That’s why, umm, c-could we stop talking about this…,” I answered while naturally casting fleeting glances at the customers.

This is quite embarrassing, okay?

“Yeah, s-sure. Still, it’s great to see you safe and sound. I’m also happy to see that you’re doing fine.”

“……”

I wonder what right he has to say something like this. If I consider all that happened so far, I regretfully find myself unable to believe a single word.

“so, err, what to say… Will you be able to live over here for the time being? I’ve left your room as it was.”

“Why?”

“Right now…look…things are dangerous out there, right? Even the neighboring Pussy Republic was attacked by the demon king’s magic and had its castle blown away. You heard the rumors, didn’t you? Dragon City, was it? That sort of tiny provincial town will be blown away with one shot if the demon king attacks it, you know?”

All the regular customers present in the restaurant voiced their agreement with my father. But, personally I consider Charis to be in a far worse situation. Tanaka-san and Dragon-san have already left this place, after all.

“Compared to that, Charis is incredible, you see? A great magician working at the imperial court, who is accompanied by a huge dragon, has been kind enough to protect us in this city. Because of that, people have gathered from the neighboring countries and every day has apparently been a huge merrymaking,” he explained while surveying the restaurant’s interior as if telling me to take a good look.

In response, the customers repeatedly nodded while adding their verbal affirmations. Everyone, without any exception, was smiling. I am sure that they are completely believing in that story just now. However, regardless of whether it is the truth, it seems that the emperor has made such an announcement.

“……”

Now I understand why the restaurant was flourishing. And it also causes me to feel very conflicted about it.

The people mentioned in my father’s story are Tanaka-san and Dragon-san without a doubt. But, those two have already returned to Dragon City. They are completely engrossed in town-building. The people who are supposedly protecting Charis are not present in Charis anymore.

For this very reason, I took it upon myself to come back home.

“Hmm? What are you people talking about?”

Suddenly Elf-san spoke up in doubt. Following that, the regular customers with my father in the lead started to lecture her on this and that with an attitude as if being flabbergasted by her being so slow on the uptake. Their lecture was about the matter of Charis being hit by Demon Queen-sama’s magic when Tanaka-san visited the city several weeks ago.

If the other party had been some strangers, it would be unnecessary to explain the circumstances while going so far as to buy myself the enmity of everyone present. But, the ones inside the restaurant were my father and the regular customers who have been patrons of this restaurant for a long time. And this maid felt a significant amount of sympathy to these people as well.

Therefore, I took the liberty to explain everything, in a broad manner. I talked about the things revolving around Dragon City, as far as I knew about them. I mentioned that it had been Dragon-san, the mayor of Dragon City, who had spared the Penny Empire to be embroiled in a huge disaster. And I also explained that the magician, who had been acting together with her, was my master.

I might have gotten worked up while talking about all this. Right now, I feel somewhat hot.

“Is that the truth? You say Baron Tanaka, but he was just recently executed,” my father objected in doubt.

I guess he is talking about the public execution.

“T-That is not how things are! He is alive and well!”

He encountered many dangerous situations in the past, but Tanaka-san lived through all of them. Thanks to this, I could not even begin imagining him dying nowadays. No matter how terrible a time he would have, on the next day he would suddenly appear as if nothing had happened.

But, despite appearances, he was someone who didn’t get exposed to society overly much. During the case of the dragon subjugation, he was being rumored to be my apprentice. And even after he became a noble thanks to that subjugation, only bad rumors were circulating about him.

—————- End of Part 5 —————-

“That’s why, umm, D-Dad! I’d like you to come to Dragon City with me. I got permission from Tanaka-san. He will also prepare a restaurant in the best part of the business district for you. He told me to inform you that it’s fine for you to stay temporarily, even if only until the matter with the demon king has been settled…”

“The guy from back then has said such things? A-As might be expected, that’s…”

I remember that Tanaka-san mentioned that it would be effective to bring up celebrities at times like these. And people fitting such a title are staying in Dragon City these days.

“Her Highness the Princess is with us as well! Also, t-that Hero of the West!”

With my words being the sole evidence, the impact was lackluster. Accordingly, this maid requested help from Elf-san by allowing herself to cast fleeting, pleading glances at her.

Tanaka-san also taught me that it was essential to get as many people behind you as possible. Whenever I was working in the office, he occasionally dropped by and passed on such tidbits of various knowledge.

“There is n-no doubt about this. I a-also met these two people i-in the city over there.”

Wonderful. Elf-san was kind enough to give a testimony in my favor.

Hearing her words, the atmosphere inside the restaurant completely changed. Customers all over the place started to speak.

Thank you, thank you!

Back when I received these lessons from Tanaka-san, I only listened to them with half an ear. I thought that he did not need to tell me such obvious things. But, now that I was on the side of the one having to persuade others myself, I could really experience the value of his words.

Being able to talk about natural things in a natural way is an indispensable skill.

“…Is that really true?” A merchant asked after having been silently listening to our conversation close to Father.

He’s a regular customer of our restaurant. I remember him bragging about his exploits on countless occasions while drinking his ale. As far as I have heard from him, he seems to be a fairly rich man. He is also similar to Tanaka-san in randomly staring at my butt and breasts.

“That Dragon City is a town located along the border between the Penny Empire and the Pussy Republic, correct? If I recall correctly what I’ve heard, the FitzClarence family took over the rule of that area after the Baron Tanaka family was disowned.”

It sounds like I have drawn his interest.

As someone managing the accounts of Dragon City, I want to use this opportunity here to advertise our city. Most recently Tanaka-san and Dragon-san have been expanding the city while full of motivation. Increasing the merchant traffic at this time will certainly become a benefit for the city.

“Y-Yes! Its territory adjoins the Pussy Republic! Also, in addition to the two people I mentioned moments ago, Est…Viscountess FitzClarence is also staying in the city. I have had the privilege to take care of her needs until just the other day.”

“What!? I-Is that really true!?”

“If you cannot believe me, umm, it would make me happy if you were to visit us by all means.”

“Hmm, that’s yet another quite unexpected development…”

Beginning with this dialog, questions rained down on me from all parts of the restaurant.

Tanaka-san, I did it! This maid got through to them!

It appeared as though I had drawn their curiosity. In addition to Her Highness and Hero-sama, our city housed many other important celebrities such as Drill-sama or Aufschneiter-sama. At that point, this maid felt like going for the win, wanting to give a full explanation of the city and its situation.

If my words could spread among the merchants as a rumor, it will become a huge benefit for Dragon City. Since the city’s income and expenditure has been reeling for the last few weeks because of the steady inflow of refugees, I believe I should grandly advertise our city in order to help our budget.

