Chapter 16 – Into a Fluffy Night

“Ah, I see. The problem of where we’re going to sleep is still unsolved, huh…?”
I lack 『Common Wood』 to build another hut.
“Sou-kun, I get your harem aspirations, but still…”
“I never said anything about something like that, did I?”
I pondered while smiling bitterly.
“How about this? We can make warm clothing thanks to the wool, so I’ll wear that and sleep outside.”
Fortunately, the nights over here are around as cold as autumn in Japan. I likely won’t freeze to death and if I feel cold, I could always set up the campfire. And in the worst case, I could rely on Chiyu’s 『Heal』, so I don’t see any reason to worry.
“Out of the question.”
However, Chiyu objected to this.
“I-I’m also against this! I trust Sousuke, so I’m fine with us sleeping together. Besides, we are the ones who asked you to take us in as members of your party, so chasing out the owner of the place would be ridiculous.”
“True. Assuming someone would need to stay outside the hut, we should appoint that duty fairly, like taking turns in standing watch.”
Shion and Shouko followed up on Chiyu.
“I-I see…”
Even in my wildest dreams I hadn’t expected that Id’ be given permission by the girls to spend the night together in one room with them. Their kindness and trust feels kinda warm and embarrassing.
“A Fenrir could take down one or two trees, couldn’t he?”
“Oh, right. I don’t want us to be too noisy at night, but…that would be a solution, too.”
Chiyu and I shifted our attention to Shouko.
“Sorry, Mashiro is already asleep, so I don’t really want to wake him up, if possible.”
When I looked in Mashiro’s direction, he was calmly snoring while lying on the ground. I guess she’s right. Even I’d feel bad waking up a comrade, who worked hard all day long for my sake, just to make my own bedding.
“Ugh.”
Being told off like that, even Chiyu didn’t insist any further.
“Hehehe, it’s fine, Chiyu-chan. If we have Sousuke-kun lay at the edge, followed by you, followed by me, nothing worrisome should happen overnight.”
“…I don’t really mind Sou-kun building his own harem on this uninhabited island.”
“H-Harem, you say…Chiyu-cchi…”
Shouko’s face turned red. Still, Chiyu’s remark was unexpected.
“Right now, you’re the only reliable guy, Sou-kun. But, there’s three of us girls. If one of us monopolizes you and you unconsciously favor her over the other two, it’d affect the mood of our group very negatively.”
“Well, it’s not like I don’t get what you’re trying to say here, but…”
Rather, it’s something I can totally understand, if we disregard the question of me being popular or not. Love troubles ending up in tragedy is something you can hear about on the daily news and from stories of your friends, even without having to reference history.
If we were in Japan right now, we could still rely on other adults or the police, but this is an uninhabited island where only students reside right now. It’s an environment where we have to pay extra attention to such matters.
“As expected of you, Chiyu-chan. You’re totally right. If Sousuke-kun started to date one of us, the other two might feel awkward about it. At school, we’d have the option to join another group or care about our daily lives, but here we’re stuck together.”
Indeed. As a matter of fact, it’s obvious that we’re going to sleep together and we’ll naturally greet morning together, too. Something like meeting up with another group isn’t simple either.
“E-Eh~? Chiyu-cchi, Shii-chan, are you seriously saying that?”
Shouko looked confused.
But, yeah, I totally get where you’re coming from, Shouko. Your reaction is the normal response to such an idea. Chiyu and Shion are simply rational.
“Well, let’s talk it over for a bit among us girls. Sousuke-kun, sorry for only depending on you, but would it be fine to also ask you to take care of the hut’s interior?”
“Eh? Y-Yeah, sure.”
I had planned to let Shion and Shouko dry their hair at the campfire either way. But, it’s only inevitable for me to be curious about what the girls might be talking about right now.
Having said that, I don’t intend to risk their trust in me by eavesdropping, so I’ll focus on the stuff I’ve got to do inside the hut.
First is the matting. Or in other words, carpet. Since I’m going to make one anyway, I might as well make it big enough so that it covers the hut’s entire floor.
I crafted 『Wool Carpet』 and deployed it. I couldn’t quite tell how it looked since it was dark, but a pure white carpet had appeared inside the hut. I crouched down and touched it.
“Oohh, that’s quite fluffy, isn’t it?”
Besides, it doesn’t smell weird either. Even the processing of the fur we got off the goats was carried out automatically. Once again, I cannot help but feel grateful to my highly versatile 『Crafting Ability』.
Afterwards, I crafted four 『Wool Blanket』. I won’t go as far as making a bed cover, but even this should already be plenty warm. I gave it a test by wrapping one of the blankets around me.
“Mmh, it sure feels quite nice. The quality of life is definitely going to rise with this.”
Cuddling with Chiyu on the mat is an extremely wonderful memory as well, though. But leaving that aside, it’s nice to have uniform beddings.
