Chapter 170 – The Truth about Magit

<– Previous Chapter | Glossary | TOC | Next Chapter –>

After giving the maids and combat slaves the order to tell Eva and Rebecca “Sorry, I’m busy,” if they come visiting, I headed to the Flavor Street together with Rollo and Viine.
We enter 【Twin Moon】, a base of 【Remains of the Moon】.
The leaders Mel, Benett and Zeeta waited inside the restaurant for orders.

“Guild Master, I left Lodging Moon of the Labyrinth in the hands of Kazun and Magit. Right now I’m issuing the orders with this restaurant as central base.” (Mel)

Magit, huh? She might have the position of a guardian deity or similar.
While thinking about something like that, I take the role of listener for now.

“Paulsen and Angie are patrolling the Warehouse District, Robalt is in the middle of making his rounds in the Pleasure Quarter while taking Lulu and Lala along. Since our turf has become big, the leaders are working on two or more positions.” (Mel)

“You aren’t recruiting new personnel?” (Shuuya)

“It’s not easy to find any. Even with Robalt, Lulu and Lala it’s been an unprecedented, exceptional promotion, so…” (Mel)

“That’s true as well. So, I’m sorry to come up with this while you’re busy, but it’s an order. I’d like you to search for a certain adventurer…” (Shuuya)

I talk about the objective and name of the target person.

“…Guild master, we just have to look for that adventurer called Pax or whatever, right?” (Mel)

“Correct. Bring me the information where he lives and to what clan he belongs. It’s urgent.” (Shuuya)

“Understood. Benett, I leave it to you.” (Mel)

“Leave it to me, eh? Fork over the bow in exchange then, okay Mel?.” (Benett)

“I know…” (Mel)

Mel smiles wryly with a tinge of “I guess it can’t be helped.”
She promised Benett to give her a bow a little while ago.
Benett nods with a smile and leaves the store with nimble movements.

“Guild master, you told us to search and kill that adventurer, but did he do anything to you?” (Mel)

“No, I don’t have any particular beef with him, but he’s doing something to other adventurers. There’s another deep reason, but do you really want to hear it?” (Shuuya)

“N-No, if it’s better for me to not know, then please don’t tell me anything.” (Mel)

“Master, I don’t know the details either…” (Viine)

Come to think of it, I didn’t explain to Viine.
Now’s the time then. It looks like Mel doesn’t want to hear it, but I will have her listen anyway.
I think something like bugs possessing brains as parasites is scary, but she’s the vice-guild master.
Besides, it’s better she knows in advance, seeing that she lives in Pelneet.

“The target is an apostle of an evil god. He had been hijacked by a parasitic bug that entered and lives in his head and neck. Nowadays he has evolved into a different species, it seems.” (Shuuya)

“Eh? Something like that…if you talk about bugs…” (Mel)

Mel shifts her eyes to Zeeta.

“You say it’s a parasitic bug?” (Zeeta)

Zeeta, who had been silent up till now, speaks up.
He’s an insect user.
He might know something.

“…It’s the bug that clung to Fuu, right? I guess there were more of them around after all.” (Viine)

Having once faced one of those bugs in the past, Viine grasped it quickly.
I face her.

“Indeed. Once I poured mana into the Millenium Plant while you were sleeping, Viine, the potted plant suddenly started to dance and talk…allowing me to communicate with that strange plant. Once it became even more weird, the plant cast a thread-like spell and the evil god Steertop was projected in something like a surface made out of threads. I talked with that evil god.” (Shuuya)

After that I recount the whole chat with Steertop, who resembled a tiger with ten tails.

“I see, so that’s what happened…”

“It seems to be the truth. This city is also the battleground of the war with the evil god domain…”

Mel and Zeeta nod to each other.
Zeeta continues,

“About what you said, guild master. I think it’s the truth.” (Zeeta)

“Yeah.” (Mel)

“Guild master, you are also a race of the vampire species that belongs to the dark side. You also have connections to the gods of the Spirit World Sebdola, don’t you?” (Zeeta)

Zeeta asked.

