Chapter 332: For there to Be a Negative Effect in Being Together with a Guy Possessing a Sixth Sense…

The next floor also ended in a door after a long, straight corridor. Once we opened the door, we were faced with an unduly wide room full of small, tasteful decorations, looking like a noble child’s room.
Three doors were visible on each side of the room.
I placed a hand on my chin while Sword looked around restlessly.
“Hmm.”
“What’s this place? Looks like a normal room to me.” Sword asked me, confused, after surveying the area. “What’s the usual trope for this sort of floor?”
“Hmm, let me see…only one door among the three leads into the correct path. This would be the usual trope, but I wonder what’ll happen if you open the other doors and pass through those. In case of a trap…”
Ah. I ended up seeing it with my all-seeing eyes.
“Gnah…I ended up seeing it. You’ll be teleported once you open the door. This applies to all doors. Apparently, you’re supposed to find the stairway by repeatedly teleporting around.”
I sure hope the teleportation device won’t fail, seeing as it’s inside a dungeon.
“I see…,” groaned Sword.
“Well, it’s easy for you, right? You’ll probably be able to choose the correct route only with your sixth sense. Rather, will you be able to enjoy proceeding into wrong paths and defeating enemies?”
Sword shrugged his shoulders.
*
“In short, it’s a real escape game! Let’s search the room for clues!”
Once I said so, full of vigor, the sixth-sense guy said something as irresponsible as, “Can’t we just test things randomly?”
I shook my head exaggeratedly.
“Are you vying to go for the most-boring dungeon clear possible!? Don’t use such a typical cheat: ignore the proper steps! You have to follow procedures!”
“I didn’t expect to see the day where I’d be told somethin’ like that by you, Demon Queen of Absurdity.”
Don’t call me demon queen. You’ll be scolded by the demon king.
*
Okay…let’s search the room!
“Mother, I’d like to search with all of you~”
Char pleaded from inside the pod, so I let him out. Ever since he became able to talk, I’ve been worrying whether it’d be better to miniaturize him since he constantly wanted to come out.
“Alright. Once we leave the dungeon, I’ll consider how to make you smaller as a reward. In such a case, you’ll always be able to be with us. Your big appearance is cuter, though. Yet, a mini-version would allow you to be with us, so no choice, I guess.”
“Yaaay! Together with you! Yay~!” Char shook his big frame as he extended his feelers.
I almost died there since he was so lovely.
…and even though I thought that…
“Mr. Sword, once I become small, take care of me as well, okay~?”
…Char said!
So he wanted to be together with Sword!? Sure, he’s Sword’s Char, but still…!
“Gotcha. It’s not like I don’t care ’bout you, right? I’ve been ridin’ and drivin’ you, haven’t I?” Sword soothed Char with a troubled look.
*
As a result of everyone searching the room all over, now that Char has joined our ranks, enemies have come out!
Small monsters, which felt similar to the horbs, swarmed out of the opened drawers and doors, starting to skitter around us.
Are those pixies?
The horbs were fighting back. Meanwhile, Sword took out his guns once more and started to shoot the enemies to death. He apparently likes those weapons quite a bit.
And then, even Mini Mini Knight Armor Boy One had joined the battle without me realizing.
Hey, you’re on the enemy side, aren’t you? So why are you brandishing your spear against the pixies who ought to be your allies? Or, have you been instructed to use your spear against any enemy heading your way?
Well, he’s cute, and cuteness is justice, so whatever.
His movements as he jousted with the pixies as opponents looked so damn adorable. Sword also had his eyes drawn by Mini Knight Armor Boy, almost ending up getting hit by an enemy attack.
“Ah! Mr. Sword is leering at a newcomer once again!”
“””Cheater~!”””
Everyone noisily criticized Sword.
“Wait, wait, calm down. Let’s first take down the enemies, ‘kay?” Sword tried to gloss it over while soothing everyone in panic.
*
Sword came close to me.
“…Say, is the boss of this stratum possibly like this?”
Once I looked at Sword, he had put on an expression full of regret over having destroyed them.
…Didn’t you dislike monsters?
“Who knows. Still, Mini Knight Armor Boy’s movements are quite funny to watch. Toppling over and then getting back up clumsily like that; I don’t know whether anyone would be capable of that except for the Mini Knight Armor Boy made by me. Then again, I highly doubt that anyone has programmed him to act like that.”
I haven’t done it either, you know?
And this sort of movement pattern also didn’t seem present when I analyzed him. I don’t think his big, former instruction server has ordered him to do that either…
“If we assume that his server made him move like this, it must be quite remarkable in skill. If you have him act like that, I can’t believe that anyone would be able to calmly destroy him. It’d be quite an ingenious scheme!”
“Uuh,” Sword was suffering.
I’m pretty sure he would never be able to destroy Mini Knight Armor Boy.
*
Once all the pixies were defeated, we got a key as a drop.
“Hmm? Just when I thought we’d get a hint, we got the answer instead?”
“What do you mean?” I was asked by Sword.
“The door with the lock fitting this key probably leads to the correct path.”
At least I think so.
“Hmm…,” Sword grunted and started to search for keyholes.
After he had tested out all of them, he turned around to me.
“It’s just as you say. The key only fits into one keyhole.”
Heh.
While intently staring at Sword, I said, “It’s the door you tried first anyway, isn’t it?”
“Eh? …Your right.”
Playing an escape game with a guy possessing a sixth sense is just no fun.