If she does this, this maid will be able to run the accounts with a good feel. I will also become able to increase the fodder expenses for the nui without any worries.

Let me attract as much attention to our city as possible here.

“Sorry, there is something I would like to request from you, Edita-san.”

“Hmm? W-What is it?”

“I wish to stay here for a while to help out at home…”

“Oohh, I see. In that case I-I will come pick you up in a-a few days.”

“Thank you very much!”

Every once in a while, this maid wishes to taste a sense of accomplishment with everyone else as well. Of course, I’m no good at fighting. I cannot wield swords or magic. But, if it comes to manipulating the gossip inside a city, it is no exaggeration for me to state that you could describe that as the territory of a town girl. I haven’t been working as a poster girl in a restaurant for show.

Indeed, I have no choice but to do my best.

“Hey, did you eat already?”

“Ah, about that…please prepare something for me and her.”

“Sure thing. There’s free seats in the back, so use those.”

“Eh? Ah, b-but, the other customers…”

“My girl has come back for the first time in a while, so they wouldn’t mind me spoling you a bit, right?”

“Dad…”

Sometimes my father also says some cool things, doesn’t he?

After ordering two meals from my father, I took Elf-san, heading to the seats in the back. In regards to the location, this table was separated a bit from the other customers, allowing one to eat in relative calmness.

“What, so he’s a fairly d-decent father, isn’t h-he?”

“Maybe he is.”

I mean, you may say this or that about him, but he brought me up properly.

Afterwards I waited for the food to be served while idly chatting with Elf-san. In the midst of that, I forgot to lend an ear to the stories of the customers which were audible inside the store. It seems like the topic of Tanaka-san and Dragon-san came up frequently.

In this case, it looks like it’ll be extremely easy to spread new rumors. People tend to readily chat to others about the things that interest them. Taking into account my experience thus far, I think I’ll be able to get some sort of response within a few days, if things spread quickly.

After a while, our food was brought to our table. A huge, steaming bowl was placed in the center of the table.

“Dad, umm, this is?”

“How about it? Amazing, isn’t it? I used my treasured stash of reserves for this.”

The menu was my favorite bowl dish. It was Father’s creative cooking of placing various ingredients on top of the local staple food. The main feature of this dish was the half-cooked egg that had been dropped in the middle of it all. By mixing this with the other ingredients, you could achieve supreme bliss.

However, the bowl in front of me was unusual in size. Usually, the dish was put into a bowl you could lift up with one hand, but this time the food was inside a big pot. Normally, we would use this pot to eat soup with everyone during somewhat colder seasons.

“That’s q-quite a big bowl. What sort of egg i-is this?” elf-san asked, appearing to be quite interested.

In addition to the bowl, individual plates were put down in front of me and her, implicitly telling us to distribute the bowl’s content amongst each other.

“Dig down happily with the two of you! It’s something I can only obtain rarely!”

I didn’t quite understand, but well, it does look delicious, so I will take him up on the offer. Even while I have been gazing at it like this, a nice aroma has been tickling my nostrils. Since I couldn’t eat this anywhere but at home, I unconsciously ended up drooling. Moreover, it was a special treat, limited to today.

“Bon appetite.”

“I-I guess I shall dig in as well.”

After placing some of the dish inside my own, smaller bow, I took a first sample.

Thereupon…I wonder why…

“gh…”

“Oohh, this is…”

…but it was delicious.

No, isn’t this way more delicious than I expected? Especially the egg on top is pure bliss. The egg’s true taste gradually permeated my mouth, passing on an unbearable feel of tastiness. Naturally, it spurred on my appetite. At once, the number of words between us dropped with Elf-san and me wolfing down the food. As she had apparently taken a liking to this dish as well, she was solely focused on this wonderful food.

The area around Elf-san’s dyeing yellow was rather cute.

“Alright, going by your state, it looks like you guys took a liking to this.”

“Dad, what sort of egg is this? It’s super delicious.”

It was my first time to have ever eaten such a wonderful egg. I could eat these everyday in bulk.

“Well, I don’t really know either, you see.”

“…Eh?”

“We talked about various things earlier, but at one point a magic circle appeared above the castle, you know? And then a huge dragon appeared, unleashing a piercing, heroic breath and thus making the sky above the capital painfully bright.”

“O-Okay…”

“The egg fell down on that day. It broke through the roof over there, suddenly crashing into our home! Look, that place over there has been mended with wooden planks, right? The floor has caved in as well. It fell down over there. And yet, the thing didn’t have a single crack in its shell.”

“……”

I could certainly see the traces of repairs having been done where Father was pointing with his eyes. Those were new since they didn’t exist before I left this place. Wooden planks had been nailed into the ceiling and floor. Even an amateur like me could tell that this workmanship was new.

And thanks to that, anxiety reared its ugly head inside my heart. Elf-san had also stopped eating, now staring at Father.

It was this maid’s first time to see her so startled.

“I thought I’d soon gather some folks and eat it, but now that my daughter has come back safely, it’s Daddy’s duty to celebrate this properly, right? How was it? Be honest about it. I don’t even think that I can achieve a better taste than this.”

“……”

“……”

“What’s wrong? Was it so delicious that you don’t even know how to describe it? But I gotta say, cracking that egg open was a real chore. I struck it with the kitchen knife many times over. At the end, I borrowed a mithril sword from the weapons dealer close-by and finally forced it open.”

Dad’s voice sounded oddly distant. What should I do?

“Since it was so big, I had to pay special attention to regulating the boiling. It’s a miracle that I managed to get it into this perfect, half-cooked state. Even if you told me to repeat this feat, I wouldn’t be able to promise that. This bowl is that much of a masterpiece after all.”

We ate it. We ended up eating it!

“Hey, d-don’t tell me…this i-is…”

“Y-Yesh…!”

“…What’s wrong, you two? Why are you pulling such weird faces?”

There is no doubt about it. The unfertilized egg of Dragon-san has ended up in this place. Moreover, what makes it so troublesome is how delicious it tasted. The eggs born by Dragon-san are way, way too delicious. To such a degree that I find myself praying that I will be able to keep eating it, despite having found out about its origin.

How should we face Dragon-san from now on?

Suddenly her lovingly stroking her bulging belly back then crossed my mind. An overwhelming guilty consciousness gnawed at the heart of this maid for having eaten this.

“……”

“……”

Probably Elf-san is harboring such strong emotions as well. She has been staring at the bowl in front of her with a very complicated expression. Her eyes fixed on the broken egg yolk on the top play of the bowl, and the very appetizing scene of that yolk having spread between the other ingredients.

Illustration of Sophia-chan and Sensei eating their bowls. Sensei looks at Sophia with shocked eyes and stuffed cheeks. You can see Sophia's profile as she looks back just as shocked. In front of Sophia's big boobs stands a big bowl with a shiny liquid on top of rice and a wooden sppon inserted.

