Chapter 312: Male Demonkin Are Quite Peculiar, Aren’t They?

It looks like the demonkin’s ability to move gradually improved over time. He’s fairly tough, I must say. Or maybe the heatstroke was just in its early stages.
Anyway, he realized his own state and grimaced as he looked down at himself. He was stark naked at the moment since his body was submerged in a solution.
“Hey, what happened to the clothes and luggage I had with me?”
“They were dirty, so I washed them. No one would want to bring something filthy into the golem, and moreover the brand-new installation within, which they painstakingly and devotedly built themselves, right?”
He blinked his eyes in surprise.
What, I’m no maiden who’s never seen a naked man, so don’t kick up such a fuss.
“It’s okay! I’m used to seeing naked men! I’ve also seen that limp trunk more than often enough, so…gyaaa!”
Sword’s iron claw grabbed my head before I could finish.
“Forgive my vulgar, crude partner. But, we had no choice since it was necessary for the treatment. Don’t worry. I was the one to take off your clothes. Still, it’s great that you made a recovery, right? Your clothes and luggage are lyin’ next to you. If your able to move now, wipe your body with the cloth over there and change your clothes.”
The demonkin became flabbergasted, but after moving his face and confirming that his things were next to him, he seemed to feel relieved. He slowly moved his hand and pointed in our direction.
“…You guys are priests or something like that?”
I shook my head while holding the part which Sword had grabbed moments ago.
“No, we’re adventurers.”
He stared my way with a dumbstruck expression, apparently not understanding the meaning of what I said.
“…Sorry, but let me ask you once more: you’re no priests?”
“No, we’re adventurers.”
The demonkin fell silent when I denied right away. After some time, he asked once more, “…Human adventurers…are capable of healing?”
“I don’t know whether human adventurers are capable of it! But, I am!”
He apparently didn’t understand what I was telling him for real, merely staring at me with his mouth gaping.
“Sorry, you can think of adventurers as not bein’ able to do it under normal circumstances. I think you can already tell, but this girl here is ‘nythin’ but normal,” Sword gently admonished the demonkin.
*
After some more time passed, the demonkin’s recovery had proceeded quite a bit. At long last, he’d become able to move normally and sluggishly stood up.
Really tough, that guy. But well, if he can move, it should be okay for him to eat food normally.
“Here, take this,” Sword tossed a towel to him.
Catching it, he stared at the towel for a while, and then started to wipe his body slowly. He then tried to turn his body in order to pick up his clothes, but since he was quite unsteady on his feet, he gave up on it.
“Hmm, looks like you’re still forcing yourself, huh? Wear this for the time being, if you feel cold,” I wrapped him up with a bathrobe.
And using the opportunity, I picked him up in a princess carry, took him to the bunk, and put him down over there. Though you could also call it a couch, I suppose. I built it with a backrest, allowing for one to sit there comfortably, so it should probably be easy for him to move on it.
Given that the demonkin stared at me, I stared back so as to tease him a bit, and said, “What, did you fall in love with me? Sorry, but I’ve got no interest in relationships, so I have to turn you down.”
“I’m not homosexual, and in the first place, it’s impossible for me to fall in love with a human.”
He responded with some incomprehensible nonsense. I wonder why a demonkin would regard a fair beauty like me as a boy? Oh, maybe it’s because I’m from another race!
Sword roared in laughter.
While pointing at me, he responded to our guest, “Both of you are wrong. This one is a woman, and Indra, your too conceited.”
Hmm? Too conceited about what?
After looking back and forth between Sword and me, the demonkin focused on me.
“……Human girls are asexual?” He asked.
He asked!
Uuugh… Since I can’t deny it with 100% certainty, I had no choice but to remain silent. Or maybe female demonkin develop full-bodied figures shortly after their birth?
*
After dozing for a bit, the demonkin woke up again, and checked his condition by slowly moving his hands. It seems like he wants to move his body as quickly as possible, but no matter how tough he might be, isn’t that way too hasty?
I soothed him, “Don’t force yourself too much. Well, of course I don’t mind if you do and leave. If you croak, I’ll run an experiment to see whether your corpse turns undead.”
Hearing that, the demonkin scowled at me furiously, “Humans are truly unjust and cruel creatures!”
“Indeed. I fully agree with you on that.”
He became flabbergasted when I nodded deeply. But, didn’t he say it himself?
I shrugged my shoulders exaggeratedly, “Still…I only got one demonkin as an acquaintance, but that guy was rotten spoiled, and you seem to be just like that as well. Thinking that it’s only natural for you to be liked and pampered by your surroundings, you grieve and bemoan that others are unjust and cruel, if you’re treated coldly. Is that the true nature of demonkin?”
“Obviously that’s not the case!!! Don’t screw with me!”
Eeh? Even if he denies it, it’s hard to believe that I’m wrong.
Once I stared at him with my head tilted in doubt, he averted his face.
Just what’s wrong with him now?
“…I…didn’t want to be rescued by the likes of humans. So I won’t thank you.”
I see. So demonkin don’t want to be rescued by humans? I learned something new.
“Is that so? Would it be better if I kick you out then? I can do that right away, you know?”
When I told him so very kindly, he ended up falling silent. But, why?
“Hmm? Didn’t you say it’d be better for you to have died, if the alternative was to be rescued by humans? I already got all the data for the healing capsule’s operation I need, so I can kick you out, just as you desire.”
“You have my gratitude for saving me.”
He suddenly stared to say next. WHYYY!?
*
…Make demonkin are quite peculiar, aren’t they?
Smith became normal after breaking out of his shell, but before that, he also felt like this guy over here.
