Seriously. I have be3n askijg myself this since pretty much the start of th3 series but. How the hell hasn’t this country collapsed yet? An undead ancient dragon attacks. Yeah sure, thats bad luck, goes out and defeats another high dragon or something. Yeah ok. But then we see several houses that are hard for him to excise despite having done so to an ANCIENT DRAGON, KNOWN corrupt high nobility is left alone (until the unleash a $@%/ing dragon into the city anyway, A head of finance that apparently can’t do basic math, Undead apparently get to a level that makes team dragonslayer have some trouble after they died a dozen years ago, not counting how high a % turned undead in tue first place, a magic tool can also apparently be bought that almost guarentees at least the main target will die. (flute of grudges. Not counting the anomaly of kurt, if it wasn’t wend and co it would still be enough, not mentioning the even more dreadful dragon flute that was mentioned) And again, corrupt nobility being left alone, or even if not corrupt interal wars like whats going on now seem frequent.
There’s really nothing to say other than its a miracle the country is still standing. Other issues exist too, like how extreme the heirs to nobility are treared compared to the rest of the children.

In reply to tensai no tenshi. Well, Klaus probably staged this whole farce. The soldiers in disguise is most likely provided by Weld. Because even if his grand children revolt, they will be taken care of immediately. Who in their right mind would recognize those rubbishes as territory ruler?

I feel like there are some forshadowing here and there. It doesn’t feel real to me that Klaus betray Baumeister even after being told the truth. Because he has became more like a normal grandpa in retirement, no more ambitious. Thus, I think he is probably sacrificing himself to fool the revolting side by joining them. I guess at this point he gives up on his grandchilds.

That would explain why nobles & soldiers came to pick a fight with someone that can kill a dragon.

In reply to Tran. I think Klaus thinks that he had lived his life enough that he could sacrifice his remaining days for that sliver of a VERY LOW chance for his grandchildren to somewhat raise their status..