“Say, S-Sophia…”

“Y-Yes!”

“This is, err, what to say…”

“…I-It’s alright! I understand!”

“Yep, it’s…it’s because it’s such a rare opportunity. I mean, now that it has become l-like this, it would be r-rude to not finish this, right? That girl a-also suffered quite a b-bit to give birth to it. In that case, it’s probably p-proper for us to e-enjoy this! Probably!”

“Y-Yes, I believe it is as you say!”

Sorry, sorry. Please forgive us. Dragon-san, please forgive us.

Despite knowing the circumstances, we couldn’t stop our hands from reaching for our bowls. Even while knowing that it was wrong to do so, our hands acted on their own. My favorite dish, which had taken the shape of a huge pile in a big pot, decreased at a crazy rate, and before long, the two of us ate up everything.

Dragon-san’s egg was too delicious for words. And it was slightly scary how it seemed to change my view on her lovely appearance as she cared for her belly.

Several days have passed since I sent Sophia-chan back home. With her absence alone, my office ended up feeling awfully spacious and deserted.

This busamen had been doing his paperwork at the desk installed in the middle of the room. He was tolling away while staining his fingertips with ink in an environment lacking ball-point pens, not to mention accounting software.

And even as I was doing this, the Loligon was doing her public works. Since I couldn’t afford to lose to her, I let the pen fly across the documents in an attempt to get this done as quickly as possible.

Just when I had a few documents left to process, an ikemen visited my office. 2

“Forgive me, Tanaka-san. Do you have a moment?”

“Oh, Allen-san?”

Ever since the incident with Ester-chan’s transformation into a succubus, the members of Team Orgy have been living in our mayor’s mansion. Knowing about their messy fucking around, this virgin has stayed clear of them since it was obviously suicidal to get anywhere close to their rooms, making this our first meeting in a good while. Or to be precise, I think the last time we saw each other was during the examination of loli bitch’s state.

“It is rare for you to visit this place, Allen-san. Do you have some sort of business with me? Oh, I will brew us some tea. Please, please, make yourself comfortable over there. Just the other day, Edita-san bought very tasty sweets in the capital for me…”

“Ah, no, you don’t need to go this far for me…”

It was inevitable for me to unconsciously become so talkative.

After straightening the papers on the desk, I got up from my chair.

“I had been thinking about taking a break soon anyway, so could I ask you to keep me company?”

“Sorry, I know you’re already busy as is.”

After ushering the ikemen to the sofas, this ordinary Japanese flat-face went to prepare the tea and cakes. Standing in the simple kitchen, separated by a single door from the office, I boiled water with a fireball, took out some of the sweets from the Noble Mage’s cooled storage, and quickly got everything arranged. Placing a tea set alongside some plates on a tray, I headed back to the sofa area.

As soon as he placed the teapot and everything else on the low table between the sofas, teatime for this busamen and the ikemen began.

Given that I had completely left these sorts of preparations to Sophia-chan recently, it felt quite fresh to do it myself for a change of pace.

“Please forgive me for bothering you to such an extent…”

“You aren’t bothering me. Please, here you go.”

“Ah, thanks. It’s very kind of you.”

Confirming Allen’s hand reaching for his cup, I followed suit. We both slurped on the piping-hot, freshly-brewed tea and then sighed deeply.

My eyes got soothed by the steam rising from the cup. Since they have been tracing small letters for many hours, this here felt even more liberating than usual. My staring game from earlier saw the city’s relatively new account book, which Maid-san had recorded until the other day, as an opponent. Recently, the number of her mistakes has become scarce, making me feel like she has begun to alienate a bit from what you’d usually call a maid.

“Umm, Tanaka-san, there is something I wish to confirm with you.”

“What might that be?”

“Actually, it’s about Ester…”

“Did something happen to her?”

Don’t tell me, they got another lover’s quarrel going…

What naturally popped up in my head was the room assignment of Team Orgy. The rooms of Sophie-chan, Allen, and Ester-chan were all next to each other. And precisely because of that striking intimacy between those three, the possibility of the princess bitch deciding things in one blow by attacking loli bitch’s weaknesses crossed my mind as a possible explanation of Ester-chan having gone missing..

“I haven’t seen her over the last few days, but I was wondering whether you know anything about her whereabouts.”

“Now that you mention it, I certainly haven’t seen her as of late either.”

Oops, my virgin predictions were off.

“A-As expected, huh?”

“Did something happen between you two again?”

“N-No. Well, it’s not like you can call it s-something, but…”

“Maybe she has gone back home. It is possible that I fanned her anxiety by telling her all this stuff about the demon queen. So it is very feasible that she went to Charis while worrying about Richard-san, is it not?”

“…You think so?”

“I find it hard to think of other reasons for her to disappear from your side. Maybe she headed over to Trichuris. I have been holding deep respect for her way of handling things as Viscountess FitzClarence.”

“……”

Let’s send a quick messenger to Richard-san for good measure, telling him that his daughter might have gone back to the capital. As for Trichuris, I’ll leave that side to Gon-chan.

“…Umm, T-Tanaka-san.”

“Yes?”

“Err, how to say it…umm…”

It’s rare for this ikemen to be at a loss for words. He was repeatedly casting fleeting glances at me.

If you check me out so much, I’ll become overly conscious of my receding hairline. Most recently, healing magic right after waking up has become an indispensable daily routine. When I find a good time for it, I plan to switch my hair cut to an intense two-block cut. Soft Mohican hairstyles and such seem to also be an option, right?

“Is there anything weighing down on your heart? I will help you if it is within my power.”

“N-No, it’s n-nothing…”

“I see. For the time being, I will also ask Gonzales-san for help. The clan led by him possesses a base in Trichuris. They have quite some pull with the guild as well. I will ask him to inform you, if they should spot her over there.”

“Sorry for imposing on you like that.”

“Given this sort of information, I’m also deeply concerned about the whole matter. It is only natural for me to do anything I can.”

“……”

Despite appearance, that bitch got quite a formidable sense of responsibility as dame ruling over a fief. Maybe we won’t be able to find her in either Charis or Trichuris. In the past, there had already been a time when she skipped her studies and went to her territory all by herself.

Besides, even when it comes to combat prowess, you can’t underestimate her at all. Her abilities are in no way inferior to Sophie-chan who officially serves in the Magic Knight Order. The stats of nonhumans are usually high, so she looks rather weak in comparison, but in the eyes of human society, you could call her plenty strong.

“It’s alright. I’m sure we will find her soon.”

