Wend is kinda like any other jap mc useless, spineless, with no ambition, no motivation and would have wasted his live away if not for the overly forced plot development and plotarmor warming hiss soft weak ass. Story pisses me of but i still want to know what happens. It is like a crappy game you do not want to play anymore but becuase of the interesting plot you want to at least know how it ends. Damnations!

Still weird wend needs to pay himself and the guild to do his own work. Why not do the work and not take the request. Saves over 20% of the cost or more in taxes. Even selling all those (stolen) inventions is stupid when you could just make your own company and hire somone to sell them no work at all. And why call them adventures when all they do is hunt and inspect ruins(1 out of 10.000). Just make it the hunters guild.

But that is how japanese are, besides all the characters in this novel are shallow like that. It is the plot that keeps me reading with just a little interest. The story and writting itself is of low quality.

I would say she is like Flay which she has a superiority complex for a teenager. But she has not yet experience the death of a family member. What like about her is that she is a sort of rival for Wend. and having a rival for the MC to me is a good thing. Since this way can now have the excuse to train himself to become stronger. That and so far there have been no rivals for Wend. in magic so far in this series.

And I love the Gundam Seed series and I have the entire series as well as the movies.

I didn’t say she is malicious. She is just the annoying type character of Japanese fiction girl archetypes. And that’s only a first impression as I know that her character will change later on.
However comparing her to Flay from GS is kind of wrong. Flay was a calculative bitch with a father-complex and a weak ego deep down. When she died I was like “Good job” (though she was sadly the best looking girl in that whacko art there).
If you want to compare Katharina with an anime character, I’d say she fits best with Drills from Ladies vs. Butlers. If you asked me whether that one is annoying, I would say yes. If you asked me if she is evil or malicious, I would say no.
And if you want to compare Japanese fiction girls in Japanese harems with real girls, I would recommend a doctor… :p
