The Spearmaster and the Black Cat – Chapter 78: Earl Oddball

Heyas folks,

a short notice before you get to read the new chapter:

Upon my pleading Marco took it upon himself to write up a Glossary for The Spearmaster and the Black Cat. Please extend your thanks to him for his meticulous work on that and check it out here!!!

You will find that a few things have been changed as we checked the raws at some parts that were not clear or doubtful in the previous translation. As mentioned in the comment at the top of the Glossary, those changes will be ongoing as there seem to be few discrepancies, or let’s call them very liberal interpretations, between the raws and the previously translated chapters.

This chapter has been translated by Shasu and edited by Kelechi and Marco.

The Spearmaster and the Black Cat – Chapter 77: Thieves Guild 【Belgart】

Heyas folks,

sorry for the delay. Originally this one should have been posted on Saturday but as I’ve been the last days down with the flu and basically only posted what I had in stock anyway, this one took me a bit longer.

Now for two additional news: First, I decided to up the release rate from bi-weekly to 3 per 4 weeks, meaning Kakei Senki wo Kakageyo! will become monthly and this series will fill out the remaining spots. Starting with 10th March.

Second, I uploaded chapters 1-4 on this blog as the original translator’s site doesn’t host them anymore. No, I won’t edit them. It’s just a re-post. I won’t change anything there. It’s just for those wanting to read the series from the start but having problems using google to find chapters. You will find the chapters 1-4 here.

Chapter 77 translated by Shasu, edited by Marco. Enjoy~~

The Spearmaster and the Black Cat – Chapter 76: Hotel Alando ※

Heyas folks,

in this chapter you will find a status listing of the MC. I referenced the one of the previous translator but also made some changes where I felt the interpretation of my predecessor went a bit far.

Well, doubt there are many actually willing to read that long list of weird spells in the first place. 😉

Translated by Shasu, edited by Kelechi and Marco, enjoy~

The Spearmaster and the Black Cat – Chapter 75: The withered large tree and the priest with the space alien face

Heyas folks,

so as you can see, I decided to go with Spearmaster. I did check out some novels on Syousetsu that aren’t translated yet but nothing hit me as being the one, so let’s go with something many of you desire anyway.

A few words first:

I know the previous translator set the terminology for many names, locations etc. but you should likewise understand that I don’t feel like sieving through 70ish chapters to see how things were called back then as that will take a lot time each time. You are of course free to point things out and I will adapt if I deem them fit. Even better would be someone who can write up a Glossary of all names, but well, I’m not going to dream that someone will actually make my work easier…

Release Speed

Someone posted that there’s no point in me picking this up because the author releases quickly and at a rate of once every two weeks I will need over 10 years to catch up to the current chapter count. I won’t deny that. I’m not against increasing the release speed either, given that I see people actually wanting to read this novel aka it being popular, thus the ball is in your, the reader’s, court.

Well that’s all of my rambling.

The Spearmaster and the Black Cat – Chapter 74: Demonic Steel-City Holkerbaum

So yea, after discussing what to do after Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de had to make an unplanned exit from our line-up, we were discussing what to do next, and Marco mentioned this novel, which hasn’t been translated for more than 4 months now. Then I remembered it as well as it was down my line in brutality and darkness, at least the first chapters that I did read.

So, to get off my thoughts from sulking over Nidoume, I did what a translator can do best and delved into translating something. And this is the product of me working off some stress.

If you people like the translation of this series’ I will seriously consider continuing with it as it has an interesting writing style which I don’t have among my current projects yet.

Well, have a look and tell me what you think…
