Afterwards, we came up with all sorts of other ideas and suggestions, and after scrutinizing all of them on feasibility and what products are going to be sold in Bennyboy’s shop, I altered the design accordingly and finalized the blueprint.

“Okay, now we’ve got to get started on production. Bennyboy, you’re going to provide the materials. This time you’ll only need to pay for those while Sword and I will handle the rest as a gift for you setting up your first store. Oh, and since Damsel Scarlet also added some ideas to the plan, please sell your goods to her with a friendship discount, if she visits your shop.”

“I look forward to the finished shop. Oh, Lady Indra, can I ask you to produce our home at some point as well?” Damsel Scarlet asked with an evil smile.

I shrugged my shoulders, agreeing, “As long as you can handle the maintenance, I won’t mind. However, I’ll limit it to just drawing up the plans and magic tools. A ducal family should have contact to decent contractors anyway.”

After giving her that sort of reply, I drove Damsel Scarlet back to the academy, before returning to the base and building the modules.

Plana and Sahad were super hyped about getting started on this, too.

First, we began with the production of the acrylic plates. Given that they were made out of magic elements and magic stones, you should rather call them fake acrylic plates, though.

As a result of trial and error, our version had a higher permeability than normal acrylic plates, leading to them becoming so transparent that you could only believe that things are floating if you put them on top of those plates.

Plana was overjoyed about this.

“Lady Indra, this is truly amazing!”

“You’ll actually be in danger of not knowing where those plates went, if you put them down somewhere without marking them first!” Sahad pointed out something very pragmatic and reasonable while expressing his admiration of the product itself.

Following his advice, we wrapped up the plates in cloths.

In addition, I asked Plana to cut the parts out and lacquer them. Meanwhile I had Sahad work on the stone pillars with his earth magic.

Sword went out to procure the materials which Bennyboy couldn’t supply. Our servants also helped us out in various ways, probably thinking that this looked fun.

With the assistance of the craftsmen of Ys, we completed the creation of the components. And since all of them were so kind to help us out, I called them over, and lightly assembled the parts on the spot.

“Alright! It has reached a promising level.”

Sword looked up to the house, blurting out in astonishment, “…Your ’bout the only person who would be able to build a house as if it’s no big deal at all.”

“I created it based on that idea! It relies on the knowledge of past people, you know? If you plan houses like this, you can later take them apart, if you’re going to move to another area, and put them together on-site once more. Well, its durability is going to be unreliable if you just assemble it, so I plan to drive in some props in addition. Because this is just an unveiling of the concept, I put it together loosely as a showcase. What do you think?”

All those who had come to take a look were fascinated by it, but since it was the default for my servants to praise me, I couldn’t put much trust into their words. And even the crafters, who built it together with us, were probably quite confident about their own craft, so they were in the middle of praising their own skills. Therefore, I’ll use Sword and Mr. Amato’s opinions as reference here.

“It’s just like a house you’d see in movies or attractions! I think it’s great!” Mr. Amato exclaimed.

“Ain’t that just fine like that? It’s got some playfulness to it, too.”

Sword also gave it passing marks.

Paper lanterns were floating inside the building while giving off a gentle, soft light. The drones, now called 【Horb】, were buoying around while also glowing lightly. It was planned for them to handle security and cleaning, once the building was reassembled in the capital.

I built a fairly big number of the horbs and deployed them at our base as well.

Because I copied the Ryokus’ AI into them, and had them learn the mansion’s maintenance on top of programming how to fly into them, they were quite capable from the get-go. Since I had used our servants and maids, who were mainly in charge of handling the maintenance, the horb had relatively calm characters (at least at the moment), unlike the Ryokus which had used me as reference.

I also had applied a layer of acrylic magic stone on a part of their exoskeleton, so they were also glittering as a special feature.

I couldn’t unveil the basement part of the building during this presentation, but since the evaluation of the surface floors had been good, I decided to take the whole thing apart and bring it to the capital just like that.

Mr. Amato filmed a video of the construction for Damsel Scarlet.

How kiiiiiind of him!

And yet, he’s a guy who’s reached wizardhood, isn’t he? Does that mean it’s a bad idea to be too much of a good boy?

Even if there exists a significant age gap between Damsel Scarlet and Mr. Amato, I want to cheer for them if they’re going to enter a romantic relationship as fellow otherworldlers, but above all that looms the fact of Damsel Scarlet being a ducal daughter.

Given that marriage among nobility is based on the family’s interests and not love, her marriage with Mr. Amato, who should have originally headed out to subjugate the demon king as a brave, seems improbable as a noble supporting the royal family.

Well, neither of them has extended their feelers towards the other anyway… Oh, the same applies to me as well!

After loading the parts onto Char, we departed to the capital. I established a road connecting Ys directly with the capital to make it easier to travel between both. Thanks to that, we were able to drastically shorten the journey, which would have usually taken several months!

Ah, by the way, Leemon and the other Taking It Easy members are always accompanying me. Once we got back to the base, they opened their stall in a corner of our base, and as soon as we arrive in the capital, they’ll open it over there as well! They’re stall employees, after all!

When we joined up, Bennyboy let his deep gratitude free reign.

“I saw the video! It totally rocked!”

I nodded repeatedly while humming.

“The design of the wine corner in the basement is going to be the exact opposite. You’ll like it. So please look forward to its completion. Anyway, let us start with the construction.”

First comes the foundation. According to Bennyboy, the employee housing has already been finished since they kept it simple. Apparently Bennyboy wants me to add a sewage system to his home though.

And given that Damsel Scarlet desires the same as an integral part of her home’s reconstruction, I called her over and gave her a run-down on-site.

“It would be easier if you could catch a slime like our lovely Slirin and have him handle the maintenance, but I think that’ll be impossible. I’ll set it so that certain parts of the processing will be handled by magic tools, but in the end, you’ll need to rely on human labor. Thus it’ll be doomed to fail as long as you can’t find any garbage cleaners. Bennyboy, have you taken care of that part?”

“I put guild slaves under contract!”

“”Whoa!”” I cried out in harmony with Damsel Scarlet.

According to Bennyboy, slaves will cut less corners than unskilled adventurers, no, you should rather say, they can’t cut corners. In case they skimped on the cleaning and lied about having done it properly, the guild will take full responsibility for the damages caused by this. And it’s obvious that they’d get their dues plus interest back from the slave in question afterwards. Therefore, it’s normal for slaves to do their work diligently.

“…I will consult with my father. Or maybe my mother has some connections…”

Damsel Scarlet was troubled, but if she didn’t resolve that issue first, the rest would probably remain impossible.

“Anyway, that’s the first hurdle. In addition, you have to decide on the location. Since you said to build it behind the employee housing, I’ll add a sewage pool over there. After the water has been purified, you can let it flow into a river, recycle it, or let it evaporate. At the base we’ve been letting it evaporate, but we also reuse it to water the garden and similar. Our restaurant also uses evaporation. Since the capital over here has a drainage stream, we’ll use that.”

Damsel Scarlet typed everything down on her tablet PC. As might be expected of a younger, modern person like her, her typing was pretty fast.

“If the drain pipes running through the building break, you have no choice but to renovate the house itself. I have properly noted the pipes’ locations in the blueprint. You won’t have much of a choice but to rely on crafters. I’ll build them so that they can sustain for a few decades, but they’ll still break if something happens. I’m an amateur when it comes to stuff like this, so I don’t know the details either. You just gotta press your thumbs and pray!” I explained, adding a fairly irresponsible comment at the end.
