Chapter 30 – Consultation

On August 30th, Yuuta came back to his room in the Exclusive Male Zone. By now, he had recovered most of his stamina and muscle strength, but he still wasn’t at 100%.
“Sorry for causing you so much grief and worry while I was unconscious.”
“All I care about is that you were able to wake up without any complications.”
When Ayaka received the message that Yuuta had fallen unconscious and wasn’t waking up, she stayed in contact with Boss and Lilith even while being in so much distress that she felt like her heart was being squeezed by a vice. Her somehow convincing Aoi and the other girls to have Yuuta transferred to Lilith’s research facility while shedding tears at the hospital was a godsend, as it led to Yuuta waking up in the end.
“I assume you have already heard about today’s topic from Lilith?”
“Yes.”
“I have now recovered all my memories.”
“I’m truly delighted that you have remained yourself even after retrieving your sealed memories, Yuuta-sama.”
“I locked a part of my memories away, but in the end, they were all part of me to begin with.”
The distance between the two as they sat on the sofa was negligible. Basically, they were glued to each other like lovers.
For Ayaka, Yuuta was the man whom she had offered her body and heart, just like the other girls. If she, who had turned thirty-four this year, were to lose Yuuta, a man who was treating her as his lover, she’d seriously lose all will to live on in this world.
“I ended up being somewhat late in informing you of this, Ayaka-san, but my relationship with Tomoe-san has progressed as well.”
“I heard so from Tomoe-san herself after you woke up. I’m happy for you two.”
Tomoe was thirty years old. No matter how quickly Ayaka and Tomoe would become Yuuta’s lovers and give birth to his children, it would only happen after his wedding with Aoi and Yukishiro next year. At that time, Ayaka would be thirty-five years old and Tomoe thirty-one.
The medical technology was pretty advanced in this world, so the risk of miscarriage was relatively low. Still, Yuuta thought it’d be best to be as quick about it as possible, when considering their feelings and wishes.
“Thank you for helping me with Suzune-san’s matter. Please extend my gratitude to Boss, too.”
“I hear the retrial will be held in September. It’s exceedingly swift, but that’s because you wished for it, Yuuta-sama. It seems like the matter reached the prime minister’s level in no time. Because of the issues and facts at hand, the court was more than willing, as a retrial was the correct approach here and bears meaning.”
“I’m glad to hear this…Suzune-san was about to spend the rest of her life in jail because of me.”
“Suzune-san’s mother will likely be overjoyed to hear this, too.”
The pain and suffering from having her daughter imprisoned for life on a charge of sexual assault against a man probably couldn’t be expressed with words alone.
“First, we have to get through the retrial, though… Suzune-san’s mother and Nagisa-san, who is Suzune-san’s best friend, want to support her as much as possible.”
“Okay, I understand.”
Suzune’s mother wasn’t living in Toukyou at the moment. Due to Suzune’s case, she found it difficult to continue living in Toukyou with its Exclusive Male Zone. She was currently living in Yokohama, near the Kanagawa Penitentiary. Nagisa had likewise moved to Yokohama since she got sick of living in Toukyou where people were showering Suzune with nothing but scorn and slander. Right now, she was living close to Suzune’s mother. She was also the sole person Suzune’s mother remained in contact with.
Nagisa had continued her work as a kindergarten teacher; apparently, rumors from her previous workplace had followed her to Yokohama, leading her new colleagues to learn that she was Suzune’s friend, which in turn left her completely isolated at her new workplace.
“Yuuta-sama…,” Ayaka started, but stopped at that point because she didn’t believe it was her place to say it.
However, Yuuta picked up where she had left off, “I wish to meet my Mom.”
“……”
Yuuta had confessed at Lilith’s research facility that he had sought his mother’s love when he was younger.
“But, that is not permitted in Nihon.”
“…Yes.”
“Even though it has taken such a shape nowadays, something must have led to such a system. That’s why I can’t demand special treatment either.”
Plenty of men should harbor the wish to see their mother. In the same vein, many mothers should desire to see their son. If someone found out that Yuuta was being treated differently, it’d become a huge problem.
“Also, there’s Naoto-kun’s case too…”
“You mean Takashi-sama’s son, correct?”
“Yes. Naoto-kun will become an elementary school student in less than two years. The parting with his mother is drawing closer.”
“That’s…”
“Inevitable, you mean? Yes, I know as much. However…”
He wanted to help them somehow. But he didn’t know what to do.
“Lilith-san promised me that she’d arrange an occasion for me to discuss this matter with the prime minister.”
“I have heard about that.”
“What should I…tell the prime minister there? Even though I myself am unsure what would be the best way forward…”
Ayaka didn’t have any advice at hand to alleviate Yuuta’s worries. This was a matter affecting the current state of Nihon…the society as a whole.
“I would love to be of assistance to you, Yuuta-sama, but…I don’t know what you should do either.”
“Ah, no. Please don’t blame yourself for this. Just having you listen to my grumbling like this is already a big help, as it allows me to calm down.”
“I am more than happy to hear that you feel so. But, what should be done…? It would be preferable to consult the prime minister on this matter.”
“…Consult the prime minister…”
Yuuta pondered Ayaka’s unexpected remark, asking himself whether it wasn’t actually a good plan to consult the prime minister.
“You have a point…it might be worthwhile to consult the prime minister as soon as possible.”
“Eh!?”
“No, it’s smart. Yep, very smart. Nihon’s prime minister…is someone whose wish to improve Nihon is stronger than anyone else’s, isn’t it?”
“T-That’s true.”
“Now that I think about it, it doesn’t seem very logical, but I ended up believing that what I was wishing was bad for Nihon, and this would require me to persuade the prime minister one way or another. But that’s not correct. Wouldn’t it be the best approach to ask the prime minister for her thoughts on the matter, so that it could become a genuine improvement for Nihon!?”
The prime minister has the biggest overview of the options in Nihon.
“Ayaka-san! Can’t we get a consultation going through Boss?”
“Y-Yes.”
“As for the topic, we want to know what should be done for men to keep the connection with their mother!”
It might be weird to ask a conversation partner how to best discuss matters with them, but just as Yuuta said, the prime minister wished for Nihon to improve. Yuuta wanted to hear her thoughts on the matter through Ayaka and Boss.
Ayaka accepted that unforeseen request, but if it was for Yuuta’s sake, she would move. After all, the option of not moving didn’t exist, regardless of what outcome was waiting on the other end of the journey.
Afterward, they discussed various matters related to Dreamseducers’ activities. Because Yuuta would sleep in his room tonight, he entered the bath together with Ayaka, and after eating dinner, they went to bed.

