“Ugh…”

Sword laughed at me groaning, “She’s simply like that. Don’t take her seriously.”

Lynn was taken aback.

“Raising monsters? A tamer then?”

Sword and I shook our heads at his question.

“Wrong. It simply means I can understand monsters. Smart monsters transmit their intentions by adding their thoughts to their magic elements and sound waves. As such, it’s a matter of question whether the receiver can use magic to decipher their telepathic messages. Because I can use such magic, I talk to them and promise them safety in exchange for receiving milk, eggs, and threads from them. …Are you unable to talk with them? One of the Kingdom’s braves took over the monster-caring task since he possesses such a skill, you know? He’s happily chatting away with them. And he’s also being toyed with by the monsters, too.”

Lynn shook his head while flabbergasted.

I placed a hand on my chin and pondered, “Hmm, I see. Maybe it’s a skill fixed to the braves on the Kingdom’s side. Well, given that they’re suddenly being brought into this world from a place with a completely different language, god or some other being, who 『created this world and established the concept of summoning people from other worlds』 must have added that skill as beginner’s help.”

Sword looked at me with a fed-up expression, “…The gods as you know ’em truly lack any sort of dignity, don’t they?”

“Bah, I’m an atheist, okay? Other people might believe in gods, but I don’t believe that such gods actually exist. I just enjoy it as a fictional story that assumes their existence. But, as long as I don’t see a god myself, I won’t ever believe in them being reality.”

“…Considerin’ that, you did believe in the existence of flyin’ brooms, no?” Sword retorted without a moment’s delay.

I became sulky.

Isn’t it fine!? I mean I actually built them too!!

“Flying brooms exist?”

Lynn was surprised, having completely stopped crying by now.

“…Why are the humans of this planet, ah no, you were a demonkin, weren’t you…? Why are bipedal intelligent lifeforms getting triggered by flying brooms so much? Here, look at this. I made it!”

I took out a broom and showed it to him.

Lynn’s eyes started to sparkle. This guy is definitely a kid in an adult’s body!

“I’ll show you how to ride it,” said the other kid in an adult body.

Sword snatched the broom out of my hand, nimbly straddled it, and flew off into the air.

“Ooh! Incredible!” Lynn kicked up a fuss.

Hey, weren’t you just moments ago crying and depressed? What happened to all that?

“Please let me ride it as well!” Lynn begged.

“Again a guy, huh…? Sure, why not. But aren’t there any cute demonkin girls around? This is a vehicle for girls, you know? Well, I’d be willing to compromise on a cute boy as well, I suppose!”

Well, I’d also be okay with a pretty witch flying my brooms. Yet, only some old dude is flying around on it, huh?

Sword had apparently caught my words, descended and ground my temples.

“In the first place, this ain’t a vehicle boys or girls could actually handle. Something like fylin’ about in a skirt would be suicide in all sorts of meanings for normal girls, no?”

Boooo!

Lynn begged me once more, “Please let me ride it!”

“…Well, sure.”

I reluctantly lent a broom to Lynn. I guess it’s fine since he’s handsome enough. If I take a picture and send it to Damsel Scarlet, it might make her happy.

Sword briefly taught Lynn, and then Lynn quickly got on and flew off.

“Ooohh, that’s a brave for you.”

It’s the first time since the pretty witch Duchess Ally for someone to master it right away. As Lynn was flying around, the demonkin swarmed closer, looking up to him with their mouths agape.

Sword quietly drew close to me as I was watching Lynn, and whispered, “My personal one…”

“I’m going to tattle on you to Ryoku!” I roared in no time.

Holy shit! Why is he so obsessed with flying brooms!?

After Lynn finally got his fill and came back down, we were surrounded by demonkin, wishing to fly the broom as well.

Weren’t you hostile towards humans, demonkin? You’re not going to say that you don’t consider me to be human, are you?

…Or rather, demonkin seem to be big kids.

Being taught that humans are bad, they obediently believe it without asking why humans are bad. They immediately start crying if you are slightly harsh or cruel on them. They stop crying when they’re given candy. And they immediately jump at any toy that looks somewhat interesting.

Yep, they’re kids!

“Calm down. For starters, we’d like to have an audience with His Majesty the Demon King. Afterwards I’ll lend you a broom. If we do it now, the day will end before everyone got a turn, right?”

Once admonished by me, the demonkin dropped their shoulders in dejection.

“Demonkin sure are childish,” I muttered.

“I fully agree,” Sword consented whole-heartedly.

After being guided by the demonkin, who had apparently come to invite us to an audience in the first place, we entered the audience room.

First Lynn went ahead, kneeling down in front of the demon king. Standing behind him, Sword asked me telepathically, 『What’s the plan?』

『Let’s stand here and watch what happens next. If it looks like he’ll allow us to have some fun in the dungeon, I’ll kneel. I’ll also kneel once I know for sure that he’s a Dungeon Core』, I answered Sword telepathically.

Because the demon king was on the side of a curtain I couldn’t see him. But, I could feel his presence. Moreover, he was surrounded by a fairly big amount of magic elements. It’s the biggest amount among those I’ve met so far.

I can’t tell whether he’s a dungeon core or a last boss. But, if he’s the last boss, I want to go through the proper steps before fighting him. If he’s a dungeon core, it’d be fine to unveil the chemiluminescence first, if he allows us to play in his dungeon.