“No, umm…actually…”

I was still in the middle of my talk with the ikemen, but I could already sense the presence of someone else in the hallway. Going by their noisy, quick footsteps, they seemed restless and in a hurry. It was clear that someone was running towards this office.

Of course, this floor houses other rooms as well, but I could somehow tell that they were making a beeline for my office.

Going by past experiences, it’ll most likely turn out to be the Loligon, I estimate.

And sure enough, moments later the door was flung open without the other party knocking. While feeling troubled about this behavioral pattern of hers, I made up my mind to show her someday a masturbation scene with the face of a victim. I wonder how she’s going to respond to that.

As I allowed my mind to indulge in the delusions of that, I focused my attention to the direction from where I heard the sounds.

But, instead of the Loligon, I found Edita-sensei and the Noble Mage standing in the door.

“Hey! W-We finished it, you k-know!?”

“Come with us! RIGHT NOW!”

No sooner than rushing into the room, they ran up all the way to the table between our sofas. Both looked very excited. Their eyes were sparkling like crazy.

If they had the same type of voice, it would have been impossible to tell apart who said what.

Which reminds me, I’ve seen these two sticking together awfully much across the last few days. Seeing them now speak and act as if they had synchronized to a terrifying extent, I ended up feeling quite envious.

“…What happened?”

Moreover, even if they tell me that they finished it, I don’t have the slightest clue what they’re talking about. I’m merely overwhelmed by their drive here.

This virgin is convinced that he’d bawl within two seconds on the day he heard about those two having made a child.

“Life Potion!”

“Life Poshn!”

Sensei messed up, fumbling her words.

Shoot! As always, she’s one hopeless Elf-san.

gh……”

My blond, thicc loli sensei lowered her head somewhat, her face bright red. Gazing at her acting like that soothed my heart.

“What happened to the life potion?”

Instead of sensei who had become speechless, the Noble Mage began to explain.

“We achieved huge progress in the research we succeeded from you! Finally we have come one step closer to the life potion! Come to the research facility right now!”

“I see. If that is the case, I shall take you up on that offer.”

Being taken away by those two who were loudly cheering, this ordinary Japanese flat-face left his office.

Being dragged along by the two researchers who were still brimming with excitement, I moved from the mayor’s mansion to the research building. Flasks and tubes made out of glass in all forms and shapes were placed on a big table in the center of the laboratory, making it obvious that they had probably lent money from somewhere. Moreover, the insides of those flasks and tubes were filled with vivid liquids, some circulating while other were being stirred.

And at the end of a tube system stood a single glass filled with a bright red liquid.

“T-This is!” Edita-sensei raised her voice the instant this ordinary Japanese flat-face picked up that glass after staring at it for a moment.

“What is the liquid inside this?”

“Oh! That is our own creation without relying on any of the water in the spa.”

“It is o-outstanding, isn’t it?” Sensei declared with a shrill voice.

Next to her the Noble Mage kept nodding deeply.

“Still, was there some sort of trick to this, seeing how it took you just a few days for an item that has been researched over several hundred years thus far? You having been able to contort it so easily makes me feel a considerable amount of doubt about this whole thing.”

Even at the Academy City I heard whispers about the Life Potion and research revolving around it on countless occasions. In spite of a special research group having researched it for like an eternity, there hadn’t been any progress for several centuries. No one other than Edita-sensei had told me about that.

“Ah, speaking a-about that…it has been a product of c-coincidence. That’s why,” explained Edita-sensei with an emotional expression.

“Meaning?”

“We could confirm that spiritual bodies had melted into the bath, where you led us to, for some reason.”

“Spiritual bodies?”

“Yes, indeed. We don’t know the reason for it, but there’s no doubt about them being spiritual bodies.”

No need to guess any further; it must be that girl, who has been haunting that bath as a ghost. Ever since the incident with Christina, she has been living there. In the past, she had appeared in front of this ordinary Japanese flat-face many times over, just to bitch around.

“And that spiritual body was the key to Life Potions.”

“…I see.”

For sure as hell I won’t tell them that the stock of a mature lady served as the main ingredient here. I mean, that would definitely make it hard to drink that potion.

“Let me explain from the beginning.”

“Oh, okay. Please do.”

After clearing her throat once, Edita-sensei started to talk, “Just as a-anyone knows from mana potions, it’s f-fairly simple to dissolve pure mana in a potion, if it’s done by someone w-with a minimum amount of required mana. Or in other words, everyone is p-probably able to achieve some result with it as long as they i-invest some time.”

“Right, I have been taught the same.”

“However, if it c-comes to mana with a clear o-orientation like healing, dissolving it into a potion is accompanied b-by extreme hardships. You should u-understand if you r-recall that you didn’t b-bring it to perfection either, d-despite your r-ridiculous mana pool, right?”

“Yes.”

The result of me doing my best was a bathing powder stop.

“However, if you blend p-plenty of spiritual body into a p-potion in advance, you become a-able to add mana with a healing attribute to the potion, something that remained impossible u-until now.”

“Oh, I got it.”

“However, although w-we managed to confirm it a-as phenomenon, we haven’t yet r-reached the state of clarifying t-the underlying principle. If you consider something l-like a spirit body as ingredient that’s f-fairly close to humans, it’s possible to understand the chain o-of reactions to some extent, but of course that w-won’t serve as proper explanation.”

“Having said that, I believe it to be quite amazing for you to have reached a state of actually contorting a potion.”

“If we had been able to reach this stage with effort alone, it m-might have been justified to b-brag about it. But, this is the outcome of us investigating the c-components of the liquid you provided. Even so, I t-think someone would have noticed o-one day, if it was a person e-experienced with spirit bodies.”

“No, not at all. Don’t you think it is an outstanding achievement to have been able to quickly notice all these facts?”

The blond, thicc loli sensei who acted humble and bashful, was cute. Still, I never expected that a married woman settling down in that bath would contribute to mankind’s development in such a way. It’s such a great feat that it wouldn’t be weird for her name to be mentioned as second author in the event of the manufacturing process for Life Potions being recorded in a thesis.

“By the way, this Life Potion u-uses a melted part of m-my spiritual body.”

“Eh? Really?”

I’d love nothing more than to gulp it down right now. It’s got absolutely nothing to do with the ingredients, but for the time being, I’d love to put it into my mouth. I want to digest it and turn it into a part of my body.

“The magic to manipulate your s-spiritual body is quite difficult. Unless you use the hot w-water left in the spa, it become n-necessary to prepare a-another spiritual body by yourself. And this i-is also the main issue with mass-producing Life Potions. It’s nothing t-that could be prepared b-by anyone.”

“I see.”

If that’s the meaning here, I think it won’t be any problem as long as we let married women soak in hot water. It’s something I’d love to enjoy very slowly for the next while.

“So, what are you going to do?”

