Why can’t Shyemul or the Elder tell the rest that Souma is a Drop Child or that he’s from another world? That thing could’ve made a difference you know.

Understandable as that hatred is, I still want to bash the head of the parents. Reminds me too much of a Chinese parent yelling at a Japanese friend of mine for accidentally bumping into their kid. We we’re still kids. And the parents won’t have reacted the way they did if my friend wasn’t Japanese.

In reply to stux. It was honestly a few coincidences that just happened at the same time. Shyemul was a bit late (I think), the Elder had to deal with some business, and the kids were being kids and just exploring. Normally no one would show up where Souma was with the Elder not there, I think. Lots of things happen because of just a few coincidences at the same time.

Seems a little unrealistic that the Elder and Shyemul wouldn’t know of the dangers of leaving Souma by himself (especially after warning him not to go off on his own). And I doubt that the father wouldn’t have heard the rumors of Shyemul bringing a human over to the village.