“I talked with a god of the Spirit World to some extent… Or rather, they possess a relationship to Viine, who’s my servant and <Head Servant Leader>.” (Shuuya)

“…What! Then it looks like we should call her Viine-sama from now on…” (Mel)

Mel respectfully bows towards Viine.

“Just call me Viine. Rather than that, Master is the supreme being here who exceeds the gods. I believe it would be better for you to also call him guild master-sama.” (Viine)

“…Yes, as someone connected to the demonic side, I will address him as guild master-sama. 1 ” (Mel)

Mel acts humble after hearing Viine’s words.
Demonic side, eh…?

“Someone connected to the demonic side?” (Shuuya)

“Yes, it’s difficult to talk about it, but I’m the daughter of the Demonoid Zarlp 2, who’s causing a ruckus on the streets…” (Mel)

“What’s that? I don’t really know anything about a Demonoid Zarlp. How’s that connected to our current situation?” (Shuuya)

“I think Zarlp is the man who broke up with my mother during my childhood. As I haven’t met him in person, it’s just a guess, but…I heard rumors that black wings grow at his feet. Thus…I’m thinking that he might be family.” (Mel)

Mel says with a gloomy face.

“I see, so you’re saying you’ve inherited the blood of demons, Mel?” (Shuuya)

“Yes. It’s a fact that my feet are not normal.” (Mel)

“The technique you showed the other day, huh? The ones above your ankles, the heels? The black wings that unfolded to the sides from the heels to the ankles and also are the origin of your Flash Feet, you mean those?” (Shuuya)

“Yes…” (Mel)

She shyly covers her face.
She’s hiding it looking embarrassed, but I believe that it’s a wonderful weapon.

“So that’s the reason.” (Shuuya)

Since talking about the strife between gods, Mel acted slightly awkward.
Let’s give her some breathing room by changing the topic.

“…Mel, you don’t really need to attach -sama to my name. I like your easy going way of interacting with me as landlady of an inn.” (Shuuya)

“I-I see, is that alright? (Mel)

She looks at Viine and me in turns, seeking a confirmation.

“There’s no need for you to ask me for permission.” (Viine)

“Sure.” (Shuuya)

“…Master. I’m sorry for just now. It’s been impertinent of me to tell Mel to call you Master…I didn’t interpret your feelings correctly.” (Viine)

Viine is really polite.
She talked and looked at me while bowing her head, causing her long silver hair to hang down.
Her glossy hair is beautiful.
Unconsciously I want to fiddle around with it.

“Don’t worry about it. So, Zeeta, about the matter with the bugs that seem to possess heads…do you know anything?” (Shuuya)

“I do.” (Zeeta)

Just in case I boot up the Kaleidoscope.
I looked at Zeeta, but his head wasn’t infested by a bug.

“…So you do, eh? Can you manipulate such bugs?” (Shuuya)

“That’s impossible. Even I can’t employ all insects. What I know is an ant monster called Bailmatora.” (Zeeta)

“Bailmatora?” (Shuuya)

“Yes. It’s said that the small Bailmatora ants cling to the head of a four-footed animal called Galaran that lives in the Great Prairie. Once they take hold, the Bailmatora steal their prey’s consciousness, lead it to their nest and turn it into fodder for a great amount of Bailmatora. It’s a monster I don’t really want to approach. But, one day I will catch one as I want to study them.” (Zeeta)

Hee, what a scary ant.
If it’s about zombie ants, I heard stories already.

“…Is there a possibility for Bailmatora to possess any creature other than Galaran?” (Shuuya)

“That possibility should be extremely low. It’s a special environment after all.” (Zeeta)

Well, that makes sense. If people in the city learned that ants infest the brains of humans as parasites, it would likely become an uproar.

“I see. Zeeta, thanks for the lecture on insects.” (Shuuya)

“No, not at all. Do you also want me to explain about the insects I’m using?” (Zeeta)

The scaly face of Zeeta forms a smile.
He looks happy, seeing how his eyes are sparkling.

