Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Chapter 46: Coming home after a long while – Part 1

Hello folks,

before I get to today’s release, I feel like I have to vent some anger.

Having read the the comments at another translator’s novel translation, I realized there are some people who think it is alright to steal other people’s work and put them up on their site without even having any permission to do that.

Now I do know that this topic isn’t anything new as I’ve seen the thread on NU forum but after checking out the offender’s site today, I was saddened and disappointed that there are such people.

In the first place, we, the translators, already have a problematic standing as we don’t have any official license to translate these novels (otherwise it would be quite easy to bring down such site with legal claims). But I, and I think I can talk for the other other translators on this too, put in a lot effort into translating, editing, releasing and running my site, so that you, the readers, can enjoy the novels.

Therefore, a person or people stealing the content to use it for their own site and, to top it off, claim the content to be their property is the lowest thing someone could do towards someone else’s work.

Of course I could ignore the theft, but I don’t feel like doing so. Thus, I considered my options.

With wordpress.com those are pretty much limited. To avoid site scrapping bots to do their work, the easiest way would be to use JavaScript or such to cloud the content, but that isn’t possible here. I’m no web hacker to know all tricks and gaps possible to use, therefore I decided to use the sole tool available to me with wordpress.com: Password-protect each chapter release in the hope that the bots won’t be able to simply grab the content. The passwords will change with each release.

This will be a heavy blow for binge readers, I know. But, if you want to blame someone, then blame those who take other people’s work lightly.

Of course, I’m open for other suggestions that would work with wordpress.com and are easy to implement.

Well, enough of that for now.

Chapter 46 of Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! is longer than the previous chapter. Thus I decided to split it apart into 2 parts once again. The second part will follow next weekend.

Please extend your thanks to Kruncs for editing it for your reading entertainment!

Also thank Zazabooze for re-editing chapters 21 and 22!

The password for this chapter is Artur

Kakei Senki wo Kakageyo! – Chapter 3: The dearly missed atmosphere of kendo sounds

Heyas folks,

here you go with the next chapter of Kakei Senki wo Kakageyo!

This one uses the PoV of a new character. It’s an interesting read for sure. And the next chapter will get even more interesting. ^^

Well the chapter is edited by myself so it might appear a bit bumpy and not flow too well at some places. Also it was sometimes difficult to separate between the characters thoughts and the passive narration. I tried my best though.

In other words, I am still looking for an editor confident in their own English language skills to help me with editing this.

The next chapter is planned for Saturday, the 16th July.

Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Chapter 45: The started adventurer live and a new request – part 2

Heyas folks,

here you go with the second and last part of the chapter.

It’s only self-edited as Kruncs-san is busy with work (always the same with us old men, huh 😉 ).

The next chapter will follow on 17th July, returning to the 2-weeks-cycle. I haven’t looked at it yet, though I will despair if it’s again that long. xD

I will also see to get working on the interlude I owe you guys in-between.

The chapter continues from part 1 to part 2 at the red paragraph separator!

Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Chapter 45: The started adventurer life and a new request – part 1

Heyas folks,

first off, sorry for the long delay. Adding to RL stuff (like watching the European Soccer Cup 2016) and the exhaustion from work, there was also the blog’s anniversary which focussed on Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de.

Well now that most of it is done and over with, I wanted to release chapter 45 of Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! but it was too frigging long, so I split it into two parts at an appropriate place (around 50%). I will try to release the second part as fast as possible but well once you see how long part 1 is, you might be able to understand why such chapters take so long to translate. xD

Extend your thanks to Kruncs-san for editing this wall of words. Honestly, the most work goes into typing it down into English, not so much into translating it… !

On another note there have been several re-edits of older chapters! Chapter 18 and Interlude 1 were edited by Garit-kun. Also welcoming Zazabooze as editor rookie in our team, Interlude 2 and chapter 25 were edited in cooperation with Garit-kun! The number left for re-editing has decreased a lot! 😀

Lastly, please extend your thanks to the patrons of this series, Asvan and Dark Josh!

Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de – Chapter 35: It seems to be sequel 2

Good evening,

this chapter marks the end and beginnings of some things.

First off, it is the end of the arc “Something like an introductory part” which the author calls as “chapter 1.” The following arc is called “Something like the compilation of activity” and it has 44 chapters (including interludes).

Next it marks the end of my translation of Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de. Some may ask why. But, I can ascertain you that it’s not because I dislike this series at all. Although slow, this story advances at a steady rate and presents the reader with a collected, shrewd MC who manages to adapt to his own situation in a proficient way. There are some discrepancies in the story but it’s a web novel after all, so blaming the author for it is kind of disrespectful in my eyes.

So why am I dropping this? The major point lies in its slowness and my slowness. As of now the author has released 323 chapters (including interludes). Going by my current pace, I might catch up to the novel in about 10 years. Although I could at best increase the release rate to once a week, I am not inclined to do so because it is fairly difficult to preserve through all those filler chapters without getting discouraged if you are translating at a slow pace. If my RL allowed me to, I’d love to release 2-3 chapters per week, but that ain’t happening. Also, I am not an egoistical prick, who thinks it is fine to keep hogging a series, I can’t deliver at a decent rate, to myself. Thus, after considering it myself and seeing some people complaining about the slow release pace, I decided to let a different translator pick up this series in the hope that they will be able to go at a faster pace than I am capable of.

I would be glad if future translators could drop me a line at infinite.novel.translations@googlemail.com in order to at least avoid various translators picking up the same novel. 🙂

Well, an end usually always means a beginning, thus I will announce here that I will be translating Kakei Senki wo Kakageyo! on a weekly basis starting with 9th July. That series is finished at something around 140 chapters with a light novel adaptation, though I will translate the web novel. I am yet not certain if I can keep up that pace considering my RL, so it is merely a temporary announcement as of yet.

Oh yea, I am still looking for editors, thus don’t be shy and apply you candidacy!

Well here you go with the last chapter of Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de from my side.

Greetings,

Shasu