“In regards to what?”

“We need funds t-to run the city, right? If it’s u-urgent, we can produce Life Potions from the c-current water in t-the spa. If you s-so wish, we can also use this f-facility to produce several.”

“Hmm…”

We won’t be able to find any other support as strong as this, considering how we turned the Great Holy Land into our enemy. Rather than it becoming a source of funds, there’s more value in officially announcing it having been discovered in our city. If the production method were to be announced elsewhere because the manufacturing method was leaked somehow, it’d be the worst, wouldn’t it?

We already know the recipe to make it and it’s not a situation where we would want to keep it hidden either, I think. In the worst case, I can invest my remaining skill points in the skill for manipulating spirit bodies. That should allow this ordinary Japanese flat-face to produce Life Potions as a standalone unit.

“I am certain it will trouble you, but please do me the favor. Let us combine the alchemized Life Potions with bathing powder and sell them at the city’s stalls. I would like to get a read on the market’s response. Would that be alright? If you have an opinion on this, I would love to hear it.”

“No objection f-from me. Let’s get started at once!”

“H-Hey! I’m going to help as well, okay!?”

At the same time of sensei agreeing, the Noble Mage raised his voice in panic.

The two headed to the work table while looking cheerful. They seem to have a real blast with this.

Since this ordinary Japanese flat-face didn’t want to get in the way, he quickly left the research building.

It would take me some time after this to recall that I had heartily pissed into the spa in question here in the past. Moreover, Shotachinpo’s dick had also soaked in the water over there.

Even though the sale at Dragon City’s stores had already started, I made sure to never take any of it into my mouth.

Having left the research building, this ordinary Japanese flat-face headed straight to the spa in question.

Because I had asked Gon-chan to keep an eye on the bath, I couldn’t spot any people there. At present you could only hear the hot water free-flowing out of the source on its quiet way towards the drain.

This is what I’m talking about. That’s the right feeling. As I thought, the real pleasure of spas are these sounds and the billowing steam.

As I allowed myself to relax while gazing at the bath, a change occurred in the bath.

“Hey, wait a sec. Why are you pulling such a serious expression?”

“Oh my, long time no see, Nannuzzi-san.”

“…Humph!”

A semi-transparent, humanoid figure surfaced on the water surface.

This busamen shall take the liberty to obstinately insist on a 30-years old woman, who was exposing her nude body as always, making him feel a bit of a resistance after having been surrounded by pretty teen girls most recently.

Seeing how she was at my age and had already lost her hymen, she was something that could be labeled as unnecessary. Her big tits which wobbled around with each of her casual movements, her extremely voluminous booty, or her unexpectedly tight abdomen; all of these didn’t catch my eyes. Considering her age, her nipples were rather small. Them not having been sucked sufficiently didn’t concern this virgin in any way.

I was completely disinterested in her. And that’s why I communicated with her while pretending to be calm.

Right now at this moment, the negotiations with her were of extreme importance.

“Why are you wearing clothes?”

“I came here because I have something I wish to talk about with you.”

“Hmmm?”

She scrutinized me with a haughty attitude, as if evaluating another person. On the other hand, she showed no shame about that conduct either. I guess this is how a woman acts after having her pussy seen more times than she could count.

“Allow me to get straight to the point. Why are you staying in this place?”

gh…”

Being confronted with that blunt question, the married woman’s shoulders jumped with a start, trembling. Naturally, it caused her tits to tremble in tune.

“Is something the matter?”

“W-What? Do you plan to drive me out from here by chance?”

I could see her looking quite scared. I wonder why. I feel like there’s more to it than her just having no other place to go to.

“No, no, I do not plan to do anything like that.”

rh…”

The married woman was panicking. Her tits were swaying.

Shit, she’s a mature woman, and yet…not bad…honestly.

“As a matter of fact, it is planned to tear down this facility in the near future. And since I suddenly remembered you, I came here to explain. Given that the schedule plans for workers to start in the near future, I would be delighted if I could get you to move to another place.”

“W-Wait a sec! Didn’t you yourself say so earlier!? That this place is to be preserved and that no one is to enter here since the water of this place can become Life Potion!?”

“Oh, you heard that?”

“I’d like you to not underestimate me! So, what about all of that!?”

“Indeed. We have confirmed various things about this matter and decided to demolish this place.”

“Wh-…”

The married woman’s face froze.

All I had told her moments ago was a lie. A lie for the sake of getting the upcoming discussion to move at my pace. It was something you could immediately realize if you thought about it for a moment, but I apparently managed to splendidly trick her.

In other words, this bath must be a fairly important place for her.

“W.Wait! I won’t allow that, you know!?”

“Why?”

“Look, that’s, u-umm…something like destroying…the bath…after building at long last…”

“……”

Her eyes were wandering all over the place. She’s clearly troubled to no end.

I have a premonition that it’ll be my first time ever since I was born that I’ll be able to talk with a woman of my age on equal footing.

“If you would be as kind as to tell me everything honestly, it would be possible for me to cooperate with you, you know?”

“Ugh…”

Pretending to be very nonchalant about this, this ordinary Japanese flat-face allowed himself to inquire about the circumstances weighing down on her.

In response, Nannuzzi-san hatefully responded, “I-If this hot bath is gone, my consciousness will gradually fade away!”

“Is that how it works?”

“I can vouch for it since I’ve been teaching this at the Royal Academy! Very likely, the components in the water here carry an effect allowing me to retain my current state as a spiritual body! That’s why I can’t be away from this place for long!”

“I understand.”

Edita-sensei had said something similar during the previous strife over Charis’s Atelier. She mentioned that people would start to slowly lose their ego a little while after becoming ghosts and eventually end up vanishing altogether. I guess the water here carries an effect to prevent that from happening.

“Ah, damn it! All of this is your fault! Your fault alone! Because of you, I can leave this place for ten days. And yet, you go all over the place! I absolutely hate you!”

“Well, I do feel sorry for the events from a while ago.”

The bath over here serves as a lifeline for her. In that case, it’s very convenient for this ordinary Japanese flat-face.

“Would another bath be out of the question?”

“It wouldn’t be as adapted to this body as the bath over here. Probably I have achieved this sort of state because I soaked in the water here for a long time. I mean, there’s no other difference between the bath here and other baths, right? If there’s any other difference you know of, tell me right away.”

“You are right. The elements in the water are mostly the same in all baths. Except for your existence, that is.”

As might be expected of a teacher of the Royal Academy. She may say this or that, but she managed to get a good grasp on her own situation.

“As I thought, huh? Nothing less of me!”