“No, that’s enough. Maybe next time.” (Shuuya)

“I see.” (Zeeta)

The bug expert Zeeta averts his eyes while looking disappointed.
That’s all for the matter about parasites infesting heads.
Next I’m going to ask about Veronica and the white cat.

“…Mel, it’s sudden, but is Veronica still sleeping?” (Shuuya)

“Yes. She still sleeps in the coffin room located in the basement. I think it’s about time for her to wake up, but…” (Mel)

“I see. There was a little something I wanted to discuss with her, but if she’s still sleeping, it can’t be helped. Also, I was wondering just now.” (Shuuya)

“About?” (Mel)

“It’s about Magit. You said that you leave the protection of the inn to her.” (Shuuya)

“…Magit, eh? To tell you the truth, she’s not a normal cat. Originally she’s a white fox apparition said to possess many heads in whom the power of the powerful deity Magitora of the Abranahm family3 dwells. Usually she’s a simple white cat since she’s sealed by the green sealing stone collar, though.” (Mel)

Powerful Deity Magitora of the Abranahm family…
【Blood Court】 was a name existing in the main house of the Valmask family in the royal capital, wasn’t it?

“You don’t say you stole her, seeing that she was imprisoned by the 【Blood Court】?” (Shuuya)

“Yes. According to Veronica, she trespassed into their treasure chamber quite a long time ago, and apparently stole one of what is called the Six Great Treasures.” (Mel)

I see…that girl is really capable of anything.

“I guess it was something causing pursuers to come after her…so that’s why I could sense a powerful, abnormal mana from that green necklace.” (Shuuya)

“Yes. If you chant a spell, a certain keyword, Magit’s powers will be released. I intend to use it if a formidable enemy capable of destroying Lodging Moon appears.” (Mel)

I really wanna see her released form.

“…Did you intend to use it against me when you guided me to the basement in the inn at first?” (Shuuya)

“Yes, of course. It was an option.” (Mel)

Mel looks slightly happy while casting a broad grin on her face.
Haha, how honest.
But, if I think back now, I feel like I understand the reason why she got along with Rollo.
A divine beast, and a fox with many heads in whom a powerful spirit dwells.

Once I look at Rollo, she answers.

“Is that the reason why you and Magit were on good terms?” (Shuuya)

As we speak, she rubs her head against my cheek.
It’s adorable, but for now I will keep it at just lightly caressing her head.

“…So, it sounds like there were vampire pursuers from the Valmask family?” (Shuuya)

“Yes. But since Veronica is strong, she repelled all of them. Therefore it’s very likely that the Valmask family will meddle with you from now on as well, guild master. They are probably aware that Veronica belongs to 【Remains of the Moon】 and is active for us.” (Mel)

“…If they challenge me to a fight, I just have to deal with them. But, if they make a move on my friends, that will be quite troublesome…” (Shuuya)

Now then, I guess it’s about time for me to return home.
Eva and Rebecca might have come visiting.

“…Well then, I will return to the mansion for now. If Benett comes back, tell her to come to my mansion.” (Shuuya)

“Okay, as you wish.” (Mel)

Mel’s tone hasn’t changed.
She’s an excellent, sarcastic woman.
I guess she has grasped her own role right away.
…I got up from my chair and left the restaurant together with Viine and Rollo on my shoulder.
Just as the name Flavor Street suggests, there are many places to grab some food.
Restaurants specialized on fried Runga, which could also be found in Hekatrail’s side streets, probably exist here as well, I think.
Because the Flavor Street is a place where the restaurants face the street, the diversity here is bigger than in those side streets.
Various restaurant’s sign boards featuring sheep, cow, bird, and monster types are lined up.
By the way, the Twin Moon’s signboard is a bird type.

