Chapter 328: Gyaaaaaaaa!!

After leaving the doggo boss room, we plunged right into the twenties. Already on the 21st floor, the area was suddenly wrapped up by jet-black darkness. Up until the 20th floor, the dungeon was more or less like a labyrinth with atmospheric corridors continuing on and on, but this place…
“Gyaaaaaaaa!!”
*crackle crackle*
I discharged electricity after screaming, before clinging to Sword.
“Hey!? What’s wrong!?”
I trembled violently without being able to answer him.
“Hey, come on and tell me what’s goin’ on. Did something happen? …Ryoku, can you tell?” Sword asked the Ryokus with a flustered voice.
“Plenty of insects, which Mother hates, have appeared,” a Ryoku answered.
“…..Eh? Indra is a bug-lover, no?”
“There exists one sort of insect she can’t stand. It looks like those bugs have built their nest on this floor.”
I became stricken with despair upon Ryoku’s report.
“Whaaaaaa!! That’s a big no! I won’t be able to advance any further!” I cried.
*
“They’re scary. Sword, I’m afraid!”
“I got it, I got it. Don’t look n’ touch ’em, ‘kay?”
As I got soothed by Sword, I somehow managed to calm down, albeit while still sobbing and trembling.
“Did you use the lightning magic from before?”
I nodded. Even though I discharged electricity at once, it still didn’t manage to exterminate them!
“…So…you can actually use large-scale annihilation magic, can’t you?” Sword commented while looking appalled.
“It didn’t kill all of them! Some are still alive! Nyaaaa!!”
Sword got panicked when I screamed.
“Gotcha. I’m sorry, so don’t cry, ‘kay?”
Sword hugged me.
“””We will sally forth!”””
The horbs flew out of Ryoku’s pod and started to continuously kill the remaining bugs with electric shocks.
“You gonna hide in Ryoku’s pod?” Sword asked while patting me, but I shook my head.
“I’m…adventuring!”
I’d totally hate for Sword to capture this dungeon while I’m hiding away!!
“Alright… ‘nyway, we’ll get rid of the remnants by defeatin’ ’em with the spell you used earlier. We’ll get rid of the ones you missed. Get onto Ryoku. ――Ryoku, you carry her!”
I was handed over to Ryoku.
*
I unleashed my electric shocks many times while clinging to Ryoku. In addition, I also exterminated them by using other means such as freezing with nitrogen.
Only at times like these, my eyes, which let me see everything, are a burden. Sword, on the other hand, equipped the glasses allowing him to see everything, and started precise attacks to get rid of each and every bug. He was freely employing the guns I gave him earlier.
Sword seemed to have a real blast, but I didn’t want to see any of it. When it comes to these bugs, it doesn’t feel like a game either!
“Okay, all clear.”
He announced something I remember having heard somewhere before
“How many points did I get?”
Without me noticing, Sword had begun to compete in points with the Ryokus!
*
Halfway through the twenties, insects similar to flies started to join the battles. I hate flies as well, but they aren’t as scary.
Rather, I welcome the flies since with them joining, those things decreased a bit in number.
Still, just what the hell are the floors? Some sort of vermin zone!? These floors would be impregnable against anyone coming from the other world, definitely!
While heaving with sobs, I told Sword, “T-These…are…f-floors…set up a-against…the b-braves…from the…o-other w-w-world. O-Otherworldlers…h-hate…and go…right b-back.”
“…I see. Well, you becomin’ like this means other folk from that world would be far worse off.”
But even while saying that, he was apparently looking for help through messages.
『I was, well, a corporate slave. Leaving aside whether I’d be alright or not, it wouldn’t be as bad as me turning around and leaving. Though I suspect Lady Indra and Miss Scarlet wouldn’t be cope with this』
Mr. Amato answered Sword.
The response from Damsel Scarlet was:
『No, no, no, no, no, no, no, absolutely impossible! Noooooooooooooo way! I’d turn around and leave right away! Please don’t send any pictures, no matter what! The topic itself is taboo as well!』
Yep I totally agree. But, I cannot go back.
“Okay, looks like you people are bad with these bugs. As far as I’m concerned, they’re just a sort of insect bug. But, are they treated differently in the other world?” Sword asked.
I nodded with all my heart,” N-Natural enemies…of…o-otherworld people. M-Mr. Amato, true hero. I-I will respect h-him.”
“………Hee,” Sword said while narrowing his eyes.
What’s with that look? Does he not believe me?
Even Damsel Scarlet would agree on this!
『Right, they are the natural enemies of mankind!!』
Damsel Scarlet confirmed for me via messaging.
『I kinda feel like having heard of something like that, yeah』
Mr. Amato wrote irresponsibly and noncommittally.
Damsel Scarlet and I are telling the truth!!!
*
“Anyway, I’ll get rid of ’em all, so just watch.”
For some reason, Sword got all pumped about this.
People in the otherworld saw them as natural enemies, and yet they were regarded as just another species of insect monster in this world, right? Besides, even if I’m told to watch the extermination, I don’t really want to look at them, so no thanks.
*
While they were in a state where you didn’t know whether they were hot and cold because of the nitrogen freezing and electric shock, Sword was peerless.
He was making short work of them at a quick pace by freely wielding his guns.
The Ryokus and the horbs also kept slaughtering them at a rate that didn’t lose out to Sword.
『Mr. Sword, Mum, I want to participate as well』
Even Char started to beg from inside the pod, but that’s a no!
“I won’t allow that! You’ll get dirty! You can’t fly as fast as horbs, so it’ll become a huge mess if those things swarm on you!” I yelled with my voice having now completely changed.
『I will deploy the magic element barrier~』
Being told so, I remember, “Ah, you did have such a function, didn’t you?”
But, I really don’t want him to get sullied by those things…
After reluctantly giving my permission, he leaped out and flew off. And then he extended automatic guns from his eyeballs…err, round windows and started to fire away. Furthermore he fired his rocket launchers into clusters of them.
The enemy swarming towards him were taken down with a combination of magic element barrier and defensive electric shocks. Quite peerless, I must admit.
But…why had even Char become so belligerent?
Well, his way of talking is cute, so whatever, I suppose. Still, what’s with him wanting to attack so much that he even went as far as pleading.