It appears the existence of a spirit body isn’t just the main ingredient needed for a Life Potion, but soaking in that Life Potion the ghost created allows it to prolong its normal lifetime for a very long period of time. Now that the production method for Life Potions has been established, it’s probably possible to use a bath suited for her existence, even if it’s a bath different from this one. But, there’s no reason for me to expressly hint at that. Of course I’ll take it into account, if she notices that fact herself, though.

“I understand. If it is like that, we will let you live here.”

“R-Really!?”

“It is not like it is in exchange for that, but could I request your cooperation on a certain matter?”

“What is it?”

“You have listened to my conversations with others in this place, right? In that case, I believe you are already aware of it, but the bath water over here has an effect as Life Potion. And your existence is being regarded as one of the components needed for that Life Potion.”

“…Hmm? Is that so?”

“Yes, that is so.”

“You tricked me, didn’t you?”

“No, one of my friends excels at magic that can manipulate spirit bodies, beings like you are right now. Depending on your answer, another option would have been to destroy this bath right now and here in the sense of monopolizing the Life Potion.”

gh…”

“Seeing how we have already collected spirit bodies from beings other than you, we have found out a method on how to artificially contort a Life Potion. This part is definitely no lie. And based on that I would like to negotiate with you. Nannuzzi-san, won’t you lend us your assistance?”

“…You’re a truly terrible man.”

“Can’t you please make it somehow work?”

“……”

Once I pressed for an answer, the married woman acted as if being worried about something. I’m sure she must be guessing the reason why she was being asked for cooperation. Those aren’t her words, but there was a reason why she was allowed to hold a teacher’s cane at the Royal Academy. She’s a person who should try to challenge anyone when assuming that they’re above her in the simple sense of being smarter than her.

Personally I believe it’s quite incredible that she can stay so calm about things even at the eleventh hour like now.

“I have one condition.”

“What might it be?”

“There’s that boy who discovered that the water here serves as a Life Potion, right?”

“Indeed.”

She’s talking about Shotachinpo. It sounds like she has witnessed his trumpet as well.

“If you frequently send that boy over, I won’t mind cooperating with you.”

“……”

For real? This married bitch was a shotacon?

I just realized that fact here and now, but I’m a lolicon myself. I fully understand that youthfulness alone already has a charm that is hard to be substituted by anything else. Therefore, I cannot deny her desires either.

“How about it?”

“I’m unable to give you a reply right away. I need to obtain his consent first.”

“Really? I’ll be waiting for a positive answer then.”

“By the way, if you are fine with me, I could at least serve as a conversation partner as well.”

“No, thanks. An ugly dork like you is unnecessary.”

“……”

Figures…

This is the logic of this world. Forgive me. I got carried away too much.

“Okay, please allow me to wait for his consent before giving you a final answer.”

“H-Hihi, I’m looking forward to it.”

If there’s one good thing about this, it’d be her inability to physically grab his dick in her current state. Thanks to that, it should somewhat lower the degree of difficulty when I bring up this topic with Shotachinpo. After all, it’ll be impossible to propose it to him with the precondition of him having to fuck her.

But, well…I don’t really want to have such a dirty talk with him. It’s kinda like a pimp offering prostitution to a girl for the sake of cash. The other party isn’t a woman, but a man, however.

As I walked through the corridors of the mayor’s mansion in order to visit Shotachinpo, a familiar face coincidentally came around the corner.

Neumann.

No sooner than this ordinary Japanese flat-face entered his visual field, Neumann ran up to him.

“Tanaka, do you have a moment?”

“What might it be?”

“People from the Penny Empire have arrived. I’d like to request your verdict on how to deal with them.”

“I see.”

It sounds like we received another batch of refugees.

“How many are they?”

“I think maybe a hundred and several dozen? Their clothing didn’t look bad.”

“That’s a considerable number of people.”

“Can you head over?”

“Very well, I will go there right away.”

I think it’s fine to postpone the talk with Shotachinpo.

Being led by Neumann, this busamen headed towards the refugees. Leaving the mayor’s mansion, we went towards the gate on Penny Kingdom’s side which had been added to the outermost wall of our city. I used flight magic for the journey.

I don’t know how it’s handled in Charis, but we’ve decided that it’s fine to use flight magic inside Dragon City. After all, a dragon works as city mayor, so it only makes sense.

Members of the Twilight Clan were already in the middle of dealing with things on-site. Several carriages had been parked next to each other inside the shadow created by the outermost wall. People were surrounding the vehicles, freely killing time as they wanted.

Around a dozen Twilight Clan members were standing on guard as if monitoring the new arrivals.

This ordinary Japanese flat-face landed near them with Neumann. Noticing our arrival, several clan members on guard duty ran up to us. As usual all of them had scary faces, looking like machos. They were holding weapons and wore helmets and armor. However, their armor lacked any sort of unity.

They had become the official knight order of Dragon City. The city was also in charge of their equipment, but we had simply handed the budget to Gon-chan and left the provision of equipment to his own volition. Thanks to that, their appearance was now all over the place.

But well, it’s each to his own when it comes to equipment anyway. Engineers who wear a suit all year long are completely unbelievable.

“Greater Big Brother! Please deal with this!”

“Please! Greater Big Brother!”

Even after this ordinary Japanese flat-face became a noble or the Twilight Clan was officially promoted to being a knight order, their passionate, sweltering tones didn’t change. If I had to mention one thing that did change, I’d say it’s my name change from Big Brother Tanaka to Greater Big Brother.

“Alright, leave it to me.”

I responded to their bowing with a bow of my own, and headed to the refugees. Seeing me coming over, the other side probably judged me to be our side’s representative and a fairly well-dressed person approached while accompanied by several buff men. He’s probably some sort of noble or wealthy merchant. Taking another look, I also spotted quite the luxurious items on his carriage.

“Are you the representative of this city?”

“No, someone else serves as representative of the city. I’m someone you could call their proxy.”

“That means you aren’t the mayor, okay. Are you Baron Tanaka?”

Oh, somehow a guy knowing the strange circumstances showed up. It’s been decided that Baron Tanaka has died, though.

“Are you a merchant?”

“Yes. We have been running a business in Charis thus far.”

“So, why did you come here then?”

“I witnessed the battle against the demon king in Charis with my own two eyes. A huge magic circle floating in the sky and the dragon’s roar which overpowered the circle. And on top of that, the rumored magician who has tamed the dragon in question.”

The man cast a fleeting glance behind this ordinary Japanese flat-face. He apparently focused on the Loligon Tower extending all the way into the clouds from the center of the city.

“I have become interested in Baron Tanaka, an outstanding magician like that.”

“I see.”

“I have heard that the city over here is currently recruiting residents. If it would be permissible, we would also like to enjoy the privilege of being allowed to live in the home city of the baron. Could you please grant us that request?”