“Master, are we going to visit some restaurant?” (Viine)

“No, it’s really been a while since I walked through such a street…it made me remember the past a bit.” (Shuuya)

“I see.” (Viine)

“Rollo.” (Shuuya)

Rollo jumps off my shoulder.
The instant her paws touched the ground, she transformed into her Horse Lion size with a poof.
Viine and I get on RollodeenHorse Lion, and then we dash across the roofs of Pelneet as if riding a jet stream.
Even when reaching the streets of the Martial Arts District, Rollodeen bursts forward while using and kicking the walls of buildings without easing up on the speed.
No sooner than I saw the large front gate of my mansion, Rollodeen jumped atop the gate, and came to a halt on top of the roof by using the powerful muscles of her limbs.
At that moment I sensed several presences outside the mansion.
I guess someone is standing watch.
The instant I felt the magic sources in the vicinity, Rollodeen pointed her noble, sharp-angled face upwards.

“Gowrrrr, nyao~n.”

Once she released a cat voice that made one feel an animalistic touch, she kicks off the shingle with her burly paws and performs a large jump as if showing off her splendid belly as Horse Lion to the servants cleaning the courtyard below her.
Moreover, she transforms her six tentacles by splitting them in many smaller tentacles, and lands softly in the courtyard in a flashy way while extending her countless tentacles in a fan form like peafowl feathers.

“――Master returned!”

The high-class combat slaves were apparently training in the courtyard.
All the servants cleaning and doing the laundry were surprised.
Some among them fall down on their butts.
While watching that spectacle, I jump off Rollodeen.
Viine also follows, but she gets off slowly and carefully with her legs trembling.
I guess Rollo jumped around a bit too much for her.
Once we got off, Rollodeen immediately shrinks to her black cat size.

With that one meow she runs up to the servants and maids.
Rollo extends her feelers to the servants, who fell down, and gently lifts them up. Once she helped them stand, she licked the legs of those servants.
So she does have a soft spot, doesn’t she?
As I’m watching that scene while smiling,

“Nn, Shuuya came back.” (Eva)

“――Shuuya! What’s the idea with leaving us behind!” (Rebecca)

It’s Eva and Rebecca.
They don indignant expressions…
Especially Eva has an angry face which is unusual.
While feeling slightly nervous, I approach them who rushed out of the main building.

“…Y-Yo, good morning?” (Shuuya)

“Good morning? It’s already noon!” (Rebecca)

“Nn, good morning ―― Shuuya, where did you go?” (Eva)

Certainly, it’s noon, I guess.
Eva transforms her wheelchair into its Segway mode, draws next to me, and asks from close-by.

“Umm…” (Shuuya)

Once I look at Viine, she nods, making her silver hair sway.
It looks like she also thinks that I should better tell my friends the truth.
Alright, I will summon my courage and confess.
Let’s tell them frankly about the mirrors, and also about me having become the top of a dark guild.

“…I have become the guild master of the dark guild 【Remains of the Moon】. So, I had a little chat with its members.” (Shuuya)

“W-What was that!?” (Rebecca)

“Dark guild…guild master…when?” (Eva)

Rebecca widens her eyes. Eva reaches her hand out to me.
Her violet eyes are trembling. She implicitly told me that she will probe my feelings.
Just as Eva wishes, I stretch out my palm and grasp her hand.
I lightly think about all that has happened until now to make it easy for her to read my mind.

“…【Remains of the Moon】 war…” (Eva)

Eva reveals a complicated expression, slowly nods her head up and down, and then releases my hand.
The reading finished immediately.
I can’t judge the level of her comprehensive power, but I should have gotten her to understand.

“…Shuuya, for you to meddle in such dangerous business as dark guilds… Ah, is that possibly related to the attack against me from the other day?” (Rebecca)

Seemingly recalling the kidnapping back then, Rebecca’s complexion became bad.

“No, I crushed those guys. It has nothing to do with that anymore. But well, it means I’m responsible for the same kind of folks. However, I don’t intend to stop being an adventurer.” (Shuuya)

“Crushed, you say? That’s a surprise…” (Rebecca)

“Nn…” (Eva)

They are baffled.
I guess that’s only natural.

