That’s he ain’t affected by the usual stereotype phenomenon of JP sense.
He’s more stronger and smarter not being affected by something cliche.

What is needed for a city to prosper? Liberty, Peace, Rules and Free Commerce. Although Hifumi focusses on the slaughtering it also means that he serves as powerful deterrent to any strife. Furthermore, while he doesn’t care that much, he has trained civil official slaves, who follow his teachings of earth’s moralistic values. Thus I don’t think it’s that strange for the city to flourish.

That;s something I dislike bout this. People aren’t an extension of their leaders, they are themselves. Given the way he brought the town together through force, you wouldn’t expect such a drastic change in the citizenry. Even if you train for battle and learn new techniques, the ‘battle junkie’ mindset isn’t something you can teach to anyone, let alone a military force. You either have it or don’t.

In that respect this is testing my limits of suspension of disbelief with how ‘gary stu’ his governance is and his military reforms, which so far haven’t really been expounded upon, that make his soldiers look forward to battle and killing people (lol).

I don’t think they’ve had sufficient time to build total trust in their leader… really after 1 battle?

Also the town seems to be prosperous because the author wants it to be prosperous, there is no logic to it… are they communist now and working for free and happy to work without compensation? What changed that wasn’t present before basically. The new ideas of weapons from Hifumi? Are other countries buying those weapons?

It just doesn’t make sense.

I loved how this started and how different the MC was, and the dynamics between Kasha Origa and Hifumi and the princess, but it fails to suspend my disbelief that he is good at governing because ‘future ideas’. Economics is a thing, where is the market and what are they selling and to who?

Not to mention when Kasha died she inexplicably ‘repents’… just to make Origa feel better? What happened to her conviction that he was a heinous blood soaked criminal?

…To be honest, even the fact that apparently they don’t even know about battering rams while having walls just hurts me… I mean is the whole world just a bunch of idiots? They certainly have war, so lack of war isn’t an excuse.

…Maybe i’ve just been spoiled by great novels.

Basically I don’t like how there hasn’t been any real trials for Hifumi, physical or philosophical, yet. He is a battle junkie in an idiot world and everyone seems to just be there to be killed by him and revolves around him… where is the challenge.. where is the character growth? He needs it, as does Origa.

I desperately want the princess to become a foil to him instead of remaining a pawn for that purpose…

yeah basically the princessn and a lot of the people of the capital are all douchebags to him because he killed the King… King that basically was the douchiest of them all by starting war with the half human and pillaging them.

YET when Hifumi wants to start war too they all hate on him, basically they’re all stupid and Hifumi is the best thing that’s happening to their world right now. Sure he goes around killing countless people but he almost never provoke them, he always make sure to kill people who oppose him altough.

And the main reason why it’s a disgrace for not entering the battlefield with Hifumi is because all soldiers are starting to have a mindset like Hifumi were they would like to test their new weapon and techniques they learned on the enemy that’s why being left out is like they missed the chance to show the results of their hard work