“You might already know, but currently this city isn’t part of the Tanaka Barony, but the FitzClarence Dukedom. Therefore, official business is occupied by merchants of the FitzClarence faction. You do not mind that?”

“No, we don’t. We would be delighted if you allowed us to create our own little business opportunities.”

“…I see.”

Well, I guess it’s fine in that case.

Something like throwing out all the merchants except for those coming from Richard-san’s place would be impossible after all. Besides, I feel like things would become dicey in the future, if we were to be hated by merchants. Especially since the merchants of this world handle the entire goods distribution, except for wholesale and marketing.

“How are things going at Charis right now?”

“They have been flourishing over there. Nowadays our neighboring countries are plagued by fierce attacks from the demon king, and the Penny Empire is the only country that repelled those attacks from the front. People gather not only from the neighboring cities, but also foreign countries. It has become very lively over there.”

“I see.”

“However, I didn’t expect that the leading actor of that defense would have built a city in a place like this. I have heard about the baron earning money with public bathhouses at the border to the Pussy Republic, but for that town to have transformed into such a fortress city is truly unexpected.”

“You are exaggerating.”

Hehe, praise me more.

It made me feel slightly nice.

“The wall over here is also marvelous. It outclasses Charis by leaps and bounds.

“You can tell?”

“Yes!”

He’s probably the type of guy who has already washed his hands of Charis. Though I’m slightly curious what sort of rumors are circulating.

I guess I’ll ask Edita-sensei to send me over. While there, I can also drop by Sophia-chan’s home. That’s a very great idea, I must say. If things go well, I might be allowed to partake in Maid-san’s handmade cooking or some such.

I want to drink soup seasoned by Sophia-chan’s thumb.

“I understand. If it is like that, we will welcome all of you.”

“Ohh, thank you kindly!”

After making his verdict, this ordinary Japanese flat-face passed the remaining work to the Twilight Clan. And then he flew over to the lovely alchemist just like that.

【Sophia-chan’s Point of View】

Several days had passed since I came back to Charis. Helping out with the family business for the first time in a while felt unexpectedly fresh, making this a rather nice experience. The flow of customers was superb too, stoking up my motivation even further. If I had to name a complaint, I guess it would be the point of me being forced to wear my maid uniform even while back at home for some reason.

Since it has been requested by our customers, I have been wearing it.

By the way, my family’s restaurant was scheduled to wrap up the business at the end of today. Tomorrow we would be preparing to move, and the day after we would travel to Dragon City. This sort of arrangement was what I had agreed upon with Elf-san who had visited our restaurant three days ago.

Usually, relocating from one city to another would be a huge task requiring several weeks. But, thanks to her magic, this turned into an odd job not even requiring several days. I must say, I believe she is a truly amazing person. I cannot help but to respect her from the bottom of my heart.

“Hey, Sophia-chan! I’d like to order!”

“Sophia-chan, me too!”

“Coming!”

Answering the customers’ calls, I whirled across the floor. I thought that I would struggle with working on the hall for the first time in a long time for two or three days after coming back. But, that didn’t happen. I was startled that my body didn’t get tired at all, no matter how much I worked. Rather, the more I moved, the more I got in the flow of this job. It’s a bit scary.

Of course, I now had the leeway to listen in on the conversations of our customers, too.

“Come to think of it, did you know? The rumors of the Great Holy Land.” “Oh, yeah, I heard. The oracle was a lie or something, right?” “Yeah, that. But, is it really true?” “Who knows. But I did have my suspicions for a while now, you know?” “The story about the Hero of the West being a traitor was quite sudden, too.” “No kidding.”

“Did you know? The story about Baron Tanaka, who had his head lopped off, actually being alive?” “For real? I saw his execution, okay? His head was seriously cut off.” “Yeah okay, but my acquaintance went to meet him and apparently saw him moving around just fine.” “Seriously?” “Also, the spa was really relaxing, he said.” “Spa? What’s that?”

“Did you hear that a new town was completed at the border with the Pussy Republic?” “Yeah, I totally did. It appears to be surrounded by a tall wall.” “I hear that place came out completely unscathed when they got attacked by a big number of demons.” “No way! You’re kidding!” “No, no, I heard that from a guy working over there. He’s a member of the Twilight Clan.” “Holy shit…”

“Did you hear about the story of the dragon who protected the capital from the demon king?” “I saw that dragon with my own eyes. It was really incredible.” “As a matter of fact, that dragon had been kept by Baron Tanaka before his death, you see?” “Eh? Really?” “Thinking of the now dead baron, it came here to protect the city where the baron used to live.” “Are you sure?” “Also, I heard the dragon has become the mayor of a town alongside the border.” “…Haaah? A dragon as mayor…what’s that about?”

“Is it true that Princess-sama has gone missing?” “Yeah, I heard this from an acquaintance working at the palace. It sounds like she really disappeared.” “If it’s that story, I know the continuation, okay?” “A continuation? Does it have one?” “Rumors say she has been captured by Baron Tanaka in a town along the border.” “For real? “Hey, wait a sec. Going by the version I heard, the princess asked to be taken along.” “Huh? What’s up with that?”

The rumors propagated by this fake maid were spreading nicely. They got warped a bit here and there, but that’s within my expectations. These kinds of rumors can be heard in various parts of the city, and not only in this restaurant.

The results are superb. It’s not like I spread rumors about the Great Holy Land or the princess, but well, favorable winds can never be too strong, can they?

I feel a slight sense of accomplishment.

At some point, new customers showed up. The bell at the door chimed, causing a light sound to reverberate through the restaurant. Of course, it was my job to guide the new customers to their table, so I headed over to the door in a hurry.

Thereupon, the entrance was crowded with people for some unknown reason.

“Is this the place!? The restaurant that spread the rumors about my daughter’s whereabouts!!”

“gh!?”

The person having just now entered our restaurant was…w-what is going on here…? Isn’t that the king of the Penny Empire? If it is just his face, I have seen it in the past, too. I had the privilege of receiving an audience when I went together with Tanaka-san on the occasion of the dragon subjugation.

It was anything but normal for royalty to visit personally instead of inviting one over. Moreover, the place he was currently visiting was an ordinary eatery in the city.

“You, the girl over there!”

“Y-Yesshh!?”

“Was it you? Did you spread rumors about my daughter?”

“Eh? Ah…”

No way. Were my rumors possibly the reason for this or some such?

No, no, I mean, I didn’t plan on propagating such grand rumors that it would cause the king to rush over. Also, it’s a false accusation to label me as the one having talked about the princess’s whereabouts.

This maid would never――not even by mistake――spread such a dangerous rumor. However, granted the reality in front of this maid’s very eyes, her life was in danger right now. It was easy to imagine a future of being arrested, tortured, and beheaded. It seems like I have misread the situation a tiny bit.