“…If you’ve become disgusted with me, you don’t have to party with me against your will――” (Shuuya)

“Just a moment! Don’t look down on me! I, no, Eva too, there’s no way, there’s no way that we’re going to hate you for something like that! Jeez, you don’t know with what kind of feelings we came here! Don’t screw around! Silly, perverted, stupid dullard!” (Rebecca)

Uh oh, she topped off my words.
Rebecca was angry while having an expression as if she’s about to cry.
However, she also looks cute and lovely.
I naturally walk over to Rebecca and hug her.

“――Sorry.” (Shuuya)

“A-Ah, yeah…” (Rebecca)

Rebecca abruptly sinks into silence. Her eyes are wet and her face is bright red.

“Rebecca, step back.” (Eva)

“Eh, er, no.” (Rebecca)

“Not allowed, step back!” (Eva)

Once Eva told that Rebecca with a strong attitude, she hugged me from the side alongside her wheelchair.
As I receive powerful hugs from both,

『Your Excellency, can I join in, too?』 (Helme)

Helme appears in my visual field.

『I don’t really mind, but…』 (Shuuya)

『Then!』 (Helme)

Helme is released from my left eye in a spiral next to the two huggers.

“Nn, spirit-sama?” (Eva)

“Kya, water all of a sudden!” (Rebecca)

Did she go slightly ballistic with her sheet of spray? I think it’s just my imagination.
Helme immediately transforms into a human shape and hugs me.

“Your Excellency…” (Helme)

“Master, me too…” (Viine)

At last even Viine… It turns into a weird spectacle with everyone’s hands overlapping.
Once I looked around me, I saw the combat slaves, servants and maids laughing a bit.
For a short while I felt the girls’ warmth, but since it developed into a battle of hands between them, I made it stop around here.

“…Everyone, I understand, so get off now, okay?” (Shuuya)

I forcefully separated myself from them by peeling off their hands.

“Nn!” (Eva)

“Jee-!” (Rebecca)

“Your Excellency.” (Helme)

“Master.” (Viine)

Each of them shows a slightly dissatisfied expression in their own respective way.
Or rather, even Viine, who accompanied me, looks discontent.
Well, let’s leave that aside.
If they don’t want to separate from me so much, I will have a slightly private chat with them.

“…Say, Rebecca, Eva, how about moving into my house if you like?” (Shuuya)

“Eh! That’s fine?” (Rebecca)

“Nn, I will! With Shuuya is best.” (Eva)

Both reply immediately.

“Your Excellency, after all those excellent two…” (Helme)

“It’s because they are excellent.” (Shuuya)

Helme and Viine make eye contact, and nod.
While I focus on Eva and Rebecca,

“…Are you sure? Staying at my place means that you will be here at night, too.” (Shuuya)

“Of course!” (Rebecca)

Rebecca says in excitement with her nostrils swelling a bit.

“Nn, I will do my best at lewd nights, too.” (Eva)

Eva wriggles her fingers with her face dyed red as she sits on her wheelchair.

“Got it. There are many rooms in the main building. Decide on a room for yourselves.” (Shuuya)

“Nn, I will have a look.” (Eva)

“Ah! Me too!” (Rebecca)

Eva and Rebecca head to the main building while seemingly competing.
With this it should become easier for the members of 【Remains of the Moon】 who are protecting them from the shadows. The presences I previously felt outside the mansion have likely vanished, too.
They won’t enter my mansion, but it looks like they are properly tailing Eva and Rebecca, as ordered.
Now then, the thing with the night also included a different meaning, but… of course the girls should have only understood it as erotic talk.
…I also have to talk with them about my blood and the matter with the mirrors, don’t I?
But, I wonder, how are they going to react?
I’m somewhat scared…

“…Master, your face looks a bit pale. Are you going to drink my blood?” (Viine)

“I will…I will discipline the butts of Your Excellency’s troublesome ladies with water.” (Helme)

It’s the usual with Helme-san.
Most recently she has become more like a darkness spirit than a water spirit.

“Both of you, I’m fine. Come, let’s relax some in the main building?” (Shuuya)

“Yes!” (Viine)

“Let’s go.” (Helme)

At that moment the Head Maid Isabell, the beastman maid Krychiwa, and the human maid Anna drew near while accompanied by Rollo.

