Chapter 415 – Quiche Becomes a Bloodkin

As soon as I returned to the village, I reported back to Quiche. And immediately following, I welcomed Quiche as new <Head Servant Leader> in her village chief’s office at the cost of a lot of blood.
Naturally Quiche fainted. So I quickly dashed over to her side, and lent her my thighs to rest. Lash-san had been watching from the ceiling too.
Since she’s a ghost I can’t really tell from her look whether she’s angry or sad. However, she’s clearly missing her usual cheerful, inquisitive mood.
Even so, Quiche being alive was much more important for now. As she was sleeping with her head in my lap, I took a peek at the small bee tattoo on her cheek. Her cheeks were faintly red, making me touch them so as to nurse her.
Right now, your duty as Commander-in-Chief can rest. Get some good sleep…my friend. Even after you’ve become my bloodkin, I’ll still treat you as a friend.
At that moment, Quiche’s remark that she wouldn’t go back with us after the Evil Dragon King was defeated crossed my mind.
You took in children with no family and rebuilt your home…Cydale together with them.
Considering the distance from Hekatrail to this village…and although you had some children with you who can fight like Arry or Taack, moving via the Hino village while taking several kids along that need protection should have been quite the adventure.
Well, even when we met for the first time at the Bewitching Baraydus Mansion, you had children with you. So it might not have felt like such a great adventure since you and them seemed to have plenty of combat experience.
And I knew that you strongly wished to become my bloodkin in an attempt to obtain the power of a Lucival for the sake of protecting everyone at the village and killing Underground Goddess Rolga.

As I have been watching your gentle disposition that causes you to cherish your ancestors and family as well as your way of life where you’ve been doing your utmost to act as a role model of a knight and leader…I’ve started to feel very proud of you.
This is something I never told you directly, but in my heart, I admire you as a great, hard-working knight and friend, you know?
That’s also why a part of me didn’t want to bring up the matter of bloodkin with you.
However, at this point you’re already my kin, so it’s moot to talk about it now.
If your friend Sherry finds out about this, she’ll obviously become angry that you’ve gone through with this without talking it over with her.
I must meet Sherry when I get back to Hekatrail. I also must talk to Ledond, the leader of Bloody Longears, and although I don’t really feel up to it, I should also have a chat with Chardonnay…
Quiche asked me to negotiate with Chardonnay in her stead…also, there’s the dispute between Oseberia and Zamalia, and I think it’d be better if I met with Eris in regards to the guild, too.
I’ll also check Kuna’s store. I think she’s already gone, but…that sturdy door doesn’t seem to be anything that can be broken down easily.
As I considered all that I had to do and so on, I stared at Quiche’s sleeping face. She still seemed to sleep very snugly. I gently poked the tip of her nose with my index finger, but she didn’t wake up.
Anyway, I’m going to use the time until Quiche gets back up. It’s the perfect opportunity to check my status.

As I already expected, my Mana and Spirit went down. But, this was inevitable as all kinds of things occurred, such as me turning Quiche into my bloodkin, me welcoming Spirit World Knight Shuhelia as my own <Twin Blood Demon Knight>, me acquiring <King’s Scepter of the Light Demon> which combined a total of four major skills, me obtaining <Flying Motion of the Demonic Gigachad>, Goddess of Nightmares Varmina approving of me, and on top of all that, the birth of Lucy (temporary), the spirit of the Crest Tree of the Lucival.
After acquiring <Blood Path – Open Fourth Gate> and <Spring of Spirit Blood>, I also killed and absorbed divine warriors and priests, so it’s only natural for those two values to drop so much.
As for Lucy, whose name still hasn’t been decided; she doesn’t seem to have any memories of her previous existence as Iglued. Either way, as I’ve been using Lucy as a name all the time anyway, I might as well start to officially call her Spirit of Lucival or Lucy.
Anyway, let me check my new title.