B-Besides, even if it’s not a mat, you can still do those kinds of things after all…
As it seemed like my head would get filled with pervy delusions any moment, I restrained myself and moved on to the next job.
I was going to craft 『Wool Underwear』. For an instant I worried what to do about the size, but I judged that 『S』, 『M』, and 『L』 would do. I immediately created an 『M』-size underwear.
It had a nice feel and it looked like you could also use it normally. Going with the flow, I also crafted a pajama set. I used a sweater for above and something like sweat pants for below.
First I tried them on myself, changing into pajamas.
“Not bad.”
Wool possessed a high level of protection against cold and moisture, right? If the bedding is made out of wool on top of the body being covered by wool clothing, won’t it be hard to fall asleep as it’ll be way too hot and stuffy…?
Oh well, in that case, it’ll be fine to simply take off the sweater.
“The synergy between 『Crafting Ability』 and 『Fluff Summoning』 is seriously dangerous.”
Finding new strong points by combining them is very appreciated.
Because we have Chiyu’s 『Heal』, I plunged into felling trees on the very first day. In short, I got plenty of help from my friends in addition to the benefits of my ability.
In the future, Shion’s ability will likely display its worth when we encounter other transferees. It’s a good fortune that us four ability holders managed to assemble on the first day.
“Sou-kun, sorry for making you wait.”
As I was thinking about all that, the three girls came back.
“S-Sure, welcome back.”
“Whoa, Sousuke-kun, you’ve changed clothes. Did you make those out of the wool from earlier? Can I touch it?”
Chiyu and Shion were acting like usual, or rather, no different from earlier. But, Shouko was looking down while fiddling around with the tips of her blond hair.
J-Just what did they talk about? And what kind of conclusion did they reach?
While having my pajamas repeatedly touched by Shion, I kept wondering about that.
“Y-You also have a carpet and blankets! S-Sousuke, as expected, you’re incredible! A-Ahahaha,” Shouko tried to pretend normality, but failed miserably.
“You know, Shouko, I don’t know what you girls talked about, but please don’t be so wary. Everyone is here, and besides, I’d never force you to do something you hate.”
I decided to make that declaration. Shion might be using her ability, but that would just suit my convenience. After all, I wasn’t lying.
“No, look. I know that you’re a kind guy, so it’s cool. That’s not the issue here, umm…”
“Even if you trust someone, embarrassing things stay embarrassing, right Sousuke-kun?”
“…You’ve got a point there. To be honest, I’m nervous as well.”
Those words triggered an atmosphere which was hard to describe.
“Sou-kun, I’d like a set of pajamas, too.”
Chiyu truly is a lifesaver at times like these.
“Sure, I’ll craft it right away.”
“…Please make them while leaving enough space around the chest area. Otherwise, the pajamas will be too tight…,” my childhood-friend whispered, appearing to struggle to spell it out clearly.
“Eh? You can do such stuff as well? Then I’d like to request the same, Sousuke-kun. A shirt would work, but if you choose the size while considering the chest, the sleeves and over all shirt will become long and that’s not really cute,” Shion said seductively while lowering her eyes at her own breasts.
“…M-Me too. Please.”
Shouko seemed to share similar worries. All three of them have quite big boobs, so they might share some hardships as fellow big-breasted girls.
“G-Got it…”
After being told about worries I usually wouldn’t get to hear, I proceeded to craft the pajamas. Given that the existing one wouldn’t work here, I decided to craft them after choosing the target first. Just like I did with the stone wall.
“Sorry, but I have to take a close look in order to match the size.”
“Feel free to check each nook and corner.”
Chiyu took off the blazer of her school uniform.
“Ah, I’ll be alright with you just taking off your blazer.”
“Ahahaha, what a gentleman you are, Sousuke-kun. Even though you could have easily told us that you wouldn’t be able to measure our sizes without us taking off everything but our underwear.”
“Lies won’t work on you, right?”
“Yeah,” Shion smiled impishly.
Just like that I crafted underwear and pajamas for the three even while feeling somewhat excited. I happily handed the finished clothing to the girls and stepped outside since they were going to change clothes.
In the meantime, I approached the extinguished fire, stored its ash, and made sure to do the same around the bath as well.
Mashiro was still snoring peacefully. Smaller animals would be held back by the stone wall, and if something were to scale the wall, the Fenrir would take care of it. He looks like he’ll become a reliable watchdog for us.
As I considered all that, I looked up to the moon. Just as with the sun, there was only one moon and the color was also the same as on Earth.
It’s weird that we can use abilities and the transfer itself is a mystery too, but we cannot fully exclude the possibility of this being Earth either. If goblin-like monsters and demihumans like elves appear, it’ll be easy to tell, though.
Anyway, no point in thinking about stuff I don’t know.
“Sou-kun, you can come back now.”
Since I heard my childhood-friend’s voice, I returned to the hut. Over there I was awaited by three beauties who had finished changing into their pajamas.