“Master, welcome home.” (Isabell)

“Welcome home.”

“Welcome home!”

“Nnn, nyaaon.”

For some reason Rollo releases a throaty groan and a weird meow as if to imitate the maids.

“Ah, did you maybe copy us? How cute.”

“She’s copy cat-ing us.”

“Master! Just now Rollo-sama allowed us to hug her.”

“Yeah~. She’s so fluffy and bouncy.”

“Her paws, her paws are far too cute!”

The three maids have completely turned into Rollo fans.

“I-I see. That’s great, isn’t it?” (Shuuya)

“Yeees. I was finally allowed to touch her.” (Krychiwa)

The beastmaid.
Without me knowing why, Krychiwa salutes while Anna puts her hands on her chest.
They were really happy.

Once Rollo tilts her head to the side in confusion, her head is caressed by the maids.

“Fufu, adorable.”

Isabell is happy as well.

“…You girls, you’re properly doing your jobs, right?” (Shuuya)

Watching how they play around with Rollo, I ask them in such manner.

They all say at once and simultaneously put an end to the Rollo touching time.
They straightened their back, adopted an attentive attitude, and stared at me.

“We swept and washed the laundry, and since there’s little casual wear, we procured plenty of nice attires. Also, since Mr. Tomas Ivanovic, who lives opposite of us, Mr. Rave Kuzeguile, who lives in the neighborhood, Mrs. Riko Madolikos, and many others came for greetings, I greeted them as representative.” (Isabell)

Hee, so that happened as well?

“What did they say?” (Shuuya)

“Mr. Tomas said, “I came to extend greetings for the Martial Arts District’s Neighborhood Association. I will come back another day.” Mr. Rave Kuzeguile left after leaving the short statement of “I will intrude upon you again.” Mrs. Riko Madolikos went back after emphasizing her words, “Even though I’m the messenger of the Martial Arts Union! How rude to be absent! Since I live nearby, I expressly came for greetings, you know! Humph! I will be back!”” (Isabell)

A woman with an irritable4 tone, eh?
Meeting with her would make me nervous.

“I see. It would be great if we run into each other, but I have various things going on, too. If they come again while I’m not in, tell them that I will do my best to meet them, if they designate a date.” (Shuuya)

“Yes, certainly!” (Isabell)

At that point I shift my eyes towards the main building.

“Well then, I will take a little rest at the main building.” (Shuuya)

The three maids bow silently.
Taking along Viine and Helme, I open the entrance door and enter the living room.
The maids also followed silently.
Of course Rollo, too.
Helme moves to a corner of the room, and spreads out her skin by shifting the bluish black leaves at her chest left and right.
She took out a bluish black crystal from within the cracked open chest.
A dense magic source is contained within the crystal.

“Your Excellency, I will meditate for a bit, so please don’t mind me…” (Helme)

“Sure.” (Shuuya)

While being the center of everyone’s attention, Helme starts floating while sitting cross-legged as if embracing that crystal.
She is engulfed by a faint steam cocoon coming out of her body, causing a slight mist to spread in the vicinity.

“Nya, nyanya~.”

Rollo was interested in the mist.
She unleashes cat punches at the mist, making it vanish or appear.

“…Cute. Ah, master, it’s about spirit-sama, but it reached the point that the servants want to offer prayers to her. Ah, me too. I always pray to her.” (Isabell)

The maids pray to Helme with their heads bowed.
She has become a subject of worship, huh?

“I don’t think that it bears much meaning to pray to Helme, but well, do as you like.” (Shuuya)

Well, I think I will change.
After unfastening the chest strap, I place it on top of the table, and take off my overcoat…at that moment Krychiwa and Anna, who had prayed to Helme, helped me with the overcoat.
The two carry the strap and the overcoat as if holding something precious, and place them on a nearby mannequin for my personal use.
Hee, maids are sure thoughtful.
The number of small accessories such as mannequins has increased.
Once I unfasten the armor, they help me in the same way.
I feel like a noble from somewhere… Just as Isabell mentioned, they had bought spare clothes. It’s not the simple leather clothes that they had prepared, but a silk jacket and stylish trousers.