Ayaka moved at once, reporting to Boss that Yuuta was seeking a consultation with the prime minister. And that request was passed on from Boss to the prime minister.

A few days later, a woman asked Ayaka, “Ayaka-san, do you have a moment?”
“Sure.”
The woman was called Hanasaki. She was a member of the Male Supervision Department, Section 1. At present, she served as Takuya’s caseworker. She had been assigned to Section 1 after Takuya was placed under the state’s complete control. Because of this, Ayaka knew nothing about her background or career.
Following Hanasaki, she entered a conference room. Inside, Tomoe was waiting for them.
“Oh? I didn’t expect to see you here, Ayaka-san.”
“Me neither, Tomoe-san.”
“Hehe, forgive me. It’s hard to call you two together with all the people out there watching.”
As soon as Hanasaki locked the room’s door, the three women sat down.
“Now then, allow me to get to the main topic right away.”
“…Of course.”
Neither Ayaka nor Tomoe knew what Hanasaki wanted to discuss. Even if it was about Takuya, both were unrelated parties.
“You two know…about Yuuta-sama’s request for a consultation with the prime minister, don’t you?”
“Huh!?”
Ayaka had shared Yuuta’s worries with Tomoe since there was no particular need to hide them. She had also briefed Tomoe on his wish to consult with the prime minister.
“Why…would you know about this, Hanasaki-san?”
The question, however, was why Hanasaki knew about it as well.
“I know about it…because the prime minister informed me.”
That made sense. The crux of the question was why the prime minister would tell Hanasaki, though.
“Well, let’s not sweat the small details. What currently matters most is Yuuta-sama’s request, right?”
“You’re not wrong about that, but…”
“Then let me start from the conclusion. The prime minister asks Yuuta-sama to help her with one matter…in return for answering his request.”
“Eh? What sort of matter?”
Ayaka and Tomoe were unable to see where this was going.
“What do you mean?”
“Back when Yuuta-sama woke up…”
Those words coming out of Hanasaki’s mouth meant she knew about Yuuta having lost his consciousness and about what happened at the time of his awakening at Lilith’s research facility.
“…Layla-san was apparently present. Is that right?”
“…Yes. She was there.”
“As caretaker of Lyra-sama, a royal who came to Nihon as part of Mir’s delegation.”
“Or so she said.”
“Layla-san was quite obsessed…with Yuuta-sama, I heard?”
“That’s…”
It definitely looked like it.
Layla had also accompanied Lyra on the nights when Ayaka and Tomoe weren’t at the research facility. She was stopped from entering the facility thanks to Moe standing watch, but based on Layla’s words, there could be no doubt about her being obsessed with Yuuta for some reason.
“Emily-san and Monica-san are fixated on Takuya-sama, but it seems like Layla-san has lost all interest in Takuya-sama, doesn’t it? I wondered whether she simply lost interest in the men of Nihon, but I was shocked to find out that she had instead changed her target to Yuuta-sama.”
Ayaka and Tomoe still didn’t understand where Hanasaki was trying to go with this. Even if Layla was obsessed with Yuuta, they couldn’t see how Yuuta was supposed to cooperate.
“Hanasaki-san…what sort of help is the prime minister seeking from Yuuta-sama?”
“I’d like him to inform me as soon as Layla-san gets in contact with him in any way. That is all.”
“…Isn’t it improbable for Layla-san to meet Yuuta-sama? Back then, it was just a very extraordinary situation.”
“I know. As long as there’s no further contact, there’s nothing to worry about.”
“It can’t be counted as much help by Yuuta-sama if there’s no contact from Layla-san, can it?”
“No, that’s not how it works. Besides, we won’t require him to help us out with this matter for a long period of time anyway.”
“Huh? Why?”
“Well, it’s related to something on our end. We would like Yuuta-sama to contact me if Layla-san makes some sort of contact with him. Could you please ask Yuuta-sama whether he would be willing to help us with this matter?”
If it was just about contacting Hanasaki, it wasn’t a particularly difficult request. It was unthinkable for Layla to get close to Yuuta, but as soon as there was some sort of movement from Layla’s side, Yuuta could simply contact Hanasaki, so this whole matter wouldn’t put Yuuta into any danger either.
“Understood. We will get back to you after discussing it with Yuuta-sama.”
“Please, I’m counting on you. Ah, I think you know without me spelling it out, but…make sure to not mention any of this to others or try to investigate me…okay?”