After some time, I opened my eyes. Quiche was already awake.
“S-So this is how it feels to become your bloodkin, huh?” She commented with her eyes flickering.
“Yes. Let me give you this here for the time being.”
Just as I had done with everyone else, I passed a “Virgin Blade” bracelet to Quiche after she got up.
Afterwards, I continued talking with Quiche while she was staring at her palms, apparently excited about her own rapid growth and the new skills and combat occupation she obtained as new <Head Servant Leader>. I started to give her an explanation about <Blood Mana> so as to calm her excitement.
The virgin blade contained several layers of sharp blades hidden within the inner side of the bracelet. If you pressed a button on the bracelet, all those blades would suddenly come out and dig into the flesh…it was a bracelet that totally gave you the feel of being masochistic.
Training that was accompanied by pain was indispensable for acquiring the first gate, a basic skill of vampires.
I explained all of that to Quiche like a teacher while remembering what Vero-cchi told me in the past. After I told her that she’d need to take off her clothes for this training, we swiftly moved to my house with me carrying Quiche like a baby.
When I landed on the roof of my home while enjoying Quiche’s citrus smell, Puyuyu was playing around by hanging from the roof’s eaves. Seeing how its nostrils were widened, it could be excited? Well, who knows. That’s one bear cub I don’t get at all.
Leaving the roof by entering the building through the bay window on the second floor, I quickly focused on <Tree of the Evil King>, expanding the edge of the second floor. I swiftly remodeled my home by creating countless rooms on the second and third floor for my bloodkin.
Afterwards, Quiche entered the remodeled, big room. A huge bucket, which could be used for bathing, was installed on a tiered platform. I used the huge iron furnace bathroom of the underground city as reference for this.
Of course Quiche was stark naked when she stepped into that bucket. Her figure was truly alluring. Her long, green hair hid her back. Even so, Helme-chan still commented on her butt being wonderful. As might be expected.
“Helme, please take care of a water veil as a screen.”
“Okay.”
I had Helme create a water screen so as to hide the parts that weren’t concealed by walls on the wide second floor.
“So I put this on and endure the pain, right?”
“Yep. Everyone else experienced the same. So please bear with the pain.”
“Hehe, it’s nothing worthy of mention if you compare it to battle,” Quiche reassured me with a smile on her lips.
Then she started her training with the Virgin Blade. Letting blood flow into Helme’s screen, I created a gorgeous, crimson curtain. Muu, Sana-san, and Hina-san, who were spectating, were surprised by the blood scent and the prettiness of the curtain. Naturally, the same could also be said about the orcs.
They widened their eyes as far as they could while continuously sniffing the fragrant air. Then Solobo and Quema began to recite several names in a whisper. Those seemed to be the names of the eight Great Orc Gods. And immediately following, the knelt down and started to pray after crossing their arms.
And because Puyuyu squealed around in agitation, Lash-san entered my home as well while clad in bees. Rollo guarded like a maiden who knew that Quiche was currently buck-naked over here, but Puyuyu nimbly dodged all the tentacle guarding attempts.
Once it got close to the blood curtain, Puyuyu nervously extended its wand, trying to poke it with the tip. But, as soon as the wand’s tip closed in on the blood curtain, the butterflies and insects around it immediately scattered as if fleeing. Noticing that, Puyuyu started to squeal as if not knowing what was going on, became very alert, and swiftly moved behind Rollo instead.
As it peeked out from behind Rollo, Puyuyu’s body was trembling. Just when I was wondering whether it was afraid, it coiled Rollo’s tail around its own neck…or rather Puyuyu got a neck? You can’t really tell because of all the fluff.
“Puyuyu-chan, you’re not allowed to peep at Quiche-san’s naked body,” Sana-san said while going back to the living room on the first floor.
“Puyu~,” answered Puyuyu and went downstairs.
Rollo chased after it, too.
On the first floor, Sana-san joined up with everyone who sat around the table, and sat down on a new cushion located between Hina-san and Riedel. The cushion was a new creation by Dokoko. Hina-san and Riedel had been talking about its softness and fabric while smiling.
Sana-san and Hina-san apparently had Riedel and Granny Bang teach them the language. Quills and ink were laying on the table.
I shifted my eyes to Eva and Rebecca who were sitting on the opposite side of the table near the ping-pong table. As always, those two were getting along well as they munched on sweets and bread while questioning Granny Bang about the effect of the wooden tags she’d brought along earlier.
Higlia kept chatting with Ryokline about Lucy who inhabited the crest tree in the center of the training ground while being on the receiving end of Rollo’s scent marking. At first Ryokline seriously answered Higlia while nodding several times, but watching Rollo’s frantic marking, she started to laugh.
“Nyaa, nyao.”
Hearing Rollo whine like that, Ryokline tried to catch her, but Rollo nimbly dodged her hands by lowering her body. In the meantime, Higlia continued talking without paying any attention to the bollocks going on around her. However, because of the noise, I couldn’t understand what she was saying.
At times, the two wolfgirls checked the state of Ciel who was playing around with Nuko dolls and my magically-created tiger dolls. Daon wasn’t present.
“This apple sweet with its springy texture is really great. Ciel-san, make Aaahhn,” Hina-san said in Japanese.
After placing both her hands on her cheeks, she offered some of the sweets to Ciel. But, apparently not understanding her, Ciel only muttered, “Jody?”, with a smile without eating the candy. Reddish purple butterfly dispersed from a part of Ciel’s broken body.
“Shuuuya, are things going okay for Quiche-san?”
“Yeah, she’s alright,” I answered Rebecca as I took a peek at everyone’s situation from the second floor.
Quiche seemed to be curious about what was happening on the first floor too, but I had her continue with the blood training.

