Hakai no Miko – Foreword: Myth of Creation

Heyas folks,

recently I have been reading some novels on Syousetsu and stumbled on this little novel. After reading a bit into the story, it drew me in. Seeing that the translation hasn’t been updated for over a year now, I decided to spark the interest in the novel once more.

The language is quite sophisticated and rich for a web novel. The author is still active and releases a chapter once every 2-3 weeks with 267 chapters in total at the moment.

I don’t know yet whether I will dedicate myself fully to it, but I kind of find it saddening that no one picked it up, so I will release it as time permits. As for what to expect, read the author’s notes at the start of the foreword.

Patreon Update: A little game

Heyas folks,

a while back, at the beginning of the year, I had the idea to change my Patreon page. Most of my fellow translator peers already used a system of offering chapter previews depending on the patron’s tier back then, and no matter how much of an old man I am, I thought I had to go with the times.

I quickly realized though that doing that would basically mean that once the stock is filled up, I would be back to regularly translating the chapters as I have been doing more or less for 3 years now.

So I came up with the idea of an event-driven world-building game using Patreon. The advantage is that on top of getting the tier rewards, the patrons would be able to unlock even more chapter previews by participating in game events. Effectively that would spur me on to translate as much as possible and not waste my time on lazying around while at the same time giving the whole Patreon business a bit of life.

Well that was the idea, but then Nidoume was licensed and I had various setbacks in RL like sickness, family matters etc. making it at some times even difficult to keep up the regular releases.

But that’s over and done with now (I hope), and I finally finished all the steps needed for the game to go live and even had already a little test run with the current patrons.

Thus all of you are invited to check out and also join the Patreon game The Rise of Asuria Oukoku by clicking the picture below. I hope many of you will look positively at the idea, and of course I’m always open for suggestions.

The Spearmaster and the Black Cat – Chapter 84: A beauty

Heyas folks,

some, who actually know my usual schedule, may wonder why I’m releasing the chapter today, but I decided to shift things around a bit.

Spearmaster will get the weekly Friday slot while Slaughterer will move to the Saturday slot sharing it with the monthly Kakei Senki wo Kakageyo! With this the release rate of Spearmaster takes its final form.

Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Chapter 80: A story of sleepy politics I heard somewhere before – Part 3

Konbanwa minna-san,

with this part we finish the tedious introductory chapter of the coming war arc. The next chapter will be split into 4 parts as it’s a long one, though a very interesting one, too. ^^

This chapter has been translated by Shasu and edited by DarqSan, Samuel and Sniper.

The Spearmaster and the Black Cat – Chapter 83: The gentle Tiger who boasts of a fierce god-like strength

Heyas folks,

today you get a portion of melodramatic action. Next chapter will be released 6th May.

But before that, a short information. A few days ago Volume 5 of Stranger & Black Cat (official LN title) came out. I bought it yesterday and extracted the illustrations. I added quite a few to the previously released chapters, the new cover can be seen at the ToC and the cast for the volume can be seen in the Glossary. Check them out if you like pictures. 😉

Also, due to the length of the chapters, the LN doesn’t make much headway. Currently we are already half past through the volume and I expect it to be fully finished until chapter 90 if not earlier. So no illustrations for quite a while to come after that.

This chapter has been translated by Shasu and edited by Kelechi and Marco.