“I said the truth, didn’t I!?”

“No, t-that is, umm…”

I was over. Everything was over. My life was forfeit.

“Is my daughter safe!? Is she truly at Dragon City!?”

gn…”

I couldn’t speak up properly out of sheer nervousness. Sweat was oozing out of my skin at an amazing rate. At this point it was overflowing like a waterfall. The color of the area under my maid attire’s armpit changed in no time. Moreover, I started to feel my stomach cramping up, causing me pain I could do nothing about.

Ah, what should I do? What should I do in this situation?

Things in front of me became pure white.

Yep. so white that it shone――

gh!?”

No, please wait a moment. Isn’t something actually shining?

In the meantime, a magic circle had appeared in a corner of the restaurant as if to interrupt this maid and the king. Everyone was surprised. The guard knights behind the king rushed forward in panic, readying themselves against the magic circle.

Moreover, chairs fell over, tables were toppled over, and tableware broke all over the place. Aahh, the restaurant…things have become terrible here. Even my favorite glasses, of all things, now lay in pieces.

While all of that was going on, a visible change occurred to the magic circle. Suddenly the figure of a person atop the circle’s shining lines.

“Oh my? What a surprise to find you here, Your Majesty.”

It was Tanaka-san. Tanaka-san had made his entry. Moreover, I could see Elf-san next to him. I am sure they have come here from Dragon City with her magic. It’s that space magic which had been a great help for this maid on several occasions.

“T-Tanaka-san…!”

“It is quite the coincidence for us to meet in a place like this, isn’t it?”

The quiet voice of Tanaka-san thundered across the floor. In spite of the king being in front of him, he felt aloof. Many knights were pointing their drawn swords at him. Even though he was looking at their points, he didn’t show the slightest hint of unrest.

Somehow it is vexing how he is acting so extremely cool. It caused my heart to throb reflexively.

“I see, Baron Tanaka. So it was your words that took her from me, huh?”

“Forgive me, but what might you be talking about, Your Majesty?”

“Where is my daughter? Answer me”

“…I see.”

After letting his eyes wander across the room, Tanaka-san apparently grabbed the flow of the conversation. He nodded lightly at the king’s question. Maybe the rumor of him having kidnapped her is true. My heart is throbbing so hard that it actually hurts.

“I took the privilege to take her to the safest place in this world.”

“Is this your revenge against me for having imprisoned you? Not only did you break out of the jail, but you even perpetrated an execution play that involved my daughter. I expressly kept you alive so that you wouldn’t need to go through all the trouble, and this is how you repay me!? Can’t a man like you understand something so simple?”

“No, no, you got it all wrong. This is my consideration towards you, Your Majesty. Besides, I protect my life by myself. There exists no need for me to get protected to the extent of relying on your help. Of course, I feel extremely grateful about your kindness, though.”

“W-What was that!?”

“This time’s matter has been personally approved of by Her Highness the Princess.”

“No way! How can you say something like that!?”

It was a sight which would usually be unimaginable. The likes of a lowly baron was talking to the king without even kneeling. It wouldn’t be odd for him to lose his head right now and here. Thanks to that, everyone present watched the chain of events while appearing extremely astonished.

The gathering of people wasn’t limited to the restaurant either. The people, who couldn’t enter the floor, were peeking inside through the windows. I am sure the carriages of royalty must have parked in front of our restaurant. I could not think of any better advertisement.

However, I guess it’s regrettable that the next opening won’t happen at Charis anymore.

“Sophia-san, I don’t fully understand the situation, but let us head to Dragon City. Now that things have developed in this direction, it will be difficult for you to run your business in Charis. In the worst case, you could get arrested.”

“O-Okaaiiee!”

This maid secured her father in a hurry.

I extended my arm and forcibly seized him, who had been timidly watching the situation unfold from within the crowd of people. In a hurry, I moved both of us close to Tanaka-san and Elf-san. If one of us was left behind here by some freak chance, we would not survive this under any circumstances.

“I-I don’t quite understand, but I just need to take us back to Dragon City, r-right?”

“Sorry for keeping you so busy, but please do.”

Following Elf-san’s question and Tanaka-san’s answer, a magic circle manifested under our feet. Without so much as a moment’s delay, that circle started to shine dazzlingly with a buzzing.

“Wait! We are not done talking yet!”

In the next moment, the king leaped at Tanaka-san. Even the knight seemed to not have expected such erratic action. Not a single one of them could react to this.

“Ah, hey!”

The magic activated alongside Elf-san’s surprised voice.

The familiar restaurant interior and the people crowding that place all disappeared in an instant. It became pitch-black in front of me. This alone was something I wouldn’t get used to, no matter how often I experienced it. It took a short moment, but I felt very anxious.

And then, when light flooded my visual field again, we were floating in the sky.

“Hii!?”

There was no sensation under my feet. Reflexively I bent my knees to cower. Looking at my side, I saw my father reacting in the same way. It was a scene that vividly reminded me that we were father and daughter.

“Ugh, we transferred t-to a place slightly off t-the destination…” Elf-san muttered in annoyance.

“W-W-W-What’s g-goin on hereee!?”

The king was as surprised as father and I were. Even so, the reason for us being afloat in the sky without falling to the ground must very likely stem from Elf-san and Tanaka-san having used magic to make our bodies float as soon as we arrived.

“It is a rare chance, so please allow me to introduce this to you, Your Majesty. Over here is the city ruled by Duke FitzClarence, the best fortress city that connects the Penny Empire with the Pussy Republic – Dragon City. But well, it still lacks the population which would allow it to call it a city.”

gh…M-My daughter is h-here?”

“Yes.”

“……”

The king was at his wits’ end with the sight below him. This is just my selfish imagination, but he’s probably checking the huge walls repeatedly surrounding the city. Looking at them from up here showed how overwhelming they were. I didn’t know the details all too well either, but these walls exceeded Charis’ by far.

Such a city had been erected within merely a few months. And its center was adorned by a tower so tall that you couldn’t see its peak.

“Sorry, but Edita-san, could you send His Majesty back to where he came from?”

“Eh? Y-Yea, I don’t mind d-doing that, but are you really s-sure?”

“Yes, please.”

“W-Wait! Let me meet my daugh…!”

A few moments later, just Elf-san and the king disappeared. Watching that happening, Tanaka-san whispered, “It’s soon about time, I guess.”

“Eh?”

He turned around, his eyes turned into the direction of Charis in the far distance.

Translation Notes:

  1. Basically a soba dish eaten as celebration for having finished moving.
  2. I’ll leave ikemen untranslated since it’s a nice contrast to busamen. You all should know the meaning of ikemen anyway