Eventually Quiche managed to obtain <Blood Path – Open First Gate>. With this she officially became my <Head Servant Leader>.
She immediately made sure of being able to use blood messaging as well. But, because she said something embarrassing like, 『Shuuya, we’ve become family. I’m super happy and only feel grateful as your friend』, I glossed my bashfulness over by pulling a weirdo face.
Quiche returned a gentle smile at that and then sent a blood message to my other bloodkin as if posting a greeting mail.
One after the other, congratulatory messages appeared around Quiche from Viine, Veronica, Mysty, Yui, Kaldo, Mel, and Benett. From the side it looked like blood applause.
…I was curious about the content of what Kaldo etc. were telling her, but I went back to the first floor.
“Okay, I’m still not confident that I can use <White Flame Sage Hands> without any problems, but I think I’ll try to heal Ciel. Also, I need to transport the silver coffin with Kizeleg which we’ve left outside,” I declared to Eva and Rebecca.
Jody’s antimony-like, white gem and the egg-shaped stone that combined all the remains of Golgonshura were both inside my pocket.
“Nn, oki! We challenge! Ciel, pitiful!”
“Yep, that makes sense. If I remember their state back when they formed a contract with you…it might lead to a revival of Gol-butterfly, but…”
“Nn, Shuuya here.”
“I have also heard about the risk of the demi-goddess being revived. But, I’ll trust in your judgment, Shuuya.”
“Yep, we’ll trust you.”
“Indeed. Blue Flame goddess, no, fist successor, let us go outside as well! It’s time for a shift change with Daon’s patrol anyway.”
Daon’s wolfmen platoon has been transformed into soldiers who’re permanently stationed in Cydale. Well, they discussed it with Quiche, Shuhelia, and Red Tiger Storm, and it sounds like they also spoke about a reorganization of their troops or some army, so I guess it’s only natural.
“Sure. Sorry for not telling you to come along, Higlia.”
“I totally understand, so don’t worry about it!” Higlia did a thumbs-up with her canine twinkling.
I think I’ll take her up on her offer and go to the hometown of the ancient wolfman, but that has to wait after I tampered with Golgonshura’s egg.
“Nya?” Rollo reacted to her thumbs-up by extending a tentacle towards Higlia’s thumb, and doing a handshake.
“Let’s go Rollo.”
“Nn, nyao.”
After stroking Higlia’s leg with her tail, Rollo jumped on my shoulder. Then I grabbed Ciel’s hand.
“Your Excellency~ I will come with you as well~”
“Sure, come along.”
After Helme quickly settled in my left eye, I moved over from the living room to the entry hall.
“――Shuuya, you’re going to keep that Spear Study of the Demonic Army’s Night Parade hanging at your waist?”
“Yeah, I was planning to take a look at it during my spare time.”
“…I remember the shopkeeper of Suloza saying something along the line of 『it’s the same as items that have been classified as 2nd Degree Cursed Items』…”
“That’s five points.”
“What five points? Are you talking about the ping pong matches?”
“I meant your mimicry of him, Rebecca-kun. You have to…bffft!”
“Zero points, right?”
“Nyano~”
Everyone left this uncommented. Only Rollo was kind enough to lick my cheek…