“…Sorry, but I’m going to put on my underwear, so you don’t need to help me from here on out.” (Shuuya)

Krychiwa fox ears twitch, Anna humbly distances herself from me.
At that point, Eva and Rebecca, who had decided where they are going to stay, returned to the living room.

“Shuuya! I made up my mind.” (Rebecca)

“Nn, me too.” (Eva)

“So, where are you going to stay at?” (Shuuya)

“It was difficult to choose since all of them are big, but the place where you are staying, Shuuya, is the big place on the right side, correct?” (Rebecca)

“Yeah, first floor on the right.” (Shuuya)

“As I thought. Hence I decided on a room located on the left side of the first floor’s corridor.” (Rebecca)

“Nn, I’m next to that room.” (Eva)

Both rooms are in front of the room where I’m sleeping, huh?

“Got it. What are you going to do about your luggage? Since there’s two of you, you will have to go with one each, but I will help you out.” (Shuuya)

“Nn, no need. I will charter a carriage.” (Eva)

“Me too, charter…there’s the large amount of money from the other day, and besides, aren’t there plenty of servants here? You can get them to help out, right?” (Rebecca)

“Ah, that’s also true.” (Shuuya)

“Helping master’s honored friends, yes? I will instruct several people at once. I will secure a number of people that can come along.” (Isabell)

Isabell, who was on standby on the side, seemingly listened to our conversation.

“I see. Can I have you send several helpers around then?” (Rebecca)

“Yes.” (Isabell)

“Great, as expected of an exclusive maid. I will quick return home and gather my belongings.” (Rebecca)

“I will also return to the restaurant and put the luggage in order. I will also explain to Dee and Lily.” (Eva)

Given that Rebecca lives alone, it seems that she can move out right away.
Eva lived with the beastman maid called Lily, I guess. Going by my prediction of her attitude…it looks like it will take some time.
And then…while thinking about the matters with the blood and the mirrors, I move my mouth that had become heavy.

“…Understood. Also, once the moving finished, there’s something important I have to tell you. Can you make some time for me then?” (Shuuya)

“…What?” (Rebecca)

“Something important…” (Eva)

Eva and Rebecca look into my eyes with quizzical expressions.

“Something about dark guilds and so on?” (Rebecca)

“No, I think is an even more important matter.” (Shuuya)

“I-I see…got it.” (Rebecca)

“Nn, looking forward to it.” (Eva)

Rebecca’s face became slightly stiff and the sound of her gulping down her saliva could be heard, but Eva said that she’s looking forward to it while smiling like an angel.
She’s a good girl.
The two, who took the servants that had been instructed by Isabell along afterwards, return to their respective homes.

“Master, that important matter, is that possibly…?” (Viine)

Viine asks with her silver eyes tearing up.

“That’s right. I’m planning to tell them about my blood.” (Shuuya)

“So you are going to increase your <Head Servant Leader> bloodkin?” (Viine)

“That’s how it is. But, I don’t know whether they will agree to it…” (Shuuya)

“…It’s slightly worrying, isn’t it? But it will be alright. Eva and Rebecca will certainly obey Master. I understand as fellow woman.” (Viine)

Viine gently supported me with a smile.

“A woman’s perception, huh――” (Shuuya)

I put my arms around her tight waist and hug her.

“Ah, yes…” (Viine)

After that I piled up gratitude and gentle loving on the lips that gave birth to Viine’s kind words.

Translation Notes:

  1. I will reflect that by using capitalization, meaning guild master-sama = Guild Master, whereas “guild master” means without any honorifics. I do the same with Viine, who always refers to Shuuya as Shuuya-sama or goshujin-sama, which usually would be something like honorable lord/sir master in English
  2. Was first mentioned in chapter 104, “demonoid” as in majin aka demon human
  3. I checked this name, but the author’s glossary doesn’t include it. I assume that it’s some kind of god since that’s how the author usually introduces that someone is a kin of some god, but not sure in this case.
