Giving a name to something defines them to be a recognised existence but the name itself doesn’t necessarily have to give them an attribute.
An Ant is an insect with the name Ant. But that doesn’t mean that the name Ant is anything else but a categorisation. Without the name though, it would be just an insect and if you don’t even give it the name of Insect then it is just something.

In other words, your assumption, that kami giving the angels a name means them getting some special abilities due to their name, is wrong.
